Abstract

The tamper-proof device for closures of containers, in particular bottles, has a label (12) which, when it has been removed or damaged, makes opening recognisable. The closure parts (4, 6), which are to be moved apart for opening, are provided with flat depressions to accommodate the label (12). The depressions pass from one closure part into the other or others and jointly have the contour and size of the label. If such a label is torn or cut through, this makes opening recognisable. However, the invention prevents the possibility of the label being removed and stuck on again. The abovementioned depression can serve this purpose as it makes it impossible for a user to grip with the fingernail or a tool under the label and lift it off. Instead of a depression, a horseshoe-shaped wall (22) can be provided which surrounds at least part of the label. Said wall can be broken off so that the consumer has access to the label. However, due to parts of the material remaining, the breaking-off of the wall and thus the opening of the container is recognisable. Additionally, the label can be provided with an adhesive which allows only a single bonding operation, thus making it impossible for a removed label to be stuck on again after tampering with the contents. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a tamper-evident device with the features mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 or 2. As usual, the label should keep the parts of the closure closed. Generally there are two closure parts, namely the lower part and the lid. However, more closure parts from the same label can also be held together, e.g. additionally an intermediate ring. As long as the label is in place, this should mean that the closure has not been opened after the original filling. Known tamper evidence does not, however, provide sufficient security. The present invention is intended to ensure tamper-evident protection which guarantees a very high degree of security against counterfeiting.

The invention will first be explained in some embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings.
  • Figure 1 shows in perspective a closure for the mouth of a container, in particular a bottle, with a label sitting in recesses.
  • FIG. 2 shows a closure in which the label is partially surrounded by a wall and is otherwise accommodated in depressions.
  • FIG. 3 shows a detail of the closure according to FIG. 2.

Der Unterteil hat eine Griffmulde 10.The closure according to FIG. 1 has a lower part 4, a hinged lid 6 and a snap hinge 8. The lower part has a recessed grip 10.

Ein Etikett 12 verbindet Deckel 6 und Unterteil 4 des geschlossenen Verschlusses.A label 12 connects the lid 6 and the lower part 4 of the closed closure.

If the label in the parting plane 14 between cover 6 and lower part 4 is torn or cut, its opening is indicated. However, it must be prevented that the label is peeled off and stuck on again after opening (falsifying the contents of the container) and resealing. There are several measures that can be used on their own. However, several of them are preferably used together.

There are shallow depressions on the closure parts, which together have the outline shape and size of the label as precisely as possible, and into which the label 12 shown here is glued. The depressions have narrow edge surfaces 16, 18, 20, which are intended to prevent anyone from reaching under the label with a fingernail or tool and lifting it off. The edge surfaces preferably merge into the adjacent surface sections of the closure parts with sharp edges, in particular at right angles.

To allow the consumer to peel off the label without damaging it, e.g. 2 and 3, an approximately horseshoe-shaped wall 22 can be provided on at least one end of the label instead of a shallow depression on one closure part, here the cover 6, because it has a collection or memorial value. It is molded onto the lid and can be broken off by the consumer. After breaking off the wall, the consumer has access to the now exposed edges of the label and can peel off the label without destroying it.

As FIG. 3 shows, the wall can only be connected to the lid in some bridges 24, but can also be separated from the lid by thin slots 26, so that a predetermined breaking line results. After the wall has been broken off, remnants of the bridges 24 remain and make the opening recognizable, even if the label which has then been removed is replaced by another label.

For additional security, the label can be attached with an adhesive that only allows a single adhesive process. It is therefore not possible to re-glue using the original adhesive. With a suitable choice of material, it is also not possible to re-glue it using another adhesive.

The label can have two layers, in particular consist of only two layers, an inner layer facing the closure parts and an outer layer. The inner layer is permanently sealed or glued on. The outer layer is connected to the inner layer by a releasable adhesive, which also allows only a single gluing process. If the outer layer is peeled off, this can be seen. For clarification, the inner layer can be imprinted like "container open".

The outer layer may consist of individual pieces of surface, which tear apart when pulled off, in the manner of badges for German motor vehicle license plates.

The outer layer can carry a counterfeit-proof print in the manner of banknotes, so that the counterfeiting of labels is too expensive or it is easy to see that counterfeit labels have been stuck on.
