Definitions
- the invention relates to a joint for a cover consisting of a plurality of segments which can be pivoted relative to one another, and to a segment adapted to it, according to claim 15.
- the invention is therefore based on the object to provide a joint and a segment adapted for the relevant covers, with which a risk of injury is excluded for any pivoting angle, regardless of the side from which the cover is accessible, the structure should be made in this way that it can be maintained for all realistic cover designs.
- a simple assembly of the hinges of the joint results from the fact that the convex end face of one segment is curved approximately cylindrically, the cylinder axis being at least in the vicinity of the joint axis arranged on the inside of this segment.
- the radius of curvature of the convex end surface of one segment preferably corresponds at least to the distance between the hinge axis and the outer surface of this segment.
- the hinge axis of the hinge is advantageously arranged eccentrically with respect to the convex end face of the segment in such a way that the gap width increases slightly during pivoting, but always remains below a predetermined maximum distance.
- end surface of the other segment is expediently concave, it being advantageous if both end surfaces are concentric surfaces in the non-pivoted state.
- cover wings according to claim 9 it is ensured that even on the inside of the cover on which the hinge axis is arranged, any risk of crushing due to a closing cavity is reliably excluded.
- the convex section can be enlarged, so that even at pivoting angles of up to 180 °, the gap between the concave end face of a segment and the convex end face or the profile segment strip of an adjacent segment is not greater than becomes a predetermined safety distance.
- a seal can be seated on at least one of the end faces, which is arranged, for example, near the outer edge of the end face and seals and ensures the gap between them even when the segments are fully pivoted, that the end faces continue to overlap at their opposite edge sections when the segments are fully pivoted.
- Stiffeners are expediently provided in the area of the joints, which support the sheet metal jacket when fastening the hinges, the fastening screws engaging in a sheet metal web of a plastic carrier tape. This construction reliably prevents the segments from deforming when the fastening screws are tightened.
- adjacent segments 1 and 2 of a cover are arranged according to FIG. 1 (dashed lines) in the closed position of the cover aligned vertically one above the other in one plane, which results in a horizontal division pattern of the door.
- a lower end surface 4 of the segment 1 is opposite an upper end surface 5 of the segment 2. Both end faces are approximately cylindrically curved and, in the closed position, run concentrically to an articulation axis 3, a largely constant distance d being maintained between the end faces 4 and 5, which should be at least 1 mm.
- the drawn mutual position of the segments 1 and 2 is ensured by a large number of hinges 11 which are connected to one another by hinge arms 9 and 10 along the end faces 4 and 5 at a mutual distance, i.e. are attached in the pivoting direction of the segments 1 and 2.
- Each hinge 11 has a longer hinge arm 9 and a shorter hinge arm 10, the longer one extending from the hinge axis 3 to the upper segment 1 and being mounted thereon, while the shorter arm 10 is mounted on the lower segment 2.
- the hinges 11 are designed and fastened to the segments 1 and 2 such that the pivot axis 3 is arranged on the inside of the lower segment 2 and at a distance from the upper edge of this segment which is approximately the distance between the Hinge axis and the outside of segment 2 corresponds.
- the distance between the hinge axis 3 and the upper edge of the lower segment 2 could of course also be chosen to be smaller. Care must be taken to ensure that even with fully pivoted segments (see FIGS. 1, 2) there is no gap between the end faces 4 and 5 that exceeds a predetermined maximum value.
- the direction of movement when opening or closing the door is perpendicular to the hinge axis 3 of the hinge 11.
- the two end faces 4 and 5 are rounded at their outer edges 7 and 8 which are seated on the outside of the cover. Furthermore, the outer edges are at a distance e (for example at least 4 mm) from one another, which is dimensioned such that a pinching of a fin gerspitze is not possible and that the apparent from Fig. 7, formed on the side surfaces of the segments horizontal recess pattern is retained.
- e for example at least 4 mm
- protrusions are advantageously formed in the region of the lateral edges A, B of the concave end surface, which projections extend in the non-pivoted state in the direction of the adjacent convex end surface 5.
- at least one of the projections A, B forms a gap with the end face 5 which is below the permissible width d. This construction leaves enough space between the projections A, B, for example to arrange a seal 25 there.
- the hinge axis 3 is expediently arranged eccentrically to the end faces (4, 5), so that the gap width, which can be constant in the closed state of the cover, can be influenced in a targeted manner during the pivoting. 2, the gap width in the closed state in the end regions A and B of the end faces 4 and 5 is minimal.
- the articulation axis 3 is displaced in the direction of the upper edge (g), the gap tapers during the pivoting in the pivoting direction ⁇ .
- one or the other direction of displacement can be advantageous in order to exclude seal constraints.
- cover wings 12 are attached to the side edges of the hinge 11 and close off the gusset space 6 to the outside ( see Fig. 3).
- a profile segment strip 13 can be attached between two adjacent hinges 11 on the inside of each convex segment section 5 according to FIGS. 4 to 6.
- Their convex end surface 14 adjoins the convex end surface 5 of the segment 2 in such a way that the concave end surface 4 of the adjacent segment 1 overlaps at least partially with a region of the convex end surface 14 even at pivot angles greater than 90 °.
- the radius of curvature of the end surface 14 is approximately equal to that of the end surface 5 of the segment 2. In this way, even at large swivel angles, there is no gap exceeding the maximum dimension (see FIG. 6).
- the gusset space 6 of the hinge 11 is covered by the profile segment strips 13, so that no cover wings 12 (see FIG. 3) have to be attached.
- a particularly simple structure (see FIG. 5) of the joint according to the invention results if a one-armed hinge is arranged between two profile segment sections 13 ', 13'.
- the hinge arm 9 moves during the pivoting within a recess 38 formed on the two adjoining profile segment sections, on the side surfaces 37 of which receptacles 15 are provided for mounting the hinge axis 3.
- the receptacle 15 is preferably fork-shaped so that the hinge axis 3 can be inserted laterally into the receptacle 15 without tools.
- the recess 38 can be formed in a one-piece profile segment strip 13 or by two profile segment strip sections 13 ', 13' (see FIG. 5) joined together, wherein the receptacle 15 can be formed in one piece with the profile segment strip.
- the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 8 enables the sheet metal coil method to be used, in which the raw material for a first 18 and a second sheet metal jacket part 19 is wound into coils.
- the two sheet metal jacket blanks continuously withdrawn from the coils are first brought into the desired profile by profile pressing and then positioned together with the plastic carrier tape 20 also available as roll material in FIG. 7, the plastic carrier tape 20 being at the upper and lower ends of each Segments, each in a V-shaped recess 26 formed by the first and second sheet metal jacket 18, 19.
- the cavity 22 enclosed by the first 18 and second sheet metal jacket 19 and the plastic carrier tape 20 is foamed with a PUR foam system.
- the cavity is completely closed, so that the pressure build-up during foaming is simplified.
- the undercuts formed in the cavity on the two-part sheet metal jacket 18, 19 and on the plastic carrier tape 20 in Area of the end faces are back-foamed and thus contribute to a positive connection of the segment components.
- the strip material goes through a curing section and is then cut to the desired size.
- the sheet metal web 21 inserted into the plastic carrier tape 20 is used to fasten the hinge screws, with the spacer sleeve 23 preventing the panel profile from being deformed by tightening the screws.
- the segments produced by this process are characterized by high strength and low weight. Very good insulation properties are achieved by using PUR foam as the carrier material.
- a plastic carrier tape 20 is arranged between the two sheet metal jacket parts 18, 19 in the region of the end faces 4, 5, i.e. the jacket parts have no direct points of contact with one another. Due to the poor thermal conductivity of the plastic material, the heat loss due to heat conduction in the jacket area is significantly reduced (thermal separation).
- Recesses 24 are formed in the plastic carrier tape 20, into which seals 25, preferably soft lip seals, can be inserted. Through this, the gap between two adjacent panels remains closed in each pivot position.
- the seals 25 are provided both in the convex 5 and in the concave end surface 4 of the segments and are in each case in contact with the corresponding end surface of the adjacent panels.
- the end portions 27, 28 of the two-part sheet metal jacket 18, 19 form an essentially at the concave end surface Lichen V-shaped recess 26 that opens towards the end face 4.
- the end section 28 of the first sheet metal jacket 18 is shaped such that it partially engages around the free end of the end section 27 of the second sheet metal jacket 19 at a predetermined distance.
- a thickening is formed which carries a support arm 31 and an arcuate leg 32, the free ends of which extend in the direction of the recess 24.
- the two-part sheet metal jacket 18, 19 and the plastic carrier tape 20 are joined together in such a way that the plastic carrier tape 20 abuts on the V-shaped recess 26 with its side surface adjoining the leg 32.
- the arcuate leg 32 engages behind the end section 27, its free end 34 being supported on the end section 27 and the middle section 33 on the encompassing end section 28.
- the support arm 31 of the plastic carrier tape 26 lies against the end section of the first sheet metal jacket part 18.
- the end face 35 with the recess 24 for receiving a seal is aligned with the concave end face 4, a shoulder 36 formed in the region of the end face 35 being supported on the transition region between the V-shaped recess 26 and the end face 4.
- a plastic carrier tape 20 is likewise arranged in the convex end face 5 of the segment, the structure being in principle identical to the arrangement described above (see FIG. 8).
- the seals 25 can also be made in one piece with the plastic carrier tape 20 and / or only on one end surface of two adj barter segments are formed.
- a hinge for a cover that is movable on a curved path. This is divided by the joints into segments which can be pivoted relative to one another about the joint axis.
- the end faces of two adjacent segments are each designed such that the gap between them does not exceed a predetermined maximum value during the pivoting of the segments.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a joint for a cover consisting of a plurality of segments which can be pivoted relative to one another, and to a segment adapted to it, according to
Known covers of this type, which serve, for example, as sectional doors for garages, are rolled out of the opening area on a curved path and are brought from their vertical position into a horizontal position. In the configuration of the cover as a folding door, folding window, roller shutter or the like, it is necessary to mount individual segments so that they can be pivoted against one another over a wide angle. In the known joints provided for this purpose between the segments of these covers, a gap is formed between the segments during the relative pivoting, which gap closes again when the opening area is closed. This creates a considerable risk of injury for the user if he accidentally reaches into such a closing gap during the closing process. This risk of crushing is also present in the case of covers of this type which are operated automatically or even remotely.
Attempts have already been made - AT-PS 167-88 - to counteract this risk of crushing by appropriately designing the segments and the joint. For this purpose, one of the end faces of the segments was made convex, whereas the opposite end face of the adjacent segment had a convex end face. With this solution, however, the maximum swivel angle was limited, so that the area of application remained limited to special covers. When producing covers of the type mentioned at the outset, there was the disadvantage that different joint designs had to be used for different covers.
The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a joint and a segment adapted for the relevant covers, with which a risk of injury is excluded for any pivoting angle, regardless of the side from which the cover is accessible, the structure should be made in this way that it can be maintained for all realistic cover designs.
This object is achieved with the features specified in the characterizing part of
This design of the end surfaces of the segments and the arrangement of the hinge axis at a distance from the convex end surface allows the gap between the end surfaces to be kept practically arbitrarily narrow when the segments are pivoted, so that any risk of crushing is avoided by the penetration of a finger into the gap becomes impossible.
A simple assembly of the hinges of the joint results from the fact that the convex end face of one segment is curved approximately cylindrically, the cylinder axis being at least in the vicinity of the joint axis arranged on the inside of this segment.
The radius of curvature of the convex end surface of one segment preferably corresponds at least to the distance between the hinge axis and the outer surface of this segment.
The hinge axis of the hinge is advantageously arranged eccentrically with respect to the convex end face of the segment in such a way that the gap width increases slightly during pivoting, but always remains below a predetermined maximum distance. With this embodiment, deviations from the target manufacturing dimensions, in particular in the area of the end faces, can be compensated for and thus a possible blocking of the pivoting movement by touching the adjacent end faces can be prevented.
The end surface of the other segment is expediently concave, it being advantageous if both end surfaces are concentric surfaces in the non-pivoted state.
With the cover wings according to
By attaching profile segment strips in the area of the convex end face of each segment, the convex section can be enlarged, so that even at pivoting angles of up to 180 °, the gap between the concave end face of a segment and the convex end face or the profile segment strip of an adjacent segment is not greater than becomes a predetermined safety distance.
A particularly simple structure of the subject of the application is obtained if, according to
To prevent water, dust and the like from penetrating into the inside of the cover, a seal can be seated on at least one of the end faces, which is arranged, for example, near the outer edge of the end face and seals and ensures the gap between them even when the segments are fully pivoted, that the end faces continue to overlap at their opposite edge sections when the segments are fully pivoted.
The development according to
Excellent insulation properties are achieved by thermal separation of the two-part sheet metal jacket by means of a plastic carrier tape according to
Stiffeners are expediently provided in the area of the joints, which support the sheet metal jacket when fastening the hinges, the fastening screws engaging in a sheet metal web of a plastic carrier tape. This construction reliably prevents the segments from deforming when the fastening screws are tightened.
Further advantageous developments are the subject of the remaining claims.

A lower end surface 4 of the
The drawn mutual position of the
The two
Durch diese Konstruktion bleibt zwischen den Vorsprüngen A, B genügend Raum, um dort beispielsweise eine Dichtung 25 anzuordnen.2, protrusions are advantageously formed in the region of the lateral edges A, B of the concave end surface, which projections extend in the non-pivoted state in the direction of the adjacent
If the
The
Fig. 3).As can be seen in FIG. 1, when the
Fig. 6). Fig. 3) angebracht werden müssen. To expand the swivel range of the
A particularly simple structure (see FIG. 5) of the joint according to the invention results if a one-armed hinge is arranged between two profile segment sections 13 ', 13'. The
The exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 8 enables the sheet metal coil method to be used, in which the raw material for a first 18 and a second sheet
Due to the construction of the segment shell according to the invention, the cavity is completely closed, so that the pressure build-up during foaming is simplified. The undercuts formed in the cavity on the two-part
The
The segments produced by this process are characterized by high strength and low weight. Very good insulation properties are achieved by using PUR foam as the carrier material. A
At the end of the
Before foaming, the two-part
Fig. 8).A
The
Only a few exemplary embodiments of the invention have been explained above. However, it is obvious to the person skilled in the art that numerous changes and modifications can be carried out without departing from the scope and the basic idea of the invention.
Disclosed is a hinge for a cover that is movable on a curved path. This is divided by the joints into segments which can be pivoted relative to one another about the joint axis. The end faces of two adjacent segments are each designed such that the gap between them does not exceed a predetermined maximum value during the pivoting of the segments. The structure according to the invention with a two-part segment jacket and a plastic carrier tape carrying a seal, which is arranged in each case on the end faces of the segments, enables the use of a rational manufacturing process, the segment cavity preferably being foamed with a PUR foam system.
