Description

The invention relates to large-sized, arched folded goods, in particular a copy of a drawing (blueprint) according to DIN 824, with a perforated binding margin serving for filing at the base fold and with a partial fold above the binding edge which is folded away from the extended outer edge of the binding edge and the binding edge of stacks - And / or free wrinkles that overlap the base fold as a result of transverse folding.

According to DIN 824, the partial fold is an oblique fold, which extends upwards from a somewhat point-like attachment on the outer edge of the binding margin, is struck over the adjoining area of the sheet and exposes the perforation of the binding strip when it is folded together with the adjoining sheet section by transverse folding over or under the sheet section adjoining the binding edge. If the longitudinally and transversely folded folded goods - such as the blueprint of a technical drawing - are stored as a 'package' with the external dimensions of a DIN A4 sheet, e.g. in a file folder, the folded sheet can be unfolded without being removed from its storage state (in which pens or the like of the folder penetrate the perforation).

Although oblique folding has been used for this purpose in drawing breaks for decades, it has always been criticized that it only fulfills the task described above incompletely. Because the uncovered width of the binding margin depends on the distance of the fold of the diagonal fold from the outside edge of the binding margin in its state folded across the basic fold. This distance is relatively small because of the wedge shape of the oblique fold in its lower region - and thus in the upper region of the binding margin after the transverse folding - and is often not sufficient in particular if a perforation is provided in the binding margin near the upper end of the binding edge an appropriately arranged filing pen of the filing folder is to enforce.

For this reason, alternatives to the oblique fold have repeatedly been proposed, which are also mentioned in DIN 824. For example, you have the sheet above the binding margin (the base fold) of the The outer edge is cut out over a width corresponding to the width of the binding margin, ie the sheet is removed as an extension of the binding margin above the base fold. In addition to the fact that such a processing step was particularly difficult in automatic blueprint and folding lines, the disadvantages of this procedure are that information which may be present on the cut sheet part is lost, and further that the sheet tears when the sheet is later folded up because the sheet is cut Notching in the cross fold starts.

The invention takes a different approach to solving the problem of sufficiently exposing the binding margin of a folded item, also folded, across the height and width of the binding margin:
It provides that a lower edge of the partial fold is formed by a slot from the outer edge approximately parallel to the first transverse fold above the binding edge, the slot having a depth approximately corresponding to the binding edge width and a distance from that transverse fold which is smaller than the distance of the top filing hole from the cross fold. In this way, the folded material in the area of the transverse fold, which is in any case susceptible to tearing, is not additionally weakened by an incision protruding inwards from the outer edge and its notch effect. On the other hand, the section of the sheet edge which overlaps the fold of the base fold (not covered by the partial fold) as a result of transverse folding ends at a sufficient distance - seen from the cross fold - before the uppermost perforation of the fold; this must be for security of the folded goods against tearing out have a sufficient distance from the (first) transverse fold forming the upper edge of the folded goods.

The fold of the partial fold can run parallel to the outer edge, but it can also diverge in the manner of the conventional oblique fold upwards relative to the outer edge, so that the width of the partial fold increases towards the top.

In order to further reduce the risk of tearing at the beginning of the partial fold, a rounded free punching can be provided in the cutting area of the lower edge and the folded edge of the partial fold.

A device according to the invention for the mechanical production of the new partial fold is based on the device known from DE-OS 34 11 740. This device, which is suitable for the production of a conventional oblique fold, has a pair of rollers, the gap of which lies in the feed path of the folded material, and one roller of which carries a fold break bar, which interacts with flexible material on the counter-roller, the incoming folded material triggering a full rotation of the pair of rollers.

According to the invention, this device is further developed in that the rollers carry cooperating knives in front of the folded bar in the direction of advance of the folded material, which introduce the slot into the folded material, and of which a knife extends only over a limited angle in the circumferential direction.

Vorteilhafte Weiterbildungen dieser Vorrichtung sind Gegenstand weiterer Unteransprüche.Advantageous developments of this device are the subject of further dependent claims.

Die Lage der (später eingebrachten), von der unteren Bogenkante nach oben gesehen ersten Querfaltung ist durch die strichpunktierte Linie 4 angegeben.1 and 2 show only a section of the sheet 1 (folded goods), specifically from its front area in the feed direction of the treatment run (FIG. 2). The front outer edge 3 of the sheet 1 also forms the front boundary of the base fold 1a in the feed direction; their rear, from the first longitudinal fold formed limit is not shown. The position of the first transverse fold (introduced later), viewed from the lower sheet edge upwards, is indicated by the dash-dotted line 4.

Gleichwohl liegt die vom Schlitz 6 gebildete Kante 6b in ausreichendem Abstand von der einreißgefährdeten ersten Querfaltung (strichpunktierte Linie 4).1 and 2 show - in various embodiments - the formation and position of a partial fold 5, which was formed by introducing a slot 6, which at the same time forms its lower edge 6a, and folding back the front edge section divided thereby about the fold line 7. The depth of the slot 6 (against the direction of the arrow 2) corresponds at least approximately to the width of a binding margin 8 in the base fold 1a of the sheet 1. Holes 9 are provided in the binding margin 8, which, in the usual manner, store the sheet 1 in a file folder o . Like. serve. After the transverse folding of the sheet 1 around the dash-dotted line 4 (first transverse fold), the partial fold lies above or below the base fold so that the binding edge 8 of the base fold remains free. Nevertheless, the edge 6b formed by the slot 6 lies at a sufficient distance from the first transverse fold, which is prone to tearing (dash-dotted line 4).

Compared to the embodiment in FIG. 1, that of FIG. 2 shows two different modifications which can also be provided individually. 1, the fold line 7 runs parallel to the outer edge 3, it is inclined according to FIG. 2 (in the manner of the conventional oblique folding). In addition, a rounded relief 10 preventing tearing due to the notch effect is provided in FIG. 2.

Sofern eine zur Außenkante 3 parallele Teilfalte 5 gewünscht wird (Fig. 1), muß die Falzbruchleiste 17 natürlich parallel zur Achse der Walze 12 verlaufen.3 and 4 show the essential components of a device for the mechanical production of the partial fold 5; In addition, reference is made to the description of DE-OS 34 11 740 with reference to the drawings there. The sheet 1 with its front outer edge 3 runs into the nip 11 of a pair of rolls formed from the rolls 12 and 13 in the feed direction (arrow 2). In the operating state of FIG. 3, the edge 3 has just passed the sensor 14, which triggers a working cycle of the rollers 12, 13 in the form of a single full revolution; 3, the rollers 12, 13 are just in their rest position. The knives 15 and 16 located on the rollers 12, 13 (see FIGS. 6 to 9) introduce the slot 6 into the front area of the sheet 1, as shown in FIG. 5. 4, the slot 6 has just been completed; the upper knife 15 comes free from the lower knife 16, and the subsequent sheet 1 can freely pass through the nip 11 of the rolls 12, 13. Simultaneously with the end of the formation of the slit 6, however, the introduction of the fold 7 takes place or begins, in the same way as described in DE-OS 34 11 740. FIG. 6 indicates the arrangement of a fold break bar 17 producing an oblique fold line 7 (FIG. 2). If a partial fold 5 parallel to the outer edge 3 is desired (FIG. 1), the fold break bar 17 must of course run parallel to the axis of the roller 12.

In Richtung des Anlaufens an das Gegenmesser 16 ist das Messer 15 mit einem Anlaufabschnitt 19 versehen; es hat zu diesem Zweck sowohl in Umfangsrichtung eine gekrümmte Anlaufkante 20 (Fig. 7) als auch in Achsrichtung eine gekrümmte Anlaufkante 21 (Fig. 8).6 shows, inter alia, the approximately plate-shaped and annular flange-like design of the counter or lower knife 16 on the roller 13, FIGS. 7 to 9 show the design of the upper knife 15 in detail. The latter is only over a limited angle (60 °) formed on a roller ring 18 and in its effective area has the cross-sectional shape of an undercut flange which can be seen in FIG. 9. In the direction of the run-up to the counter knife 16, the knife 15 is provided with a run-up section 19; for this purpose it has a curved leading edge 20 (FIG. 7) both in the circumferential direction and a curved leading edge 21 (FIG. 8) in the axial direction.

In addition to the roller ring 18 forming the lower knife 16, an annular collar 22 is arranged or formed on the roller 13, which with its chamfer 23 presses the upper knife 15 against the lower knife 16 (FIG. 6).
