Definitions

  • the invention relates to a nonwoven with densified consolidation points or welding spots or the like and fluffy or loose areas located between them, each adjacent consolidation points being offset in height from one another and the fluffy areas bridging these differences in height of the consolidation points.
  • Such a fleece is known from US-A-3 616 157.
  • the production is to take place between two plates provided with knobs, the knobs of one plate each engaging in the spaces between the knobs of the other plate.
  • this publication also mentions production using rolls having knobs.
  • the nonwoven formed in this way has consolidation points lying at different heights and thus in the starting position a greater thickness than a nonwoven with consolidation points lying in about one level from the beginning. Under pressure, however, the consolidation points can be deformed from their different heights into an essentially coincident height. This is favored in the case of a nonwoven according to US Pat. No. 3,616,157, which is formed by stubs which are offset with respect to one another, in that the consolidation points arranged at different altitudes are not only flat in themselves, but are also laterally offset from one another, so that each The consolidation point has so much spacing and loose fibers compared to the adjacent consolidation points that there is practically no inherent stability and the desired greater overall thickness can be lost by stacking during storage.
  • the fleece mentioned at the outset is characterized in that the welding points or consolidation points each have a continuation or a transition into the fluffy areas and are each approximately cap-shaped.
  • the fluffy areas can run obliquely from the consolidation points on one level to those on the other level.
  • the fluffy areas between the consolidation points at different altitudes are correspondingly longer.
  • the welding points or hardening points can be arranged in two mutually vertically offset, approximately parallel planes, and respectively directly adjacent fastening points of the one plane can have a recess between them, the bottom of which represents a hardening point in the parallel plane. In this way, a fleece of defined thickness is obtained with good stabilization at the consolidation points and still great looseness in between.
  • Half of the number of consolidation points can be in one level and the second half in the other level. This can be achieved practically with two rolls processing the fleece, the knobs of which are offset from one another in such a way that the knobs of one roll fit and engage in the spaces between the knobs of the other roll, but maintain a distance between their flanks within which the Fleece remains unprocessed.
  • Another advantageous feature of the fleece according to the invention can be that the extent or area of the consolidation points is smaller than that in a plane of Fortification points is limited space.
  • the consolidation points in different levels result in good stability, but on the other hand the proportion of fluffy areas is large and thus good absorbency.
  • a fleece 1 is provided with compressed fastening points 2 or welding spots and fluffy or loose areas 3 located between them. 3, the consolidation points 2 and the fluffy areas 3 lie practically in one plane, so that such a fleece is relatively thin after its completion, it is provided in the fleece according to the invention according to FIG. 2 that adjacent to each other Solidification points 2 are offset in height from each other and the fluffy areas 3 bridge the height differences of these consolidation points 2.
  • FIGS. 2 and 3 clearly shows that a fleece 1 of considerable thickness can thereby be produced, which can therefore also have a correspondingly good cushioning or suction effect.
  • the consolidation points 2 each lie on the opposite top sides and thus protect the fleece 1.
  • Fig. 2 makes it clear that the welding points or consolidation points 2 are arranged in two mutually vertically offset, approximately parallel planes. In each case adjacent consolidation points 2 of one level have between them a depression 4, the bottom of which represents or has a consolidation point 2 in the parallel plane. In this way it follows that half of the number of consolidation points 2 in the one level and the second half is on the other level.
  • the extent of the area of the consolidation points 2 is smaller than the space delimited in each plane by such consolidation points 2, and the fluffy areas 3 run obliquely from the consolidation points 2 on one level to those on the other level. In this way, they can absorb much larger deformation paths, so that the softness and suppleness of the fleece 1 according to the invention is considerably increased compared to a conventional fleece according to FIG. 3.
  • Another advantage of this arrangement and shape of the fleece is that at a pressure approximately perpendicular to the planes in which the consolidation points 2 are located, the loose and fluffy areas 3 are even compressed and possibly increased in their actual thickness, so that their absorbency can even increase somewhat.
  • stiffening or welding points 2 offset from one another in height and the fluffy areas located between them is that this Fleece can be brought into this form in a single operation, namely during its solidification and spot welding, and subsequent embossing of the fleece is avoided, in which there is a risk that fluffy areas in particular could be pressed and buckled and would thus lose their volume.
