  1. A mounting frame for securing windows (18) and/or doors in the apertures of buildings having cavity walls (1, 2),
    - comprising a profile member (5) of substantially L-shaped cross-section and having a plurality of chambers,
    - the longer L-limb (29) having a mounting surface (27) for a dry connection of the window or door frame (17),
    - the mounting surface (27) being bounded on one side by an abutment (26), characterised by the following features:
    - the shorter L-limb (28) serves for securing the frame (5) on the outside of the wall inner leaf (1),
    - and has prepared bores (7') for fastening screws (7),
    - the longer L-limb (29) bridges the gap (3) between the wall inner leaf (1) and the wall outer leaf (2),
    - and is prepared for fastening with ties (8) to the wall outer leaf (2),
    - on the other side, the mounting surface (27) ist bounded by a connecting strip groove (15').
  2. A mounting frame according to Claim 1, characterised by the following feature:
    - the profile member (5) consists of plastics material, in particular extruded thermoplastics.
  3. A mounting frame according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised by the following feature:
    - the end of the longer L-limb (29) on the side facing the wall (2) ist provided with a tie-retaining groove (9).
  4. A mounting frame according to Claim 3, characterised by the following feature:
    - the width of the tie-retaining groove (9) is adapted to the end (24) of the outer window sill (21).
  5. A mounting frame according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised by the following feature:
    - the abutment (26) bounding the mounting surface (27) is bevelled on the outside in the manner of a sill.
  6. A mounting frame according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised by the following feature:
    - the short L-limb (28) is sealed with seals (11, 30) against the wall inner leaf (1) and, optionally, against the inner window sill (20).
