Plus particulièrement, les compositions de fluide fonctionnel et de lubrifiant à base d'huile de la présente invention comportent une quantité importante d'huile et une faible quantité de (A) au moins un sel d'amine ou un sel métallique d'au moins un acide monothiophosphorique de formule (I) ou (II) ou bien des mélanges de ceux-ci, dans lesquelles R1 et R2 sont chacun indépendamment des groupes hydrocarbyles, X est un métal ou un groupe ammonium, et lorsque X est un métal, n est un entier égal à la valence du métal, et lorsque X est un groupe ammonium, n égal 1, et (B) au moins une composition soluble contenant de l'azote préparé par la réaction d'un composé à substitution hydrocarbure produisant de l'acide succinique avec au moins environ un demi-équivalent, par équivalent de composé produisant de l'acide, d'une amine contenant au moins un atome d'hydrogène lié à un atome d'azote. De préférence, les sels d'amine des acides phosphoriques utilisés dans les compositions lubrifiantes décrites sont dérivés d'amines primaires ou tertiaires et les compositions solubles contenant de l'azote (B) contiennent également du bore. Lesdites compositions lubrifiantes sont particulièrement utiles comme huiles lubrifiantes ou graisses. Des systèmes aqueux, et un procédé de préparation de monothiophosphates de O-hydrocarbyle-S-hydrocarbyle sont également décrits.
