  • the art of printing by offset lithography involves the use of thin, flexible plates which are basically planographic, that is without relief, and which are treated so that the surfaces have areas which attract or repel oil and water to create areas of image differentiation.
  • To mount the litho plates on the surface of the press plate rolls it is essential to insure that the plate conforms closely to the outer surface of the plate roll. Mounting is usually effected by forming a longitudinal slot in the plate roll and inserting thereinto one of a variety of biasing or clamping devices called lockups. Often the leading edge of the plate is bent back on itself so that the bent portion can fit over the edge formed in the roll by the longitudinal slot and then be held in position by some form of spring or clamp. Alternatively, mechanisms have been provided in which the plate leading edge has been rigidly clamped.

Claims (11)

1. Mécanisme de verrouillage pour maintenir une plaque d'impression flexible (11) sur un cylindre d'impression (10) présentant une fente longitudinale (12, 35) formée dans sa surface (13) pour définir au moins une surface de verrouillage contre-dépouillée (15, 36) contre laquelle les deux extrémités (20, 22) de ladite plaque d'impression flexible (11) sont serrées,
comportant:
des moyens de verrouillage (25, 40) pour serrer les extrémités (20, 22) de ladite plaque d'impression flexible (11) contre ladite surface de verrouillage contre-dépouillée (15, 36) et
des moyens de ressort précontraint (32, 41) agencés en compression opérative entre lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25, 40) et le fond de ladite fente longitudinale (12, 35) pour pousser lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25, 40) extérieurement contre ladite surface de verrouillage contre-dépouillée (15, 36),
caractérisé en ce que
lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25, 40) comprennent une surface externe courbe (26) pour contacter directement les extrémités (20, 22) de ladite plaque d'impression flexible (11) et les serrer contre ladite surface de verrouillage contre-dépouillée (15, 36).
2. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 1, dans lequel lesdits moyens de verrouillage comprennent une pluralité d'éléments de verrouillage individuels (25, 40), espacés essentiellement de manière régulière le long de ladite fente longitudinale (12, 35).
3. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 2, dans lequel lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25, 40) sont de forme essentiellement cylindrique.
4. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 1, dans lequel ladite surface de verrouillage contre-dépouillée (15, 36) est essentiellement plane et le rayon de courbure de la surface externe (26) desdits moyens de verrouillage (25, 40) étant tel qu'il crée essentiellement une ligne de contact entre lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25, 40) et ladite surface de verrouillage (15, 36).
5. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 2, dans lequel lesdits moyens d'espacement (30, 38, 43) sont disposés à l'intérieur de ladite fente longitudinale (12, 35) pour recevoir lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25, 40) et lesdits moyens de ressort précontraint (32, 41), de sorte que lesdits éléments de verrouillage (25, 40) sont maintenus dans une position prédéterminée le long de ladite fente longitudinale (12, 35).
6. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 2, dans lequel lesdits moyens de ressort précontraint (41) sont disposés dans des ouvertures de montage (42) formées sur la longueur de ladite fente longitudinale (35).
7. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 2, dans lequel lesdits moyens de ressort précontraint (32) sont montés sur des goupilles d'espacement (31) disposées le long de cette fente longitudinale (12).
8. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 1, dans lequel ladite fente longitudinale (12) définit deux surfaces de verrouillage contredépouillées (15) et lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25) présentant une surface externe incurvée (26) pour contacter simultanément les deux surfaces de verrouillage contre- dépouillées (15).
9. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 3, dans lequel lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25) sont réalisés avec une ouverture (33) pour recevoir une extrémité desdits moyens de ressort précontraint (32).
10. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 1, comprenant une plaque d'impression (11) fixée audit cylindre d'impression (10) par l'extrémité initiale et l'extrémité terminale (20, 22) en contact l'une avec l'autre et serrées entre ladite surface de verrouillage contre-dépouillée (15, 36) et lesdits moyens de verrouillage (25, 40).
11. Mécanisme de verrouillage tel que défini à la revendication 1, dans lequel ladite fente longitudinale (35) définit deux surfaces contre-dépouillées (15) et des moyens de remplissage (52) sont montés à l'intérieur de ladite fente (35) et adjacents à l'une desdites surfaces contre-dépouillées (15) pour contacter lesdits moyens de verrouillage (40) et les isoler de l'une desdites surfaces contre-dépouillés (15).
