Abstract

The bottle carrier is made of a single-part cardboard blank having recesses, in which the bottles engage with their tops and are supported by a bead. An annular collar, which is sealed in an adhesive seam, surrounds the shoulders of the bottles. Folded in between the bottles are wall pieces and gusset areas which guarantee the bottle carrier sufficient rigidity and thus a firm hold of the bottles. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a bottle carrier made of a one-piece cardboard blank for at least two or more bottles, which is provided with recesses into which the bottles engage with their heads, a protruding bulge of the bottles being supported on the edge portions surrounding the recesses, one being annular trained collar is provided, which encompasses the shoulders of the bottles and is closed by an adhesive seam.

US-A 4 190 149). A large number of such bottle carriers are known in practice (e.g. US-A 4 190 149). In addition, EP-OS 01 08 614 shows a bottle holder which is made from a one-piece cardboard blank. This cardboard blank is reinforced with molded plastic in the area of the corners and the recesses for the bottle heads. This results in a very good hold of the carrier itself and the bottles, but the carrier is relatively complex and expensive. In addition, the mechanical effort for the injection molding of the plastic is very large, which is why it can only be delivered to the user in a finished state.

The invention has for its object to design a bottle carrier of the type mentioned in such a way that its manufacture is simple and inexpensive.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the collar in the area of each bottle is provided with a plurality of embossing lines, in that in the area between two bottles in each case a wall piece is articulated at the upper edge of the collar, the wall pieces folded in the horizontal position touching one another and one form essentially a closed surface and that the wall pieces are connected by foldable gusset surfaces.

A bottle carrier of this type is closed only by a single adhesive seam, can then be laid flat and only be erected again when the bottles are put on. The wall pieces folded down and kept under tension by the gusset surfaces give it a very high degree of inherent stability and thus a very good hold for the bottles.

In the case of a bottle carrier which is provided for at least three bottles, a particularly advantageous embodiment is that the wall surfaces articulated on the collar have essentially the shape of a triangle. A particularly high stability of the bottle carrier is achieved by this inventive configuration.

It is also very advantageous if, according to the invention, an extension projecting into a recess is articulated on both sides of the wall pieces via a fold line.

When the bottle head is pushed through, these lugs move back, to then reach under the protruding bead of the bottle due to their elasticity and to ensure their secure hold.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention is that a finger opening is provided in the regions of the collar lying between two recesses. This makes the bottle carrier easy to grasp and transport.

The invention is illustrated in the drawing using two exemplary embodiments. Show:
  • 1 is a flat cardboard blank for making a bottle carrier for three bottles,
  • 2 shows the cardboard blank according to FIG. 1, but with a sealed adhesive seam and laid flat again,
  • Fig. 3 also a flat cardboard blank for making a bottle carrier, but for four bottles and
  • Fig. 4 shows an erected bottle carrier equipped with bottles, which is formed from the blank according to FIG. 3.

These wall pieces are essentially triangular and rest on the collar 2 with their base line over a fold line 6, 7 or 8. On both sides of these wall pieces, interrupting the folding lines 6, 7 and 8, a recess 9, 10, 11 and 11 'is provided, the two recesses 11 and 11' providing a single recess in the erected state of the cardboard blank.

The two boundary edges of the wall pieces 3, 4 and 5 lying opposite the base line are designed as fold lines 12 to 17 and connect the wall pieces to gusset surfaces 18, 19, 20 and 20 '. An adhesive flap 21 is formed on the gusset surface 20, by means of which the two gusset surfaces 20 and 20 'are connected to form a single gusset surface when the blank is erected. The same purpose, namely the formation of a bottle carrier from the cardboard blank, is also served by an adhesive flap 22 which is integrally formed on one end of the collar 2 and which enables it to be combined into a closed ring. On the wall pieces 3, 4 and 5, further fold lines 23 to 28 form projections 29 to 34, which protrude into the recesses 9, 10 and 11 or 11 '. In the regions of the collar 2, which lie between two recesses, a finger opening is provided in each case, for the formation of which a tab 35, 36 or 37 is punched out along a line 38, 39 or 40. This line ends at fold lines 6, 7 and 8, respectively, so that the flap can be bent inwards along this line.

A fold line 41 runs through the wall piece 3, the flap 35 and the section of the collar 2 lying underneath, while a second fold line 42 extends through the gusset surface 19 and the arcuate section of the collar 2 below it. In addition, the gusset surface 18 also has a fold line 43 and the gusset surface 20 has a fold line 44, via which the adhesive flap 21 is articulated to it.

Embossing lines 45 are also provided in the arcuate sections of the collar 2, which facilitate deformation of the collar.

To produce a bottle carrier, the cardboard blank 1 is erected such that the collar 2 forms a ring. The adhesive tab 22 is glued to the opposite free end of the collar; the same happens with the adhesive tab 21, which is connected to the gusset surface 20 '.

The bottle carrier now formed, which is intended for three bottles, can be laid flat along the fold lines 41 and 42, as shown in FIG. 2.

Darüber hinaus sind über Faltlinien 123, 124 Ansätze 130,131 angelenkt.FIG. 3 shows a further carton blank 101, which essentially corresponds to that according to FIG. 1, but is provided for a bottle carrier for combining four bottles. The collar 102 therefore has four arcuate and four rectilinear sections, as well as three identical recesses 109 and a composite recess 111 and 111 ', respectively. All other parts correspond completely to those of the cardboard blank 1. Thus, wall pieces 104 are hinged to the collar 102 via folding lines 106 and 107, respectively. These wall pieces 104 carry gusset surfaces 118, 120 and 120 'via fold lines 112 and 113. In addition, folds 123, 124 attachments 130, 131 are articulated.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 4, four bottles 100 are combined in a bottle holder, which is erected from the cardboard blank 101 according to FIG. 3. The bottles are equipped with screw caps 150 which are inserted from below through the recesses 109 (filled in by the bottle necks in FIG. 4). With a bead 151, the bottles 100 are supported on the rim of the collar 102 surrounding the recesses or on the shoulders 130, 131. The wall pieces 104 are folded downwards and are held in this position by the gusset surfaces 118, 120, 120 'which are folded into themselves. An additional fixation of the wall pieces or the gusset surface is not provided.
