Description

The present invention relates to a steam generator for steam baths, in particular steam cabins.

A known steam generator for steam cabins, as described in the literature CH-636263, 636264 and 630522, heats the evaporator liquid over an evaporator surface in the area of the cabin floor. The evaporator liquid is recirculated between the collecting container and the evaporator surface using a circulating pump, and an active substance container is also included in the circuit as required. The disadvantage of this system is that it requires a system-specific cabin construction. This means that this facility can neither be used to combine simple, standard shower cubicles nor to supplement existing cubicles. The system is therefore too complex to construct. Furthermore, it takes too long for the evaporator liquid to boil, since the entire tank content ultimately has to be warmed up. The system can therefore be described as sluggish. The drug container intended for admixture is exposed to deposits and must be cleaned from time to time. Another The disadvantage of this active substance container is that it cannot be emptied using the available means. So there is the problem: the residues are used as a breeding ground by bacteria, especially if the operation of the steam cabin is suspended for a few days or the drug container is not included in the operation. It remains to be seen whether this disadvantage in operation is really avoided by the effects of elevated temperatures and the destruction of the bacteria, because the risk of adverse effects will only be avoided if there is no reason to do so.

The present invention is intended to avoid these disadvantages. According to the invention, this object is achieved according to the features of the claims. The advantages of the invention are the compact and therefore inexpensive construction, the universal usability for cabins of all kinds, the prompt operational readiness and the complete hygiene, without the user having to do anything, and last but not least the forced circulation of the entire contents of the steam cabin, i.e. the air-steam Mix.

The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the figures. Show it:

the use of the steam generator in a bathing cabin.

The steam generator 1 shown in FIG. 1 has a columnar housing 2 with a triangular cross section with two mutually perpendicular side walls 2 I and 2 II . A roof 2 III closes the housing 2 at the top, so that the housing 2 has only two openings at its upper end, the inlet opening 21 for the ambient air and a filler neck 8 I for filling the water tank 8 which is between the roof 2 III and an intermediate floor 2 IV is arranged. The fan 4 and the electrical devices (not shown) such as fuses, main switches, distribution terminals and, if appropriate, a time switch and a temperature measuring device are also located in this intermediate space. Below the intermediate floor 2 IV is the water bath 3 in housed a pipe-shaped pipe 3 II . This tube 3 II enables the receptacle of the active substance 6 to be accommodated through its opening ending in the housing 2. This opening is closed in operation by the cover 23, the active substance container 6 being fastened to it by a chain 24 in such a way that it dips into the water bath 3. So that the pipe 3 II can keep the water bath 3, it is provided with a bottom 3 III . The water bath 3 is emptied by a drain tap 10 which can be operated from the outside. This process can also be automated by, for example, designing the drain valve 10 as a solenoid valve that is opened by a timer or the main switch when the device is switched off.

The function of the steam generator includes the heater 3 IV , which is arranged in the form of a spiral resistance heater in the water bath 3. The size of the water bath 3 is kept small in order to bring the amount of the water bath 3 through the heater 3 IV as close as possible to the boiling point. The air supplied by the fan 4 is advantageously through an annular channel on the circumference of the water bath 3 and. of the comprehensive pipe 3 II initiated. The bubbling of the water bath 3 by the air supply increases the contact areas and intensifies the saturation of the air. The circulation of the air improves the temperature distribution of the steam cabin compared to the flow of pure convection. In addition, the water turned to steam is returned to the water bath 3 by the circulation. Thus, the present steam generator 1 works in a closed circuit compared to the open system of the prior art. Since the use of active ingredients 5 is considered an optional measure, the water bath 3 was deliberately called water bath and not liquid bath. The atmosphere of the cabin is referred to as air, whereby the saturation and supersaturation of the air can naturally also be called steam or steam-air mixtures.

The possibilities of arranging the steam generator are shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. The steam generator 1 shown in FIG. 1 is shown inside a shower cabin 30. If, for any reason, the installation of the steam generator 1 outside the cabin is desired, the air inlet 21 and the outlet opening 22 are each supplemented with an angle duct piece so that a direct connection is created through the cabin wall and the steam generator 1. An advantage of this arrangement is that all electrical installations are outside the cabin, and thereby the risks of electrical Electricity for the bathroom user can also be reduced. It goes without saying that the steam generators of uniform size according to the invention are suitable as modular units for equipping steam cabins or steam baths of any size. Thanks to the invention, for example, the conversion or addition of a Finnish sauna to a "Turkish bath" is easily possible.
