- the cover element 10 can be produced in the compression molding or injection molding process, using a tool provided with plunging edges (so-called engagement tool), which allows the three layers 11, 12 and 13 of the sandwich to be applied one after the other.
- the core layer 11 is first produced.
- the outer layer 12 and inner layer 13 are then applied. If they consist of thermoplastic material, they are e.g. sprayed on or in foil form, e.g. in the form of thermoformed films.
- the cover element 10 in particular as a cylinder head cover for internal combustion engines, provides very good sound insulation.
- the cover element 10 is intended for other noise-reducing purposes, e.g. as a cover in the area of the oil pan or at other points in the engine of an internal combustion engine. All other applications for the sound-absorbing cover element 10 are also within the scope of the invention.

Description
The invention relates to a sound-absorbing cover according to the generic preamble of the main claim.
From DE-A 26 58 379 an insulation board for sound and heat insulation for motor vehicles and the like is known, which consists of several layers of differently porous and differently filled rubber or rubber-like plastic. What is essential for this known insulation board is the combination of two adjacent layers of foam, one of which contains a high proportion of filler, while the other is unfilled.
The invention has for its object to provide a sound-absorbing cover with very good sound insulation, which also has good mechanical properties, in particular high mechanical stability. This object is achieved by the characterizing features of claim 1, wherein on the one hand through the central arrangement of an elastic layer with great damping capacity and a high degree of filling the required damping and on the other hand through the layers applied in an advantageous manner inside and outside the core layer the desired mechanical stability can be achieved. Advantageous further developments have been achieved by the measures listed in the subclaims, both with regard to the layer structure of the cover and with regard to its manufacture.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and explained in more detail in the following description. The drawing shows a schematic section of a sound-absorbing cover element.
In the drawing, a sound-absorbing
The
The
When using thermosetting materials, the
In another method, the
The
