Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a closure cap made of plastic, in particular for glass containers, with gripper segments connected to a jacket part spanning the container opening via material weak points and pivotable into a vertical position with mutually complementary profiling in the closed position on the mutually facing side surfaces.
From CH-A-373 975 a crown closure is known, in which segments starting from a base via an annular groove are connected to one another in the closed state of the crown cap by means of tongues and grooves in the side surfaces thereof. This closure is opened either with the aid of a crown closure opener via a predetermined breaking point provided on the edge of the closure part or via a tear-off tab and a tear-off ring integrated in the closure. The segments are pressed against the bottle neck from a position inclined at approximately 30 °. The demolding closure caps produced in this way at an angle of 30 °, however, require considerable effort in their manufacture due to the undercuts and grooves in the segments.
A closure cap made of plastic, in particular for injection and infusion bottles, is described in DE-U 88 05 665. In the starting position, this cap has horizontal, curved, rectangular gripper segments. With the intended design and arrangement of the gripper segments, a homogeneous design of the gripper closing part is not possible since the side surfaces of the gripper segments do not overlap, but only abut each other. If crushing of material in the area of the connection point to the jacket part is to be avoided, a certain distance between the segments is necessary. The segments pivoted against the bottle neck can therefore not be locked by mutual welding, but must be done by means of a separate securing element (securing ring). A non-positive connection is made here just as little as with the solution according to the Swiss patent specification.
The invention has for its object a closure cap made of plastic, in particular for glass containers, with gripper segments connected to a jacket part via material weak points and pivotable into a vertical position with one another in the closed position on the mutually facing side surfaces to create additional profiling, which, starting from a rationally manufactured closure cap with horizontal gripper segments in the starting position, enables its intimate connection to form a closed outer surface in the vertical closed position.
This object is achieved in that the side surfaces of the gripper segments are chamfered in a closure cap of the type shown and thereby overlap each other in the closed position, while the material weak point between the jacket part and the gripper segment to the respective edge region of the gripper segment is either closed by a material accumulation or is kept clear by a notch. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the gripper segments are welded to one another in the closed position in the region of their overlapping side surfaces and mutually complementary profiles. In a further embodiment of the invention, the gripper segments have inwardly directed gripping edges which grip under the bottle neck and form a captive locking part in the closed position, wherein the profiling of the gripper segments can consist of mutually complementary, form-fitting interlocking hooks and receptacles. It is expedient if the gripper segments are horizontally formed on the casing part in the starting position. It is particularly advantageous to provide the material weak point between the jacket part and the gripper segments on the outer and inner circumference with a molded bevel. With a special one According to an embodiment of the invention, the gripper segments are rectangular in plan view and arc-shaped in cross-section, a tab being formed on the gripper segments.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, a cover part which exposes a seal or an opening is provided in the jacket part and has an annular, outwardly projecting clamping lip on the inside, which is provided on its circumference with curved, outwardly projecting bulges which run out to the beginning of the inside part of the cover. A ring can be formed on the outside of the cover part, which is cylindrical on the inner circumference and runs out in an arcuate and / or chamfer shape on the outer circumference inwards to the cylindrical inner circumference.
