Definitions

  • the invention relates to a lock according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a lock of this type is known in particular from document US-A-4,147,045 and functions satisfactorily. However, it reveals some drawbacks in use.
  • the bolt is necessarily kept in the retracted position by the user who immobilizes the means for operating the drive disc, for example an operating handle. Since the means of traction of the bolt cooperate with the drive disc, they are trapped in it and effectively retain the bolt in the retracted position.
  • the authorized user can imagine blocking the operating handle by any appropriate means to prevent the subsequent closing of the lock and thus avoid having to redo the coded combination, the next time he accesses the door.
  • the problem which the invention aims to solve is therefore to separate the operating handle from the bolt once the lock has been opened.
  • FIGS. 2a, 3a, 4a represent only the parts of the lock located at the bottom in the lock box, while FIGS. 2b, 3b, 4b represent only the other parts located more outside in the locker.
  • the lock shown in the figures comprises a rectangular box 1 consisting of a bottom 2 and four side walls 3, 4, 5, 6. As shown in the figures, the box is oriented in use so that its bottom 2 and its two opposite side walls 3, 5 are vertical.
  • the vertical wall 3 comprises two rectangular openings 7, 8 arranged one next to the other and extending vertically.
  • the bottom 2 has, in three of its corners, a hole 9, 10, 11 for attachment to a door, and, in its central part, a hole 12. It also has a plurality of pillars 13 to 19 s 'extending perpendicularly and several pins 20 to 22, the pillar 19 having at its base a flange 19a.
  • a back and forth 30 comprises a plate folded in an L shape so as to define two vertical sides 31, 32.
  • the pan 31 has two oblong holes 33, 34 placed side by side and extending vertically, the dimensions of which are adapted to receive respectively the pillar 13 and the flange 19a of the pillar 19 of the trunk 1, a finger 35 extending horizontally in the plane of the pan 31 from its edge opposite the other pan 32, a lower notch 36 close to the fold of the reciprocating 30, and an upper notch 37.
  • the pan 31 of the reciprocating 30 still has a finger 38 perpendicular and arranged above and to the right of the oblong hole 33.
  • a projection 41 carried by the pan 31 forms, with the pan 32, a yoke receiving a horizontal axis 42 and parallel to the pan 31.
  • a movable wedge 45 and a helical spring 43 are mounted side by side on the axis 42 ( Figures 1 a and 5).
  • the spring 43 is supported by one end on the pan 31 and by the other end on a shoulder 46 projecting laterally, provided on the movable wedge 45.
  • the movable wedge 45 carries a recess 47 opening both on its upper face and on its lateral face opposite the shoulder 46, which is intended to cooperate with an abutment pin 44 projecting perpendicularly on the pan 32.
  • the movable wedge 45 is therefore resiliently returned to a horizontal position in which it abuts against the stop pin 44, but it can be pushed down so as to pivot clockwise (FIG. 5) over at least a certain angle.
  • the back-and-forth 30 is intended to be pressed against the bottom 2 of the trunk 1 by means of a spacer 39 in the form of a cylinder mounted on the pillar 19 and the outside diameter of which is greater than the width of the oblong hole 34.
  • the spacer 39 is fixed by a screw 40 cooperating with a tapping of the pillar 19.
  • the back-and-forth 30 bears against the two pins 21, 22 of the trunk 1, so that it can only carry out one movement of vertical translation between a high position (FIG. 2a) and a low position (FIG. 3a) in each of which one end of the oblong holes 33, 34 abuts respectively against the pillar 13 and against the flange 19a of the pillar 19.
  • An L-shaped rocker 50 disposed in a vertical plane has two holes 51, 52, a perpendicular finger 53 disposed at the bottom of the rocker 50, and a perpendicular projection 54.
  • a pusher 55 has an extra thickness 56 at one end, a rounded 57 facing down at the opposite end, and a hole 58 in a central region.
  • a pin 59 passes through the hole 58 of the pusher 55 and the hole 51 of the rocker 50.
  • the rocker 50 is rotatably mounted through its hole 52 on the pillar 17 of the trunk 1, between a straight position ( Figure 3a) and an inclined position ( Figure 2a). It is elastically recalled in the straight position by a helical spring 60 mounted on the pillar 15 and one end of which bears on the pillar 18 of the trunk and the other end on a side wall of the rocker 50.
  • the rotation of the rocker 50 in the direction timetable is limited by the stud 20 against which the upper part of the rocker abuts; its counterclockwise rotation is limited by the side wall 3 of the trunk 1.
  • the pusher passes, through its rounded end 57, the lumen 7 in all the angular positions of the rocker 50. It can pivot relative to the rocker 50, around the pin 59. Due to the presence of its extra thickness 56, the power 55 tends to rotate clockwise under the effect of gravity. Its rotation in the counterclockwise direction is limited only by the upper part of the side wall 3 of the trunk, against which its extra thickness 56 will abut. Its clockwise rotation is limited either by the projection 54 of the rocker 50 against which it abuts when the rocker is in vertical position ( Figure 3a), or by the upper edge of the light 7 against which it abuts when the rocker 50 is in the inclined position (FIG. 2a).
  • a bolt 70 in the general shape of a coated L has a parallelepipedal front end 71 intended to pass through the lumen 8 of the boot 1 to cooperate with a rod operating device described below. It has a stop face in the extended position 72 and a stop face in the retracted position 73 which are vertical and turned towards the parallelepiped end 71, and a stop face 74 inclined and turned towards its rear end which is intended to cooperate with the finger 38 of the back and forth 30.
  • the bolt 70 On its main face facing outwards from the boot 1, the bolt 70 carries two studs 75, 76 near the front end 71 and a stud 77 near the rear end. On its main face opposite to this, it carries a rear stud 78 arranged lower and further back than the stud 77 (FIG. 2b), and a vertical shoulder 79 thanks to which the rear part of the bolt 70 is thinner than its front part ( Figures 8 and 9).
  • a jamming finger 80 has a hole 82 through which it is pivotally mounted on the stud 78 of the bolt 70 while being turned towards the front end 71 of the bolt.
  • the jamming finger 80 On its main face facing the bottom of the trunk 1 and in its upper part, the jamming finger 80 has a projecting shoulder 81 extending horizontally.
  • a traction hook 90 has at one end a hole 93 and, at the opposite end, and on its main face facing the bottom of the trunk 1 a protruding shoulder 91 extending along a curved line, as shown in Figures 4b and 9.
  • This hook is pivotally mounted on the stud 76 of the bolt 70, so as to be turned towards the rear of the bolt and with the interposition of a spacer washer 92 whose thickness corresponds to that of l shoulder 91 of the traction hook 90.
  • a release finger 94 has a hole 95 through which it is pivotally mounted on the stud 77 of the bolt 70.
  • a spacer washer 96 is also mounted on the stud 77 so as to cover the release finger 94.
  • a leaf spring 85 in general V shape comprises two branches, one of which is deformed so as to constitute a clamp 86 intended to surround the pillar 14 of the trunk 1.
  • a spacer sleeve 97 has a shoulder returning at its two ends, one being received in the hole 11 in the bottom of the trunk 1 and the other receiving a helical spring 98.
  • the bolt 70 equipped with the jamming finger 80, the traction hook 90 and the release finger 94, is arranged in the boot 1, in front of the back and forth 30 and the rocker 50. These parts are visible in the figure 8, where it is observed that the shoulder 79 of the bolt 70 advantageously makes it possible to partially house the jamming finger 80.
  • the bolt 70 can be moved in translation in the trunk 1 between an extended position ( Figure 2b) and a retracted position ( Figure 3b). In these two positions, its front end 71 is supported on the lower edge of the lumen 8 of the trunk 1. Furthermore, the leaf spring 85 is supported by one of its branches on the side wall 4 of the trunk, and by the other on the stud 75 of the bolt 70, so that the bolt 70 is resiliently returned to its extended position. As specified below, the rear part of the bolt is supported by a slot 191 of a cover plate 190 of the lock. In addition, in the retracted position of the bolt 70, the helical spring 98 is supported by one of its ends on the side wall 5 of the trunk, and by the other end on the release finger 94 and tends to pivot the latter in clockwise.
  • the bolt 70 In the extended position, the bolt 70 abuts on its abutment face 72 against the side wall 3 of the trunk.
  • the back and forth 30 is in the high position and the movable wedge 45 which it carries is then located behind the rear end of the bolt 70: it follows that the bolt 70 cannot be pushed manually to its retracted position because it would abut against the movable wedge 45.
  • the bolt 70 can be retracted at most until it stops at its rear end against the spacer sleeve 97.
  • the lock comprises several combination discs 100 which are hollowed out (FIGS. 1 and 2a), which are open in a radial slot 101 and which carry a notch 102 on their radially outer edge; one of the ends 103 of the notch is connected to the outer edge of the disc according to a radius intended to cooperate with the finger 38 of the to-and-fro 30.
  • each combination disc In line with the slot 101, each combination disc has a hole 104 allowing its spacing by means of a key.
  • Cores 110 hollowed out, the outside diameter of which is slightly greater than the inside diameter of the combination discs can thus be resiliently mounted therein.
  • Each core carries on one face a finger 111 parallel to the axis of the core and on the other face an annular flange 112 itself carrying a finger 113 extending radially outward.
  • the lock comprises hollow secondary drive disks 120, carrying on their radially inner edge a notch 121 and, opposite the latter, a finger 122 extending parallel to the axis some discs.
  • a main drive disc 130 is provided (FIGS. 1 and 3b) consisting of two permanently attached discs 140, 150 and of different outside diameters, the disc 140 of smaller diameter having a cutout 141 flaring and emerging towards its radially outer edge, the disc 150 having a similar cutout 151 arranged in line with the cutout 141, and the bottom 152 of which extends peripherally in an arc of a circle of radius equal to the radius of the other disc 140.
  • the cutout 151 extends over an angular portion greater than that along which cutout 141 extends.
  • the disc 140 carries a circular central excess thickness 142 and the disc 150 carries a finger 153 parallel to its axis.
  • the main drive disc 130 as a whole has a through hole 131 of square section.
  • a hollow disc-spacer 160 has, seen in plan, an external shape and dimension identical to those of the disc 150, therefore in particular a cutout 161. It also has a light 162 extending in a portion of a circle defined by a sector slightly greater than that along which the cutout 151 of the disc 150 extends.
  • Spacer plates 170 known in themselves are interposed between the combination discs 100 and the secondary drive discs 120 on the one hand, and between the spacer disc 160 and the neighboring secondary drive disc 120. Some have bosses 171 distributed peripherally and intended to bear on the neighboring spacer plate or on the spacer disc 160. Each spacer plate has two lower holes 172 intended to be crossed by the pillars 15, 16 of the trunk 1 and a hole 173 at mid-height placed opposite the holes 104 of the combination discs 100.
  • the combination discs 100, the cores 110, the main drive discs 130 and secondary drives 120 and the spacers 170 are fitted onto the pillar 13 of the trunk 1, with the prior insertion of a washer 180.
  • a cover plate 190 keeps all the parts of the lock pressed against one another in the trunk 1. It is held by screwing on the three pillars 14 to 16 of the trunk. She has a horizontal slot 191 in its upper right part, which is intended to guide and support the stud 77 of the bolt 70 during the translational movement of the latter.
  • the lock as a whole is fixed to a door wall 200 by means of threaded pillars 201 integral with this wall, one of them passing through the spacer sleeve 97, these pillars cooperating with nuts 202.
  • a control wheel 210 of the lock has a cylindrical graduated surface 211 circumferentially and a square section rod 212 passing through the door wall 200 to cooperate with the square hole 131 of the main drive disc 130.
  • a cylindrical housing 220 is arranged to receive and hide the part graduated 211 of the control wheel 210. It has a notch 221 in its upper part allowing the observation of the graduated surface 211 by only the user of the lock and the positioning of the wheel 210 opposite a mark 222.
  • the housing 220 is fixed by suitable means to the door wall 200, and the thumbwheel 210 is coupled to the housing 220 by suitable means so as to allow only one rotation d e the wheel relative to the housing.
  • the wheel 210 In operation, when the wheel 210 is turned clockwise, it drives the main drive disc 130. At a given moment of this rotation, the finger 153 of the main drive disc 130 abuts against one end 163 of the light 162 of the spacer disc 160 and then drives the latter in rotation.
  • the arrangement is such that the notches 151 and 161 of the respective discs 130, 160 then occupy the same angular position.
  • the finger 153 of the main drive disc 130 abuts against the finger 122 of the secondary drive disc 120, which starts to rotate.
  • the notch 121 of this disc abuts, at one end, against the radial finger 113 of the adjacent core 110, the latter rotates in turn.
  • the axial finger 111 of the core 110 drives the adjacent secondary drive disk 120, which drives the adjacent core 110.
  • the combination discs 100 being integral with the cores 110, they rotate, so that the angular position of their notch 102 is modified.
  • a door closing mechanism is mounted on the wall of the door, next to the trunk 1 of the lock.
  • this mechanism comprises a keeper 230 extending substantially in the plane of the lock, which has a closed end 231 of L provided with a rectangular opening 232 intended to receive the end 71 of the bolt 70, and another end also provided with a rectangular opening 233.
  • This keeper is pivotally mounted in its plane on an axis 234.
  • axis 234 are pivotally mounted by one end around two axes 241, 251, two rods 240, 250 extending respectively upwards and downwards and intended to cooperate with strikes provided in a doorframe.
  • An L-shaped vertical angle 260 carries on a branch a pin 261 arranged to move in the opening 233 of the keeper 230, and on another branch two horizontal bolts 262, 263 arranged one below the other and arranged to cooperate with two corresponding strikes provided on the door frame.
  • a handle 270 makes it possible to drive the keeper 230 in rotation.
  • the rotation of the handle 270 in the direction of the arrow 271 makes it possible to drive the rods 240, 250 and the bolts 262, 263 according to the arrows 272 in order to separate them from the strikes with which they cooperate, and the rotation of the handle in the opposite direction has the effect of causing them to enter the keepers.
  • the L-shaped end 231 of the keeper 230 carries a screw 235 perpendicular and projecting outwards which is immobilized by a nut 236.
  • the back and forth is therefore in the high position so that the movable wedge 45 is located behind the bolt 70, preventing the latter from being pushed back towards the inside of the lock.
  • the jamming finger 80 rests, by its shoulder 81, on the pan 31 of the back-and-forth movement 30.
  • the combination discs 100 are in a random angular position.
  • the traction hook 90 rests by its shoulder 91 on the finger 38 of the back-and-forth 30, and is therefore maintained in a high position not allowing it to enter the notch 141 of the drive disc 130.
  • rocker 50 is supported by his finger 53 under the bolt 70 (FIG. 2a) and is therefore kept in an inclined position, so that the pusher 55 is almost completely retracted into the lock and is not in contact with the screw. 235 carried by the keeper 230.
  • the traction hook 90 has pivoted under the effect of gravity until it stops at the bottom of the notch 141 of the main drive disc 130: it will in fact be noted that, in FIG. 4b, the hook pull 90 is no longer supported by the finger 38 of the back and forth 30.
  • the lock is ready to be opened: it suffices to continue turning the wheel 210 clockwise to drive the traction hook 90 to the right, and therefore to retract the bolt 70.
  • the progressive re-entry of the bolt 70 has three successive effects: on the one hand, the jamming finger 80 moves back, its free end sliding on the edge of the combination discs 100 until it falls into the notch 102 thereof; on the other hand, the finger 53 of the rocker 50 "falls" into the shoulder of the bolt 70 defined by the abutment face 73 since this finger rubs against the bolt while being resiliently biased in counterclockwise rotation; finally, since the traction hook moves to the right (FIG. 4b), it pushes the release finger 94 against the effect of the spring 98.
  • the keeper 230 can be turned clockwise ( Figures 3a, 3b) from a horizontal position ( Figure 10) using the handle 270. Indeed, on the one hand the bolt 70 does no longer passes through the opening 232 of the keeper 230; on the other hand the screw 235 of the striker abuts, in its rotation, against the pusher 55 which retracts by pivoting counterclockwise. The door is then opened.
  • the handle 270 is turned and therefore the keeper 230 clockwise.
  • the screw 235 therefore abuts on the rounded end 57 of the pusher 55.
  • the latter cannot pivot clockwise since it rests on the projection 54 of the rocker 50, so that the rocker is pushed clockwise, against the effect of the spring 60.
  • the finger 53 of the rocker 50 emerges from the abutment face 73 of the bolt 70: the bolt is then instantly pushed towards its extended position by the leaf spring 85.
  • the jamming finger 80 When the bolt 70 exits, the jamming finger 80 is driven to the left of FIG. 3a, so that it pushes the combination discs 100, which perform a random rotation by a certain angle. In practice, it has been observed that the different combination discs do not travel exactly the same way, so that their notches 102 are no longer aligned.
  • the combination discs 100 are driven in anti-clockwise rotation, they push back, thanks to the rounded end 103 of their notch 102, the finger 38 of the back and forth 30 towards its high position. Furthermore, the traction hook 90 moving away from the release finger 94, it is no longer supported by the latter and comes into abutment on the finger 38 of the back-and-forth 30.
  • the traction hook 90 would remain in the notch 141 of the drive disc 130 after opening the lock, which would allow the informed user, by immobilizing the thumb wheel 210, to prevent the automatic exit of the bolt 70 when the door is closed. This would result in the lock not being closed and the combination discs 100 not being scrambled. In practice, it is therefore preferable to provide a release finger 94.
  • the modification of the coded combination of the lock is carried out by introducing a key or rod through the rear of the lock passing through the hole 12 of the trunk 1, the holes 104 of the combination discs 100, and the holes 173 of the spacing plates 170.
  • the combination discs are then spaced apart, and their cores 110 can be moved in rotation by maneuvering the thumb wheel 210.
  • the finger 35 of the back and forth 30 advantageously rests on the key during this operation since it is located to the right of the hole 12 of the trunk 1 (FIG. 2a): the back-and-forth 30 is therefore held in the high position, so that the traction hook 90 is moved away from the drive disc 130 which can rotate freely.
  • the means for unlocking the bolt in the retracted position for example a pusher, are arranged to cooperate with the fixed strike.
  • FIG. 11 representing a variant of a lock including all the elements of the first lock, and where the unchanged elements bear the same references as in the first lock, illustrates the state of the lock after it has been opened but before the user has released the thumbwheel 210 (fig. 1 b).
  • the traction hook 90 is held captive in the notch 1410 of the main drive disc 1300.
  • the release finger 94 rests on the traction hook 90, it cannot rotate it counterclockwise. This is what allows an informed user to prevent the automatic exit of the bolt 70 when the door is closed and thus to prohibit the closing of the lock and the jamming of the combination discs.
  • the lock shown in Figures 11 and 12 is arranged to require the user to release the thumbwheel 210 before the door can be opened.
  • the main drive disc 1300 has, like that 130 of the previous lock, two discs joined 1400, 1500 and it differs in that its disc 1400 has a second notch 1420 in the form of V, delimited by two sides 1421,1422 .
  • An T-shaped auxiliary bolt 700 is provided, comprising a leg 701 and two arms 702.703, one of which 703 is extended by a finger 704 of narrower width, rounded at its end.
  • the auxiliary bolt 700 is mounted in the lock, against the face of the bolt 70 facing outwards from the lock. Its arm 702 passes through a light 800 formed in the trunk 1000, below the light 8. Its arm 703 is guided between the base of the traction hook 90 and the pillar 15. Its leg 701, facing the side wall 4 of the trunk 1000, extends between the side wall 3 and the base of the traction hook 90. Thus, the bolt auxiliary 700 can slide in a direction parallel to the sliding direction of the bolt 70.
  • a helical spring 1600 is mounted on the pillar 14 and comprises two branches 1601, 1602 one of which rests on the side wall 4 of the trunk 1000 and the other on a side face of the leg 701 of the auxiliary bolt 700, turned towards the side wall 3 of the boot 1000, so that the auxiliary bolt is returned to a retracted position.
  • the finger 704 of the auxiliary bolt is supported on the lateral face of the disc 1400.
  • the finger 704 is supported on the non-notched part of the lateral surface of the disc 1400, so that the arm 702 of the auxiliary bolt 700 extends outside the trunk 1000 beyond the bolt 70, until passing through a light 2321 formed in the strike 2300 , below the light 2320 intended to receive the bolt 70. Under these conditions, the user cannot open the door.
