Definitions
- the invention relates to a folding box made from a one-piece blank, the blank being provided with shaped fold lines in the sides and end walls which adjoin a central base area.
- a folding box is e.g. known from DE-GM 19 84 561.
- a folding box produced with the features of claim 1 gives the same visual impression as a packaging made from a folding box with a glued-on piece of cardboard provided with a cushion insert, since the manufacturing process results in a slight curvature of the surface of the packaging.
- the new folding box as will be explained in more detail in the description below, transport with folded front and side walls is possible, so that the space requirement during transport is small and the completion of the folding box at the bottler can be done with automatic machines without this still have to be done.
- 1 denotes the central base of the blank, 2 the end walls and 3 the longitudinal walls.
- a plurality of wall sections 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 of different widths delimited by parallel folding lines 12, 212, 223, 234 and 245 adjoin the central base 1 on the end faces.
- the fold lines 12 are between the base 1 and the section 21, the fold lines 212 between the sections 21 and 22, the fold lines 223 between the sections 22 and 23, and the fold lines 245 between the sections 24 and 25.
- additional tabs 26 are provided on the end wall sections, which are delimited from the sections 24 by fold lines 256.
- the section through the end wall shown in FIG. 2 shows that the first section 21 is bent around the fold line 12 by 180 ° with respect to the base area 1. So it lies directly on the base area 1. It should also be said that in all sectional drawings between the folded sections, a space is shown for better understanding, but this does not exist in practice.
- the next end wall section 22 is also folded by 180 ° around the fold line 212, so it lies on the section 21 and is shorter than this, so that a folding edge is formed.
- the following section 23 is bent upwards by approximately 90 ° around the fold line 223 and forms half of the actual end wall.
- the next section 24 is bent inward about the fold line 234 by 180 °, that is to say lies on the section 23 at. Section 24 adjoins section 24, bent by about 90 ° around fold line 245. It is narrower than section 24 and rests on section 22 and does not protrude beyond it.
- the two sections 21 and 22 are glued together.
- the longitudinal walls are formed from the longitudinal sections 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35.
- a fold line 13 between sections 31 and base area 1 a fold line 312 between sections 31 and 32, a fold line 323 between sections 32 and 33, a fold line 334 between sections 33 and 34 and finally between sections 34 and 35 a fold line 345 is provided.
- the length of the side wall sections 34 and 35 is less than that of the sections 32 and 33.
- a rectangular cut-out 37 is also provided from the side wall section 33 and runs into the boundary line of the sections 34, 35. Rectangular tabs 36 each adjoin the side wall sections 32, between which and the sections 32 fold lines 326 are provided.
- the side wall 3 is formed by folding the side wall section 31 and folding lines 13 through 180 ° inwards. It rests on base area 1.
- Section 32 is bent outward by approximately 90 ° around fold line 312.
- the adjoining side wall section 33 is bent 180 ° inwards relative to the section 32 around the fold line 323, thus abuts the section 32 and forms the actual side wall.
- This is followed by the narrower section 34, which is bent inward about 90 ° about the fold line 334.
- It continues into the side wall section 35, which is bent downward over section 345 by 180 ° relative to section 34.
- the wall section 35 is glued to the central base area 1.
- the side wall sections 32 and 33 are glued together. Instead of the fold lines 212 and 345, perforations can be provided at these points.
- the side wall section 31 has a boundary line 15 which extends over the corner 14 of the central base area 1 into the front wall section 21 and cuts out a triangular section therefrom.
- This boundary line extends at an angle of approximately 50 to 60 ° with respect to the folding line 312.
- the projection edge formed by the side wall sections 31 and the end wall sections 21 thereby receives an overlap of the wall sections at the corners, so that the rear side of the blank is not visible.
- a rounded edge 17, starting from the corner and extending into the side edge of the end wall section, and a further rounded edge 18 opening into the fold line 312 are provided on one of the corners 14 of the base area 1.
- the side wall sections 33 are trapezoidal here and have an oblique edge 17 on both sides.
- the end wall sections 24 have triangular tabs 27, which come to rest against the edge 37 of the side wall section 33 in the folded state.
- the wall sections 23 and 24 and 25 can lie flat next to one another, that is to say they can be unfolded, while the side wall 3 is already fully folded up, but the wall sections 32 and 33 have not yet been set up, that is to say lie flat. This saves a lot of transport space.
- the end wall is the same as described above, that is to say the sections 23, 24 and 25 are folded together, the tab 36 being inserted between the end wall sections 23 and 24.
- FIGS. 4 to 6 the same reference numerals are provided for the wall sections that correspond to those in FIGS. 1 to 3, that is to say for end wall sections 21 to 24, for the associated folding lines between these sections 12, 212, 223 and 234 and for the side wall sections 31 to 35 with the associated folding lines 13, 312, 323, 334 and 345 between the side wall sections.
- the end wall section 21 is bent inwards by 180 ° around the fold line 12 and lies on the base area 1.
- the adjoining section 22 is bent upward at approximately a right angle with respect to section 21 around the fold line 312 and forms the actual side wall together with section 23.
- the latter is bent 180 ° inward about the fold line 323 with respect to the section 22.
- Section 23 is followed by section 24, which is bent approximately 90 ° inwards around fold line 234 and rests on base area 1.
- the wall section 21 is glued to the base area 1.
- the fold line 212 can also be designed as a perforation.
- the side wall 3 is formed by bending the side wall section 31 around the fold lines 13 by 180 ° inwards. It rests on base area 1. Section 32 is folded outward by 90 ° around fold line 312. The adjoining side wall section 33 is bent 180 ° inwards relative to the section 32 around the fold line 323, so it bears against the section 32 and forms the side wall with it. The narrow section 34 adjoins the section 32, folded around the fold line 334 inward by approximately 90 °. It continues in section 35, which is bent downwards about folding line 345 by 180 °. The wall section 35 is glued to the central base. Furthermore, the side wall sections 32 and 33 are glued together.
- the fold line 345 can also be designed as a perforation.
- the side wall section 31 has a boundary line 15 which extends over the corner 14 of the base area 1 into the end wall section 21 and cuts out a triangular section therefrom.
- This boundary line 15 extends at an angle of approximately 50 to 60 ° with respect to the folding line 312. This results in an overlap of the wall sections at the corners of the folding box in the projection edge formed by the sections 21 and 31.
- the side wall sections 33 are trapezoidal here and have an oblique edge 17 on both sides.
- the end wall sections 24 have triangular tabs 27, which come to rest against the edge 37 of the side wall section 33 in the folded state.
- the wall sections 22, 23 and 24 can lie flat next to one another, while the wall sections 32 and 33 are arranged lying on top of each other at 90 ° to the outside or inside.
- the end wall that is to say sections 23, 24 and 25 is to be folded together, the tab 36 being inserted between the wall sections 23 and 24.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a folding box made from a one-piece blank, the blank being provided with shaped fold lines in the sides and end walls which adjoin a central base area. Such a folding box is e.g. known from DE-GM 19 84 561.
For complex packaging, e.g. for chocolates or the like, it is known to first produce a folding box without a protruding edge, to stick it onto a prefabricated piece of cardboard, optionally provided with a cushion insert, which is larger than the base area of the folding shafts. This results in a protruding edge corresponding to the difference between the folding box and the piece of cardboard. The costs for such packaging are relatively high considering the high material requirements and the large number of work steps required.
It is therefore the object of the invention to provide a folding box which corresponds to such a box provided with a protruding edge and cushion insert, which can be produced automatically, and which requires a small transport space during transport from the manufacturer to the bottler and can be assembled automatically during filling without an additional gluing process is.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features characterized in
Further features of the invention can be found in
Another solution to the problem is given by the features characterized in claim 10. This solution has the same advantages as in the solution specified in
Further features of the second solution can be found in claims 11 to 18. Further details and developments of the invention result from the exemplary embodiments described below and illustrated in the drawings.

In the drawings, 1 denotes the central base of the blank, 2 the end walls and 3 the longitudinal walls.
In the blank shown in FIG. 1, a plurality of
The section through the end wall shown in FIG. 2 shows that the
As shown in FIG. 3, the longitudinal walls are formed from the
The
In this way, a fixed end wall and side wall are formed, the
The
In the blank shown in FIG. 7, a
When the folding boxes are being transported, the
In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 4 to 6, the same reference numerals are provided for the wall sections that correspond to those in FIGS. 1 to 3, that is to say for
As shown in FIG. 5, the
The

The
In the blank shown in FIG. 8, a
During transport, the
