Definitions
- the present invention relates to an anti-theft hanger for clothes, usable in shops or locker rooms.
- Anti-theft hangers are already known which are provided with a flexible anti-theft member, such as a chain or cable, connected to the support of the hanger whose shape is adapted to that of the garment to be suspended and which is extended upwards, in its part. central, by a hook intended to pass around a suspension bar.
- This flexible anti-theft member is intended to be threaded through a tubular part of the garment carried by the hanger, such as a jacket sleeve, the two ends of the flexible member being integral with hooking elements, making it possible to close, for example by means of a padlock or a lock, the flexible member around the garment, in order to prevent theft thereof.
- Such anti-theft hangers are described for example in patents FR-A-1167190 and DE-A-3542108.
- the patent FR-A-1167190 describes a hanger, the support of which is pierced, in its central part, with a hole traversed by a suspension bar and which is therefore permanently fixed to this bar.
- This hanger carries, at the two ends of its two lateral branches, two freely hanging chains which can be connected to each other at their lower ends, by means of a ring and a padlock.
- Such an anti-theft hanger has the drawback of not being able to be detached from the suspension bar, and of using, as a flexible member, two separate chains threaded respectively into the two sleeves of a hanging jacket.
- the anti-theft hanger according to patent DE-A-3542108 comprises a flexible anti-theft cable vertically passing through the central part of the hanger support and sliding inside the upper hook. The two ends of the cable can be hooked to each other by means of a key lock.
- the flexible anti-theft cable when hooked to itself in a closed loop, prevents a garment hanging from the hanger from being detached from it and also prevents the hanger itself from being unhooked from the hanging bar.
- an anti-theft hanger has the drawback that it requires a lock per hanger and that it is therefore particularly expensive.
- the part of the flexible cable which comes out of the end of the upper hook hangs freely outside the hanger and can be placed anyway, which considerably hinders the handling of hangers, especially when hanging the clothes on the hanger and you want to set up the anti-theft device by hooking the two ends of the cable to each other.
- the anti-theft hanger suspended with its flexible cable closed around a jacket sleeve for example is not aesthetic because the flexible cable must pass partly outside the garment and is permanently present in sight .
- the present invention aims to remedy these various drawbacks by providing an anti-theft hanger with a particularly simple and inexpensive design to manufacture, easy to use and not detrimental to the aesthetic nature of the hanging garments.
- this anti-theft hanger for clothes, usable in shops or locker rooms, comprising a support of shape adapted to that of the garment to be suspended from the hanger, a hook located in the central part of the hanger, passing around a hanging bar and at least one flexible anti-theft member, such as a chain or cable, connected to this support, and which can be threaded through a tubular part of the garment, such as a jacket sleeve, pants leg or skirt, this flexible member being finished, at its free lower end, by a ring allowing the passage of a padlock and extending across the opening of the hanger hook by passing through an upper hole formed in the curved part of the hook, is characterized in that the flexible member also passes through a lower hole which is formed in the central part of the hanger support and the flexible member is integral, at its end opposite to that fixed to the ring of an opposing stop when passing through the upper hole when the flexible member is pulled down.
- a support of shape adapted to that of the garment to be suspended from the hanger
- the anti-theft hanger according to the invention which is shown in Figures 1 to 3, is constituted by a horizontal bar 1 provided with clips 2 and forming the support of a skirt 3 hanging vertically.
- the bar 1 is integral with a central part 4 forming a hook extending upwards. This hook 4 is intended to come over a suspension bar 5 to which the hanger is hung.
- the anti-theft hanger comprises a robust flexible member 6 constituted, for example, by a cable, a chain or even a semi-rigid rod, which is engaged in vertical sliding in the hook 4. More particularly the flexible member 6 extends vertically across the opening of the hook 4 of the hanger and it passes successively through an upper vertical hole 7 which is drilled in the end part of the upper curved branch 4a of the hook 4 passing around the bar 5, and through a lower vertical hole 8 drilled right through in the base 4b of the hook 4 located in the central part of the hanger and by which it is connected to the bar 1.
- the lower hole 8 in the base 4b is preferably aligned vertically with the upper hole 7 but it could also be shifted horizontally.
- the flexible member 6 is secured, at its upper end, to a stop 9 opposing the passage through the upper hole 7, when the flexible member 6 is pulled down, and which is housed in a notch 10, of a shape adapted to its reception, which is formed in the outer edge of the curved part 4a of the hook 4, at the point where the upper hole opens out.
- the flexible member 6 is integral with a ring 11 whose dimension is chosen small enough to allow it to pass through the lower hole 8.
- This hole 8 can have a limited width in the horizontal direction or else it can be constituted by an elongated lumen in the base 4b , to allow a certain degree of freedom for the flexible member in the elongated lumen. It is thus possible to hang the hanger on the suspension bar 5 and then pass the ring 11 and the cable 6 through the lower hole 8, to completely surround the bar 5 and prevent the hanger from being removed. from bar 5.
- the anti-theft hanger comprises a support 13 made of rigid solid material, for example wood, metal or plastic.
- the vertical hole 16 which opens into the lower face 13a of the hanger 13 , is extended at its upper end by a curved hole 17 which opens into the lower end face of the upper curved branch 14a of the hook 14, above and in the axis of the vertical hole 15 which opens at its lower part in the lower face 13a of the support 13.
- the flexible member 6 thus follows an inverted U-shaped path through the central part of the hanger, the strand carrying the stopper 9 at its end extending through the holes 16 and 17 while that the strand passing to t through the lower hole 15 carries the ring 11 at its lower end.
- the ring 11 has a dimension small enough to pass freely through the lower hole 15. This arrangement allows to hang a jacket 18 ( Figure 5) on the hanger 13 and protect this jacket against theft.
- the anti-theft hanger comprises, in addition to the support 13, a horizontal bar 19, extending between the lower ends of its two inclined branches 13b, 13c and which carries clips 21 for suspending a skirt or pants from this bar 19.
- the hanger 13 is provided, in addition to the flexible member 6 extending vertically, in the shape of an inverted U, through the upper central hook 14 of the hanger, of another flexible member 22 which extends through a hole 23 drilled through an inclined branch 13b of the hanger 13.
- This hole 13 opens into the underside of the end of the branch 13b and into the face lower 13a of the support 13, near the central part thereof.
- the strand of the flexible member 22 which hangs freely near the central part of the support 13 ends in a stop 9 while the other strand which hangs from the end of the inclined branch 13b ends in a ring 11 small enough to pass through hole 23.
- the jacket and pants of a suit worn by the hanger 13 suspended from the bar 5 can then be protected against theft by means of two flexible members 6 and 22 including the rings 11 are connected to each other by means of a padlock 12.
- the flexible member 6 extends vertically through the pants 25 suspended from the clips 21, while the other flexible member 22 extends through a sleeve of the jacket 24.
- the lengths of the two flexible members 6 and 22 are sufficient for the rings 11 provided at their ends to come out of the pants 25 and of the sleeve of the jacket 24 and are connected to each other by the padlock 12.
- the anti-theft hanger consists of a bent wire 26, of conventional shape, the upper hook 26a of which is terminated by a ring 26b crossed by the flexible member 6 and serving as a stop for the stop 9 fixed to the end of the flexible member 6 when the latter is pulled down.
- This flexible member 6 also extends through a second ring 26c formed in the upper part of the inclined filiform left branch 26d of the hanger 26 substantially in vertical alignment below the ring 26b.
- the hanger 26 allows the garment to be locked in two different ways as shown in FIG. 8.
- the flexible member can be hung on itself inside a jacket, by forming a loop passing through the sleeve and the interior of the jacket, the padlock 12 then being hung inside the jacket, at the top of the sleeve, passing through the end ring 11 and around the flexible member.
- Another way of ensuring the locking consists in hanging the end ring 11, by means of the padlock 12, on the filiform horizontal branch of the hanger 26.
