Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and an apparatus for packaging goods.
- the type of packaging of goods and the physical or chemical principles used for packaging have a major influence on the shelf life of the goods. This proves to be particularly important in the packaging of foodstuffs, since many foods must be sealed airtight from the environment for longer storage in order to avoid loss of flavor.
- coffee beans are mentioned at this point, which are usually traded in bags which are made of paper laminated with aluminum and are not completely gas-tight. Usually, such coffee bags are folded several times at their filling area, the folded area being secured by means of an adhesive film. With these packagings, it proves to be disadvantageous that the aroma of the coffee escapes, particularly when stored for a long time.
- the invention has for its object to provide a method and an apparatus for packaging goods, which also enable long-term storage of the goods and which are easy and inexpensive to use.
- the object is achieved in that the goods are filled in partially sealed packages, that several packages are used in a lower part of the package, that the interior of the lower part of the package is evacuated to a maximum of 60%, and that a flushing with inert gas is then carried out in addition to the evacuation that the interior of the lower part of the packaging is then charged with inert gas and sealed by means of a cover.
- the method according to the invention is distinguished by a number of considerable advantages. Since the goods themselves are filled in partially sealed packages, this filling process can be carried out in normal work rooms without additional air conditioning. Filling into partially sealed packages allows a certain amount of gas exchange, which may be necessary, for example, to release residual moisture. By subsequently inserting several packs in a lower packaging part, it is possible to produce larger containers, for example with units of 8 to 12 packs of goods, which on the one hand are easier to transport and on the other hand significantly reduce the further packaging effort. By further influencing the interior of the lower part of the packaging according to the method, it is possible to control the gases enclosed in the lower part of the packaging and the partially sealed packs in a targeted manner with regard to their type and composition.
- the interior of the lower packaging part is first evacuated to a maximum of 60%.
- this enables an effective removal of the gases located in the interior of the lower packaging part, on the other hand, it is also possible to suck off the gases enclosed in the goods packs.
- safety is guaranteed represents that the individual packs of goods do not burst during the evacuation, which would be possible with a stronger evacuation due to the air enclosed in the packs of goods.
- purging with inert gas takes place according to the invention in addition to the further evacuation.
- the gases still remaining in the goods packs are exchanged for the inert gas.
- the residual oxygen content of the gases in the goods packs can be reduced to less than 1%, as a result of which oxidation of the goods during an extended storage period can be effectively avoided.
- a favorable further development of the method according to the invention is provided in that the evacuation and the flushing are carried out several times. By repeating this step several times, the residual oxygen content inside the partially sealed goods packs can be reduced to a minimum value.
- the bottom part of the packaging is temporarily closed before the evacuation and the flushing. If a gas which is heavier than air is not used as the inert gas, the inert gas could be replaced by air when the lower packaging parts are changed between the different processing areas or if the tool leaks, thereby reducing the advantageous effect according to the invention would be eliminated or eliminated.
- the lower part of the packaging can be closed by means of a temporary closure, for example a sealed film. When using an inert gas which has a higher specific weight than air, this provisional closure can be omitted.
- the evacuation to values between 40% and 60% takes place.
- evacuation to values above 60% proves to be unfavorable because of the risk of the goods packs bursting.
- evacuation below 40% it would not be ensured that the processes according to the invention, i. H. the exchange of air for the inert gas takes place in a reliable manner.
- a particularly advantageous development of the invention can also be given by evacuation to a maximum of 60% before the lower part of the packaging is closed by means of the cover and the inert gas applied beforehand.
- evacuation to a maximum of 60% before the lower part of the packaging is closed by means of the cover and the inert gas applied beforehand.
- the object of the invention is achieved in that a transport device is provided by the device for carrying packaging parts filled with goods packs, as well as a first work area with a vacuum source and an inert gas supply and a second work area with a lid supply device, a sealing device, a vacuum source and an inert gas supply.
- the device according to the invention is distinguished by a number of considerable advantages. By separating into a first and a second work area, it is possible to meet these requirements adjustments in the best possible way, in particular the conveying speed of the lower packaging parts can be optimally adapted to the duration of the physical processes taking place.
- the packaging lower parts are sealed in the second work area, this must be additionally provided in a suitable manner by means of a sealing device and a lid feed device. Since sealing only requires a relatively short processing time, it is possible to provide only a second working area in addition to several first working areas.
- the lower packaging part can be enclosed in the first and the second working area in a first and a second working chamber, these working chambers being provided with the vacuum source and the inert gas connection. During the treatment and processing of the lower packaging parts, an undesired gas exchange to the environment is prevented.
- each of the working chambers has a height-adjustable lower part of the chamber.
- This measure makes it possible for the lower packaging parts to be essentially in one plane, i. H. to promote without overcoming height differences.
- the cover feed device is designed in the form of a film web feed. It is therefore not necessary to feed individual lids separately. Furthermore, it proves to be advantageous if the film web and the welding stamp have the same width, in which case a space is formed between the welding stamp and the inner wall of the upper chamber part, which is connected to the vacuum source. This ensures that when the film web is already fed in, but before sealing by means of the welding stamp, there is sufficient gas exchange with the interior of the lower packaging part.
- the supply of inert gas is preferably carried out by means of a slot nozzle which is arranged between the lower packaging part arranged in the lower chamber part and the film web applied to the upper chamber part by means of the slot nozzle.
- This measure ensures that the inert gas flows directly into the interior of the lower part of the packaging, so that a reliable and reliable purging is ensured.
- the slot nozzle can be used to increase the flow rate with several inert gas connections
- Fig. 1 a side view of the device for packaging goods according to the invention is shown schematically.
- the goods are filled in individual goods packs 1, which are partially sealed and consist, for example, of aluminum-laminated paper material, which is closed by multiple folding.
- the included goods can be coffee beans, for example.
- the individual goods packs 1 are each arranged in a plurality in a lower packaging part 2.
- the individual packaging lower parts 2 are cup-shaped or trough-shaped and are connected to one another at their flange regions 2a.
- the band thus formed from a plurality of lower packaging parts is moved essentially in one plane by means of a suitable conveying device, for example a chain conveyor, in the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 1 from right to left.
- Each of the lower packaging parts 2 has an inner space 3 which is dimensioned such that the individual goods packs 1 are easy to use, an inner space 3 still remaining even when the goods packs 1 are inserted.
- the device according to the invention has a first working area 5 and a second working area 6.
- a first working chamber 7 is formed for receiving a lower packaging part 2, which is enclosed by an essentially fixed cover 9 and a height-adjustable lower chamber part 10.
- the lower chamber part 10 is lowered, in order then, when the lower packaging part 2 has been brought into its processing position, to be brought up against the cover 9.
- the cover 9 bears against the flange region 2a of the lower packaging part 2, which in turn is supported by the lower chamber part 10.
- the first working chamber 7 is thus divided into two partial areas, the lower partial area shown in FIG. 1 not being relevant for further processing.
- an outlet 17 is provided, which is connected to a vacuum source, not shown. Furthermore, the cover 9 has an inlet 18 through which inert gas can be supplied. It is thus possible to evacuate the portion 7a of the first working chamber 7 formed above the lower packaging part 2 and / or to fill it with inert gas.
- This second working area 6 comprises a second working chamber 8, which is formed by a lower chamber part 11 and an upper chamber part 12.
- the lower chamber part 11, like the lower chamber part 10, is mounted such that it can be adjusted in height, so that the respective flange regions 2a of the lower packaging parts 2 can be pressed in sealing contact with the upper chamber part 12, as a result of which an interior space 13 formed in the upper chamber part 12 is connected to the product packs 1 and can be evacuated or charged with inert gas.
- Interior 13 a welding stamp 14 is arranged, which can be adjusted hydraulically or by compressed air actuation by means of a piston 19 relative to the upper chamber part 12.
- the welding stamp 14 has an edge region 14a which serves for sealing.
- a slot nozzle 16 is provided on the right-hand side shown in FIG. 1, which is connected in a manner not shown to an inert gas supply.
- the slot nozzle 16 and the upper chamber part 12 are designed to fit each other so that the interior 13 is sealed off from the environment.
- a feed device (not shown in detail) for a film web 15 is provided in the area of the upper chamber part 12, which serves to seal or close the lower packaging parts 2.
- the upper chamber part 12 has an outlet 20 (see FIG. 2) which is connected to a vacuum source.
- the width of the film web 15 is dimensioned such that it is equal to the width of the welding stamp 14 (see FIG. 2). In this way, an intermediate space 21 is formed between the film web 15 brought into the closed position and the flange 2a of the lower packaging part 2, which enables gas exchange between the interior 3 of the respective lower packaging part 2 and the interior 13 of the upper chamber part 12.
- an inlet 20 is used Vacuum applied while an inert gas is supplied through the slot nozzle 16 simultaneously or with a time delay.
- the welding stamp 14 is lowered by means of the piston 19, so that the film web 15 can be sealed airtight with the flange region 2a of the lower packaging part 2.
- the welding stamp 14 can be heatable in the usual way.
- Both the lower chamber part 10 and the lower chamber part 11 can be provided with a bottom-side outlet 22 in order to evacuate the entire interior of the respective working chamber 7, 8 or to fill it with gas.
- the invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment shown, but it is also possible to use two slot nozzles in the second working area 6, which can each be arranged laterally, one slot nozzle being connected to the vacuum source, while the other slot nozzle for supplying the inert gas serves.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 2 eine Schnittansicht entlang der Linie II-II von Fig. 1.
