Abstract

In a housing (1, 2), for example of an electrical installation apparatus, there is a retaining space (3) for the insertion of an electrical conductor (4) which is to be connected and which is inserted through a hole (5) in the housing. A boundary of the retaining space (3) is formed by an electrical contact piece (6) against which the electrical conductor (4) is pressed by means of a V-shaped leaf spring (7) having identical limbs. An operating device (10) is used for forcing back the leaf spring (7), which operating device extends on both sides of the contact piece (6) into the retaining space (3) for the electrical conductor (4) with two parallel limbs (11, 12) which are constructed on one end. The two limbs (11, 12) are constructed offset in the form of a step on the end, so that in the case of both limbs there is an inwardly turning stepped shoulder (13) against which the clamping edge (8) of the leaf spring (7) rests. On insertion of the electrical conductor (4), the leaf spring end executes a curved pivoting movement, the limbs (11, 12) of the operating device (10), which are in driven engagement with the clamping edge (8) of the leaf spring (7), executing the same movement in the insertion direction of the electrical conductor and inwards, so that the operating device (10) then assumes an oblique position in order in this way to indicate in a visually identifiable manner the correctly completed connection of the electrical conductor (4). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a screwless electrical connecting terminal with a receiving space in a housing for inserting an electrical conductor to be connected, an electrically conductive contact piece forming a fixed boundary of the receiving space, a leaf spring for pressing the electrical conductor against the contact piece within the receiving space and an actuating member for pushing back the Leaf spring from the pressing position, which actuating member can be moved manually transversely to the direction of insertion of the conductor and has two legs extending in its direction of movement, which are intended for cooperation with the leaf spring.

The problem with known electrical connection terminals of this type is that when connecting a flexible electrical conductor, which is formed as a strand of twisted thin individual wires, this conductor is flattened between the contact piece and the leaf spring and therefore a lateral guide for the strand must be available , with additional consideration being given to the fact that the clamping point is at a different location depending on the diameter of the electrical conductor, but that the conductor should be guided in each of these possible cases.

In a known electrical connection terminal of this type described in DE-PS 28 26 978, this is particularly the case with an electrical conductor with a large diameter is not sufficient. If a flexible electrical conductor can move sideways, this leads to an impermissibly large reduction in the contact force and, moreover, the pull-out force to be pulled out of the terminal also becomes impermissibly low.

The practical application of such electrical terminals has shown that it is particularly advantageous if the tightness of the conductors can be easily checked in the case of a large number of electrical terminals of this type present in an installation apparatus, visual inspection being the most favorable, i.e. that you can visually see on the connection terminal itself whether the electrical conductor is properly clamped.

In GB-A-1 593 321 ist eine elektrische Anschlußklemme dieser Art beschrieben, mit einem manuell betätigbaren Hebel, der eine Schwenkbewegung beschreibt, aber bei dem eine visuelle Kontrolle der richtigen Festklemmung der Leiter nur zufällig möglich ist.GB-A-1 593 321 describes an electrical connecting terminal of this type, with a manually actuable lever which describes a pivoting movement, but in which a visual check of the correct clamping of the conductors is only possible by chance.

It is therefore the object of the invention to design a screwless electrical connection terminal of the type mentioned in such a way that reliable guidance is ensured for electrical conductors with different diameters during insertion and clamping and that the conductor is stuck at the position of the actuating member for the Leaf spring can recognize.

The object is achieved in the electrical connection terminal of the generic type with the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1. An expedient embodiment results from the dependent claims.

The electrical connecting terminal according to the invention has the advantage that the electrical conductor is correctly connected from the position of the actuating member is recognizable. The electrical conductor is guided laterally securely through the legs which are moved along with the actuating member and which extend far beyond the electrical conductor. In the case of the inclined position taken up by the actuating member after the electrical conductor has been inserted, there is a lower loosening force to be exerted against the inclined leaf spring leg, which, particularly when using the electrical clamp in an installation apparatus, must not be too great.

  • Fig. 1 die elektrische Anschlussklemme in einem abgebrochen und im Schnitt dargestellten Gehäuse, ohne elektrischen Leiter;
  • Fig. 2 eine zu Fig. 1 analoge Darstellung mit durch die Anschlussklemme festgehaltenem elektrischen Leiter;
An embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. Show it:
  • Figure 1 shows the electrical terminal in a broken and sectioned housing, without an electrical conductor.
  • FIG. 2 shows an illustration analogous to FIG. 1 with the electrical conductor held by the connecting terminal;
  • 3 and 4, the actuator in section and in side view.

Diese Stellung des Betätigungsorgans 10 bezüglich des Gehäuses 1,2 zeigt den korrekt erfolgten Anschluss des elektrischen Leiters visuell erkennbar an.In a housing 1, 2, shown broken off, which can form, for example, a switch or a socket, an accommodation space 3 is formed for an electrical conductor 4 to be connected, which is only shown in FIG. 2 and which extends through a bore formed in the housing part 1 5 is inserted into the receiving space 3. This receiving space 3 is delimited on one side by an electrically conductive contact piece 6, which is fixedly arranged in the housing 1, 2. On the opposite of the contact piece On the side, a leaf spring 7 extending into the receiving space 3 for the electrical conductor 4 is supported. This V-shaped, isosceles steel spring 7 is intended to press the clamping edge 8 on one leg of the electrical conductor 4 inserted into the receiving space 3 under the influence of the elasticity of the steel spring against the electrically conductive contact piece 6. The clamping edge 8 secures the electrical conductor 4 against being pulled out of the terminal. If the electrical conductor 4 is solid or stable enough, it only needs to be inserted against the action of the leaf spring 7. If the electrical conductor 4 is a strand of fine wire, the actuating member 10 arranged above the electrical contact piece 6 in a recess 9 in the housing 1, 2 must be pressed down. This actuator 10 shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 as a single part is solid in the upper part and then has two legs 11 and 12 which are parallel to one another and are of identical shape. The two legs 11 and 12 extend on both sides of the electrical contact piece 6 located between them into the receiving space 3 of the electrical conductor 4 to be inserted. The two legs 11 and 12, which are of identical design with respect to the outer shape, are stepped on one side so that an internal step shoulder 13 is present at this step, against which the leaf spring 7 with the clamping edge 8 abuts when no electrical conductor 4 is inserted. Each leg is at a short distance from this stepped shoulder 13 11, 12 at 16 somewhat protruding toward the leaf spring, as a result of which the actuating member 10 is in driving engagement with the leaf spring 7 via the two legs 11 and 12 when the leaf spring end having the clamping edge 8 has a pivoting movement when the electrical conductor 4 is inserted executes, wherein the two legs 11 and 12 carry out the same downward movement and at the same time in the direction of insertion of the electrical conductor, as a result of which the actuating element 10 assumes an inclined position at the end, as can be seen from FIG. 2. This position of the actuator 10 with respect to the housing 1, 2 visually recognizes the correct connection of the electrical conductor.

So that this oblique position of the actuating member 10, which extends through the channel-shaped recess 9 in the housing 1, 2 into the receiving space 3 for the electrical conductor 4 to be inserted, it has one on the side opposite the stepping shoulder 13 with respect to the insertion direction of the electrical conductor Indentation 14, which extends over a large part of this side of the actuating member, which in other words is tapered in a wedge shape with a gradual reduction in cross-section to the narrowest point, while a widening is again present in the lowest leg section. Furthermore, the housing part 2 has at the end of the channel-shaped recess 9 a projection 15, via which the actuating member can be pushed over during assembly, but which then prevents the actuating member from falling out.

If the electrical conductor consists of a fine-stranded strand, the actuator 10 is depressed. In any case, the electrical conductor is laterally well guided through the legs 11 and 12 of the actuating member 10 which extend far into the receiving space 3 for the conductor. Due to the inclined position of the actuating member when the electrical conductor is inserted, the point of application for the release force to be taken out to remove the electrical conductor is also more favorable than is the case with known connecting terminals, which in turn has the consequence that, despite the higher clamping force achieved, as for the Contact parts used here without galvanic coating is required, the release force does not have to be increased in comparison with other known terminals of this type. This is an important point, especially when using the connection terminal for installation equipment, because the loosening force here must not be too high.
