Abstract

A lighting device for household appliances such as ovens, includes an electric lamp socket formed of electrically insulating material preventing leakage currents. Contact parts are disposed in the socket. The socket has an access side with a plug-in opening formed therein into which a lamp with a glass bulb, a lamp base of insulating material and contact prongs protruding from the lamp base is to be plugged into contact with the contact parts in a given plug-in direction. An electrically conductive and protectively grounded protective element covers at least the access side of the lamp socket and extends to the vicinity of at least one of the glass bulb and the lamp base. The protective element and the contact parts are spaced apart by a distance being greater than the length of the contact prongs by a required margin of safety, as seen in the given plug-in direction.

Description

The present invention relates to an electrical lighting device for domestic appliances, such as ovens, with an electrical, contact parts having a lamp holder made of insulating material, into which a lamp having an lamp base made of insulating material can be inserted with its contact pins emanating from this lamp base and can be contacted with the contact parts of the lamp holder is, wherein the insertion opening of the lamp holder protective elements made of electrically insulating material are assigned, which extend over a length of the lamp plug-in movement exceeding the plug-in contact distance or the contact pins with the required safety amount.

Such lighting devices can be independent electrical lights, which are arranged in the household appliances, or they are an integral part of household appliances.

For safety reasons, there is a requirement for such electrical lighting devices that when the lamp is plugged in and plugged in, it may not be possible for current-carrying contact parts to come into contact, even when handled improperly. In addition, it must also be taken into account that sufficient distances between current-carrying parts and touchable areas and other electrically conductive materials are maintained as free space and as an insulating material section, so that there is a risk of electrical flashovers and electrical creepage distances between the current-carrying parts and touchable areas and others electrically conductive parts are largely excluded.

It is required that touchable metallic parts that are connected to a protective conductor must be separated from live parts at an operating voltage of up to 130 V by operational insulation, taking into account an air gap of at least 1.5 mm and a creepage distance above the insulation material of at least 2.0 mm. As overvoltages can also occur in domestic appliances, safety distances from live parts that can be touched in the case of touchable glass bulbs of lamps must be observed, to the extent that, in the worst case, the test point of 2750 V is present on the live parts on this glass bulb not harmful. For this purpose, clearances of at least 8.0 mm and creepage distances of at least 8.0 mm leading over the insulating material must be realized.

In the case of an electrical light for household appliances, for example, measures which have become known can be used (DE-GM 87 11 524), according to which contact protection elements are arranged in the insertion opening of the lamp holder, and these extend over a length of the lamp plug-in movement between the contact pins and the contact plug or contact pins Insert the luminaire into a protective gap that prevents manual access. These contact protection elements are made of electrically insulating material. These contact protection elements are optionally assigned to either the lamp or the lamp base of the electric lamp.

The present invention has for its object to design electrical lighting devices in such a way that both contact with live parts is completely excluded and there is also sufficient protection against the formation of electrical flashovers and creepage distances in the event of overvoltages. In particular, these measures should be usable in connection with small installation dimensions and compact construction, as are usually followed in lighting devices with plug-in sockets, that is to say in particular for so-called low-voltage lamps, for example halogen lamps.

An electrical lighting device which meets these requirements to an outstanding degree is characterized according to the invention in that the leakage currents, which consist of electrically insulating material, are sufficiently exclusive The lamp holder is covered at least on the access side of the lamp holder of the lighting device with an electrically conductive and protective-grounded protective element reaching into the vicinity of the lamp glass bulb or its lamp base, which is made of insulating material, and that the distance between this protective element and the contact parts of the lamp holder is in the plug-in direction of the lamp a required security amount is greater than the length of the contact pins of the lamp.

This measure according to the features according to the invention ensures that a protective-earthed protective element offers reliable protection against contact with the live parts of the lamp holder and the contact pins of the lamp, particularly when they are replaced. In spite of the insulation measures, arcing and leakage currents are certainly made harmless by the measures taken for the operator.

According to a preferred embodiment, the electrical lighting device according to the invention is characterized in that the electrically conductive and protective-earthed protective element is designed like a plate and is arranged on the access side in front of the lamp holder made of electrically insulating material, and is designed with a recess that is corresponding to the cross section of the lamp.

In this context, the circuit-board-like, electrically conductive and protective-grounded protective element can either be tubular or surround the lamp socket made of insulating material, or it can be arranged on struts which lead past the lamp socket made of insulating material. By means of both measures, this electrically conductive protective element is electrically conductively connected to protective-earthed housing parts.

According to a preferred development, the electrical lighting device according to the invention is characterized in that the electrically conductive, protective-earthed protective element is arranged at a spatial distance from the lamp holder made of insulating material. This not only increases the leakage current gap between the electrically conductive parts, but also ensures that this is electrical conductive and thus usually also good heat-conducting protective element also represents a heat shield that shields the contact point between the contact pins of the lamp and the contact parts of the lamp holder. This is particularly desirable when the electrical lighting device is used in ovens. The high baking temperatures put a high load on these connectors.

Exemplary embodiments equipped according to the features of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. Show it:
  • Fig. 1 shows an arrangement with an electrically conductive protective element, which tubularly encloses the lamp socket made of insulating material and
  • Fig. 2 is a shield-like, electrically conductive and protective grounded protective element, which is arranged on the side of the lamp socket made of insulating material past struts.

In the figures, the lighting device according to the invention is shown in each case as an independent lamp, specifically on a greatly enlarged scale.

A lamp holder 2 made of electrically insulating material, for example ceramic, is fastened in a cup-like lamp housing 1 which is open on one side. A lamp 3, usually a low-voltage lamp, is inserted into this lamp holder 2. This lamp 3 has a usually cylindrical lamp bulb 4, which is transferred to a pinched or tapered lamp base 5, and contact pins 6 of length a. In the inserted position of the lamp 3 shown, the contact pins 6 make contact with electrical contact parts 7 of the lamp base, these contact parts 7 extending in the form of contact rails along the contact pins 6 and being pressed against the contact pins 6 by springs 8. The area of contact between the contact parts 7 and the contact pins 6 is referred to below as the plug contact path. Through plug-in openings 9, the contact pins 6 are pre-centered with respect to the contact parts 7. From these plug-in openings 9, the lamp holder 2 has an integrally formed, tubular extension 10 of larger diameter, into which at least a large part of the lamp base 5 fits.

A lens-shaped, transparent glass cover 12 is screwed onto a flange 11 of the lamp housing 1. This glass cover 12 is unscrewed for inserting or replacing the lamp 3. Now e.g. the lamp 3 is pulled out of the lamp holder 2, the danger should be met that there is a manual contact with the contact pins 6 which have not yet been completely detached from the contact parts 7.

In order to avoid this danger, a protective element 13 made of electrically conductive material is arranged above the lamp holder 2 made of insulating ceramic material, which encloses the tubular extension 10 of the lamp holder 2 made of insulating ceramic material in a cylindrical manner in the upper region is brought up to the wall of the lamp base 5 and is connected in an electrically conductive manner to the lamp housing 1 in the lower region via connecting bolts 14 passed through the lamp socket 2 and can thus be grounded with the latter. The length e between the upper edge of the protective element 13 and the first possibility of contact between the contact pins 6 and the contact parts 7 is greater than the length a of the contact pins 6 and the wall thickness of the protective element 13, namely by an amount that corresponds to the required safety distances corresponds. Due to the tubular extension 10 of the lamp holder 2, the distances between the current-carrying parts and the protective-earthed part on the ceramic surface are brought to the required level in order to prevent creepage distances. An air gap is provided between the inner wall of the protective element 13 and the lamp holder 2, in which air convection is possible to a limited extent. As a result of this measure, the electrically conductive and protective-grounded protective element 13 also forms a heat shield with respect to the lamp holder 2, so that in particular the electrical contact points between the contact pins 6 and the contact parts 7 are relieved in terms of heat.

Die anzustrebenden Abstandsverhältnisse entsprechen denen bei der Ausführungsform gemäß Fig. 1.According to FIG. 2, a protection element 17 designed like a circuit board is arranged for protection against contact, which is fastened to the lamp housing 1 via struts 18 and is connected to it in an electrically conductive manner.
