Description

The invention relates to a bung from a metallic material with at least one bung hole, which surrounds a collar formed from the material of the bung, which has at least one locking element for holding a bung plug that seals the bung hole, and on which a sealing surface is provided between which and the bung plug a sealing element for sealing the bung hole can be inserted.

Sheet piling made of metallic materials and especially sheet piling made of steel are packaging for liquid, but also for solid, pourable filling goods and are described for example in DIN 6643. In addition, reference is made to this German industrial standard with regard to all the details that are not explained in more detail here.

By definition, sheet pans have an opening which is smaller than the inside diameter of the container and which is used for filling, emptying and venting the container. This opening is usually by means of a Lockable safety lock. For this purpose, the bung container usually has a so-called Tri-Sure flange and a corresponding sealing plug. For the formation of this flange and the associated sealing plug, reference is made to DIN 6643, part 2.

DIN 6643, Teil 2, V1 Sicherheitsverschluß).The Tri-Sure flange is manufactured as a separate part regardless of the actual container. The flange is inserted into a container by an immersion process, in which a seal adapted to the contents must be inserted between the container wall and the flange (cf. DIN 6643, Part 2, V1 safety closure).

This known safety flange has a number of disadvantages due to its design:
On the one hand, the production is complex because the flange is produced independently of the container. On the other hand, due to the immersion process, the pressure resistance of the flange is comparatively low.

For example, from the American publication US-A 2 337 456 a bung can be seen which can be regarded as the closest prior art to the invention.

Thus, in the known sheet piling containers, the problem generally arises that, on the one hand, the bung hole should be securely closed in a liquid-tight manner, but on the other hand the manufacturing costs should be as low as possible. In addition, the bung closure should be protected as well as possible against external influences, such as occur, for example, when the bung container is rudely turned on the bung.

The invention has for its object to develop a bung container with at least one bung hole, which can be closed in a liquid-tight manner by means of a bung plug, in such a way that the container is easy to manufacture with great pressure resistance. The bung container according to the invention should continue to be able to meet DIN 6643.

An inventive solution to this problem is characterized in claim 1. Developments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.

According to the invention, in order to protect the bung plug, a bulge, which is made from the material of the bung container and whose height is greater than that of the collar, surrounds the collar in the immediate vicinity of the bung hole.

Since the sealing surface is always provided on a container part which is formed in one piece with the container wall, no leaks can occur between the container wall and the sealing surface. In particular in the variant characterized in claim 3, in which the locking element is attached to a ring which is permanently connected to the collar, for example by a welded connection, the tightness is not important, but only on the strength of the permanent connection.

Also, the seal provided in conventional Tri-Sure flanges between the container wall and the actual flange element can be omitted even if - as characterized in claim 3 - the locking element is attached to a ring which is permanently connected to the collar. The omission of the seal inserted between the container wall and the flange and adapted to the filling material results in significant manufacturing savings.

The locking element can either be formed in one piece with the collar (claim 2) or can be formed by means of a much simpler manufacturing process than immersion, such as welding (claim 8), to connect to the collar.

The one-piece design further simplifies production, since there is no need to produce the flange or locking element in a separate production step. In this case, it is particularly preferred if the locking element according to claim 9 is introduced into the collar by means of a non-cutting method, since then the collar wall is not weakened.

Regardless of whether the locking element is made in one piece with the collar or as a separate part, which is connected, for example, to the collar via welding points, the locking element can, for example, have an internal thread on the inside of the collar, and an external thread on the Outside of the collar or a bayonet-engaging element according to claim 7, to which corresponding counter-elements on the plug are assigned.

For manufacturing reasons, it is preferred if the thread and in particular the internal thread extends only over part of the circumference of the collar or the additional ring. Furthermore, depending on the application, it may be preferred if the locking elements are designed in such a way that "standard bung plugs" can be used.

It is further preferred if, for the seal between the collar and the plug, according to the invention, the collar and the plug have a (flat) contact surface (claim 10) between which the sealing element can be used, which can be, for example, an O-ring .

The collar can protrude outwards or inwards, depending on whether the full emptiness of the sheet container (claim 12) or the protection of the closure from damage (claim 13) are in the foreground.

To protect the plug, an additional support ring can be provided as an alternative to the configuration according to the invention (claim 14).

A stiffening of the sheet container according to the invention in the bunghole area can also be achieved in that the collar according to claim 15 in the manner of an "S" is bent both outwards and inwards.

Fig. 1 shows a first embodiment of the invention, in which the collar is "molded" out of the metallic material, for example a steel alloy of the container lid 1, and in which the locking element 21 on the collar 2 is an external thread introduced into the latter, into which an the plug 3 provided internal screw 31 is screwed. Furthermore, the collar 2 has a bead-like elevation 2 ', the stiffening of the sheet area and the better emptying of the sheet container serves.

The embodiments shown in the partial figures a and b differ in the arrangement of the sealing surfaces 62 and 63 provided on the collar 2 and the sealing element 6 designed as an O-ring. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1a, the O-ring 3 ″ lies on the inside ", so that the screw connection remains" dry ", while in the embodiment shown in Fig. 1b the O-ring 6 rests on the bead-like elevation 1 '. Regardless of the different arrangement of the sealing surfaces 62 and 63 and the sealing element 6, the sealing function is ensured in both embodiments regardless of the tightness of the threaded connection.

Fig. 2 shows a second embodiment of the invention, in which the collar 2 has an internal thread 21 as a locking element and, corresponding to the bung plug 3 as an opposing element, an external thread 31. The collar 2 is not formed out of the container lid 1 ″, but is produced by pressing the material of the container lid 1.

The embodiments shown in FIGS. 2a and 2b differ in the arrangement of the sealing element 6, which is again in the form of an O-ring, and the sealing surfaces 62 and 63 on the collar 2 and on the bung plug 3, respectively. the exact design of the sealing surfaces is expressly referred to the drawing.

The embodiment shown in Fig. 2a has the advantage that with a suitable shape and cord thickness of the O-ring 6, the complementary curvature of the collar 1 results in a comparatively large contact surface, while the embodiment shown in Fig. 2b has the advantage that the O-ring 6 is guided in a groove on the plug 3.

Fig. 3 zeigt ein drittes Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung, bei dem der Kragen 2 wie bei dem Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Fig. 1 durch Bördeln, Tiefziehen, Pressen etc. aus dem Material aus dem Behälterdeckels 1 "herausgeformt" worden ist; anders als bei dem Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Fig. 1 weist der Kragen 2 jedoch als Verriegelungselement ein Innengewinde 21 auf, das mit einem entsprechenden Außengewinde 31 am Spundstopfen 3 in Eingriff steht.FIG. 3 shows a third exemplary embodiment of the invention, in which the collar 2 has been "shaped" out of the material from the container lid 1 by flanging, deep drawing, pressing, etc., as in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1; unlike in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, the collar 2, however, has an internal thread 21 as a locking element, which is in engagement with a corresponding external thread 31 on the bung plug 3.

The embodiments shown in FIGS. 3a to 3h differ in the arrangement of the sealing element, again formed as an O-ring 6, and the corresponding sealing surfaces 62 on the collar 2 and 63 on the bung plug 3. of the various possible embodiments, reference is expressly made to the drawing. Furthermore, the different embodiments differ in the design of the collar, which partially has bead-like stiffeners, but in other embodiments is as simple as possible to simplify production.

The embodiments shown in FIGS. 3b and 3c have the advantage that standard plug 3 with standard threads (2 "and 3/4 inches) can be used.

In the embodiments shown in FIGS. 3a to 3c, which enable the use of standard plug 3, the sealing element lies at the extreme end of the threaded connection.

The embodiments shown in FIGS. 3d to 3f also have an external sealing element 6; however, the sealing element 6 and the sealing surfaces 61 and 62 are arranged such that the sealing function is ensured regardless of the threaded connection. The individual embodiments differ only in the shape of the collar 2 and the plug 3.

In the embodiments shown in FIGS. 3g and 3h, the O-ring 6 is arranged "before" the threaded connection, so that it remains "dry".

Fig. 4 shows a fourth embodiment of the invention, in which the collar 2 is introduced not in the outside but in the form of a "U". As a locking element, the collar in turn has an internal thread 21, to which a corresponding external winch 31 on the plug 3 is assigned. Furthermore, 2 bores 22 are provided in the collar, which ensure that the bung container can be completely emptied. The embodiment shown in FIG. 4b differs from the embodiment according to FIG. 4a in that a flat bearing surface 62 is provided on the collar 2.

In the exemplary embodiments described above, only threads have been used as locking elements 21 on the collar on 2 and as locking counter-elements 31 on bung plug 3. Of course, however, it is possible to provide other locks, for example a bayonet locking mechanism, instead of threaded connections.

Dabei sind in Teilfigur a jeweils eine Aufsicht auf den Spundbereich und in den Teilfiguren b bzw, c Schnitte bei B-B und A-A in der Teilfigur a dargestellt.5a to 5c, 6a to 6c and 7a to 7c show three variants of a bayonet locking mechanism. Are there in partial figure a, a top view of the bung area and in partial figures b and, respectively, sections at BB and AA in partial figure a.

Als Überdrehschutz des Spundstopfens 3 sind an diesem Laschen 32 angebracht.5 shows an embodiment of a bayonet locking mechanism with an external connection of the bung plug 3 to the collar 2. Both the collar 2 and the bung plug 3 have suitable locking elements 21 and 31, respectively, shown in the drawing. The arrangement of the sealing element, again designed as an O-ring 6, is selected so that it cannot be displaced by internal or external pressure. To prevent overturning of the plug 3, tabs 32 are attached to this.

The embodiment shown in FIG. 6 differs from the embodiment shown in FIG. 5 in that the connection of the bung plug 3 to the collar 2 is on the inside. The position of the sealing element 6 is in turn designed so that it cannot be displaced by the contents. In the same way as in the fifth exemplary embodiment, tabs 32 are provided as an anti-rotation device.

The embodiment shown in FIG. 7 differs from the embodiment shown in FIG. 6 and largely corresponds to the embodiment of FIG. 5, but it has a different shape spec. in the sealing area.

In any case, the slope of the bayonet connection can be selected so that the desired prestressing of the seal is achieved. It is of particular importance in the bung container according to the invention that the bung plug connection is used for the manufacture of the bayonet flange no additional material is required since the flange can be completely molded out of the container lid 1.

All of the exemplary embodiments described above have in common that this is the so-called sheet pile flange, i.e. the collar 2 including the locking elements 21 on the collar is completely molded out of the material of the container lid 1.

Exemplary embodiments are described below, in which the collar 2 is still worked out on the container lid 1, but in which additional stiffening and / or elements which carry the locking elements are attached to the collar and / or the container lid.

Fig. 8a bis 8c zeigen Varianten eines achten Ausführungsbeispiels, bei denen ein Stützring 7 am Behälterdeckel 1 angebracht ist, der den Kragen 2 von außen stützt und so die Berstsicherheit erhöht.8a to 8c show variants of an eighth exemplary embodiment, in which a support ring 7 is attached to the container lid 1, which supports the collar 2 from the outside and thus increases the safety against bursting.

In the embodiments shown in FIGS. 8a and 8b, the support ring 7 is “flanged” to the collar 2, in the example shown in FIG. 8c, however, is welded tight by means of welding spots 71. Otherwise, the variants shown differ in the shape of the collar and the position and design of the sealing element 6 and the sealing surfaces. For this purpose, reference is expressly made to the graphic representation.

Zur Vermeidung von Wiederholungen wird bezüglich der sonstigen Merkmale dieses Ausführungsbeispiels auf die Beschreibung zu den Fig. 5 bis 7 verwiesen.FIGS. 9a to 9c show in a representation similar to that of FIGS. 5 to 7 an embodiment with a bayonet lock and additionally with welding spots or one Weld seam 71 welded support ring 7 to increase the burst resistance. To avoid repetition, reference is made to the description of FIGS. 5 to 7 with regard to the other features of this exemplary embodiment.

Die Lage der Dichtung ist so gewählt, daß sie unabhängig vom eingebrachten Ring 4 ist.10a and 10b show embodiments of a further exemplary embodiment of the invention, in which a collar 2 is in turn formed from the material of the container lid 1, into which a ring 4 with an internal thread 21 is introduced, which is held on the circumference by welding spots 41. The position of the seal is chosen so that it is independent of the ring 4 introduced.

In the embodiment shown in Fig. 10b, the thread (e.g. 3/4 "or 2") and the position of the seal 6 are selected such that commercially available bung plugs 3 can be used, and the sealing function is independent of the internal threaded ring 4.

Die Fig. 11a bis 11c zeigen Ausführungsformen eines Ausführungsbeispiels mit "verkürzter" Kragenhöhe.11a to 11c show embodiments of an embodiment with a "shortened" collar height.

In the variant shown in FIG. 11 a, the collar 2 is produced by simply flanging the material of the container 1 outwards, which forms the sealing surface. An inwardly extending threaded ring 4 is attached to the flange by welding spots 41 on the circumference.

The variants shown in FIGS. 11b and 11c differ from the variant shown in FIG. 11a by the shape of the flanging and thus the arrangement of the sealing surface or the sealing element 6. Furthermore, 4 holes 22 are provided in the attached ring, one of which allow complete emptying of the container. Farther the internal thread on the ring 4 is designed so that commercially available bung plugs can be used.

Auf den Behälterdeckel 1 ist ein Innengewindering 4 aufgesetzt und mit Schweißpunkten 41 befestigt.12a to 12f show locking options in which the collar 2 is produced by simply flanging it outwards. An internal threaded ring 4 is placed on the container lid 1 and fastened with welding points 41.

The seal is independent of the threaded connection between the plug 3 and ring 4 by a seal 6 between the plug 3 and the collar 2 created by flanging.

In the variant shown in FIG. 12a, the internal threaded ring 4 is turned out on one side in order to achieve the largest possible internal diameter.

The variant shown in FIG. 12b has a similar structure, but additionally has a flange on ring 4, which permits the use of resistance welding for fastening.

The variant according to FIG. 12c has no turning on the ring 4, so that it is simpler in terms of production technology.

The variants according to FIGS. 12d to 12f are constructed similarly to the variant shown in FIG. 12c, and differ essentially only in the design of the flange and thus the seal 6.

Various exemplary embodiments, which in particular have improved burst protection, are to be discussed below with reference to FIGS. 13 to 19:
13 shows an embodiment in which the collar 2 is produced by deep-drawing an annular protuberance from the unperforated container material 1 with subsequent punching and further deep-drawing. For example, a 2 "or 3/4" thread is pressed into the double wall produced in this way. The thread design and the position of the sealing surface are selected such that common bung plugs 3 can be used. With 22 there are corresponding holes in the "double" collar 2, which allow a complete emptying of the container.

Fig. 14 zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel ähnlich dem Ausführungsbeispiel gemäß Fig. 13, bei dem durch eine zusätzliche ringförmige Ausstülpung 2' in Art einer Sicke oder dgl. ein verbesserter Berstschutz erreicht wird.FIG. 14 shows an exemplary embodiment similar to the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 13, in which an improved burst protection is achieved by an additional annular protuberance 2 'in the manner of a bead or the like.

Ansonsten ist dieses Ausführungsbeispiel weitgehend ähnlich den Ausführungsbeispielen gemäß Fig. 14 oder 15.15 shows an exemplary embodiment in which the protuberance 2 forming the collar is designed such that it largely shields the plug 3 when the container falls down. Otherwise, this exemplary embodiment is largely similar to the exemplary embodiments according to FIG. 14 or 15.

Die Unterschiede zwischen den Fig. 16 und 17 liegen in der Abfolge der einzelnen Wandteile.16 and 17 also show the exemplary embodiments according to FIG. 13, in which the ring-shaped protuberance is pressed outwards until the three walls lie next to one another without an intermediate gap by means of an additional shaping process. Then the thread can be pressed in. The differences between FIGS. 16 and 17 lie in the sequence of the individual wall parts.

Die Fig. 18 und 19 zeigen Ausführungsbeispiele, bei denen Bajonett-Verschlüsse einmal durch einen entsprechenden, den Spundstopfen 3 überragenden Wulst 2' und einmal durch einen zusätzlichen angeschweißten Stützring 7 zusätzlich geschützt sind.18 and 19 show exemplary embodiments in which bayonet catches are additionally protected once by a corresponding bead 2 ′ projecting beyond the plug 3 and once by an additional welded-on support ring 7.

In the following, the manufacture of a sheet pile container according to the invention will be briefly explained with reference to FIGS. 20a to 20d, which show a flange according to the invention in a side view, in a top view, in a further side view and in perspective:
Threaded segments 21 are used to fasten the sealing plug 3. These threaded segments are produced with thread-like punches 10 which press the collar wall 2 against a corresponding threaded mandrel 11. While the stamp presses 10 parts of the collar wall into the threaded mandrel, the remaining flange areas are fixed in a form-fitting manner by correspondingly designed radial hold-down devices 12. With the help of an axial hold-down device 13, the cover 1 and the collar 2 are positioned and held during the thread production. The mandrel is then unscrewed.

The provision of recesses between the threaded segments ensures that the now segmented mandrel can be axially moved out by rotating it by a corresponding angle.

A further improvement in production is achieved if axially movable slides are provided in the recesses between the thread segments. This has the advantage that when pressing the thread with the thread punches in the segmented mandrel through the slide the unworked wall of the collar 2 can be supported, and then the mandrel can be extended from the flange as described above.

The sealing surface 61 is supported during manufacture by suitable receptacles so that it keeps its shape within permissible tolerances.

To increase the burst and buckling resistance of the flange, integrated and / or additional shaping work can be provided during production, for example, with which additional stiffening beads are produced.
