- Fig. 2 shows the gathered tape 13, in which the continuous threads 10 are combined at the tape ends and fixed with a knot 20.
- the gathering results in ruffles or ribbon loops 21 on both sides of the continuous threads 10, which ensure a corresponding ruffling of the clothing fabric.
- FIG. 3 shows the elastic threads 10 are shown running smoothly, while the frills 21 of the band 13 provide for a corresponding frill of a material 22, which is shown in broken lines.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a clothing pleat drawstring, with a thread system consisting of inelastic threads, into which a plurality of threads, unlinked over the entire length of the strip, are drawn in at a distance from one another, which float alternately on both sides of the strip.
Such drawstring tapes are used for frilling and lining up traditional skirts and aprons, for light summer skirts, etc. The incorporation is carried out in such a way that the pleated drawstring is first sewn smoothly between the untied threads running through the likewise smooth fabric. Then these threads are partially pulled out of the band at their ends, the band or the inelastic thread system and the fabric sewn with it being able to be crimped.
If a pleated drawstring is used, for example, on a waistband of a garment, which must ensure that the garment is seated on the wearer, it is necessary to interrupt the waistband with a fastener, for example with a zipper. As a result, the manufacture of such a garment is comparatively complicated and requires an increased amount of material.
In contrast, the invention has for its object to improve the pleat drawstring so that it can be used to manufacture a garment without fastener.
This object is achieved in that two continuous threads consisting of elastic material have a seam gap between them which is larger than the thread spacing, that seam spacing and thread spacing alternate over the width of the band, and that it has continuous elastic threads which are in pairs or multiply spaced apart.
It is important for the invention that the elastic threads allow the crimped band or fabric to be stretched and thus the entire waistband to be stretched, so that the garment can be tightened with the waistband stretched. The stretch can be kept so large that a special closure for the federal government is unnecessary.
Two continuous elastic threads have an enlarged seam space between them, so that even with comparatively tightly arranged continuous threads it is possible to sew the tape on without any risk of overstitching these threads. In order to be able to sew the pleated drawstring as many times as possible onto its base, for example in the case of soft fabrics, seam gaps and thread spacings alternate across the width of the strip.
It has the pleated drawstring in pairs or multiple equally spaced continuous threads, which make it possible to achieve the same elastic tensile force in the pleated drawstring with thinner elastic threads, and which also contribute to the ruffled strip not being quite as thick, so that the garment in the Waist area not so bulky.
The continuous threads have a diameter which considerably exceeds the diameter of the inelastic threads, which makes it possible to make the continuous threads sufficiently tensile despite their elasticity. In addition, such thick threads are more recognizable and therefore easier to process.
The distance between two continuous threads is expediently about twice to three times the thread diameter, so that the band is provided with a very high degree of elasticity by a corresponding accumulation of elastic continuous threads after it has been crimped. In order to be able to sew the pleated drawstring over its entire width onto its base, for example onto a soft fabric, the continuous threads near the strip edges have an edge spacing that enables a seam.

In addition, there are
The distance a of the
From Fig. 1 it can be seen that
Furthermore, an edge distance k is provided for the continuous threads 10 'near the edge of the strip, which makes it possible to place a
Fig. 2 shows the gathered
