Description

So far, there is a large number of closures for all of the types of packaging listed, most of which are tailored to the respective packaging or container, with the part of the closure on the container or packaging side preferably directly from the container or. The object of the invention is to provide a closure which can be used in connection with a wide variety of packaging and containers, wherein for the same opening sizes the same packaging-side closure parts can also be provided, but there should be the possibility, depending on the need, of differently assigned and possibly differently fastening lid to use, e.g. B. a barrel closed with a self-engaging top lid or with the help of a tensioning ring closed barrel subsequently closed with a screw-on lid.

Additional fields of application of the closure according to the invention are wound cardboard drums to which the sleeve of the closure part on the container side can be attached by pressing, gluing or coiling. Claims (2)

1. A means for closing the openings of wide-necked containers (10), buckets, drums or the like, the openings having a collar for fitting a cover which is attached with interposition of a seal (1) pressing on the edge of the collar, the closure means on the container side having a sleeve (11) for mounting on the collar and with a screwthread (3) extending from an annular flange (6) to the edge of the collar, characterised in that the annular flange (6) is a border ring for attaching a clamping ring (5), and at least one through opening (4) and an associated locking lug (7) or the like are provided in the annular flange (6) in extension of the thread part (3) on the side of the sleeve (11) remote from the thread (3), so that the sleeve (11) can optionally be used with a cover (2) comprising a cap thread, a cover (2a) comprising a border ring for a clamping ring (5) also surrounding the annular flange (6), a cover (2) with cap thread and border ring or a cover (2b, 2c) comprising at least one retaining lug (8) for inserting through the opening (4) in the annular flange and engaging in the lug (7).
