Description

The invention relates to a material web, in particular for paper machine clothing for the press section of a paper machine, as a filter medium or as a press pad for the chipboard presses, with knitting threads extending in one direction, each of which envelops a core thread, and with binding threads running at right angles thereto. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing this material web, in which mesh threads are produced with core threads covered by them and, after alignment, are connected with binding threads in a parallel, parallel position.

Such a material web and such a method for producing this material web is known from EP-A 0 106 132.

In this document a paper machine clothing is disclosed in which unidirectional mesh threads are used. These mesh threads can contain soul threads made of different materials. According to the embodiment shown in Figure (3), the stitch threads are interwoven with weft threads running in the transverse direction, i.e. the weft threads are passed around the stitch threads. The description also assumes a fabric structure for the paper machine clothing. The stitch threads are produced individually on a knitting machine and then woven in a weaving machine with the weft threads, optionally with further warp threads.

A corresponding paper machine clothing is described in EP-A 0 059 973. This wet felt also has a woven fabric in which some warp threads extending in the longitudinal direction are formed as knitted threads. These threads are elastically compressible and are intended to improve back elasticity and drainage.

The paper machine clothing described in the aforementioned publications are all made in a conventional manner, i. H. made by weaving. Especially if these coverings are to be made very broad, this type of production is time-consuming and therefore costly.

In addition, attempts have been made to produce paper machine clothing from warp knitted fabrics, as can be seen in DE-A 2 436 293. In such a warp knitted fabric, the individual longitudinal threads are knitted together in the transverse direction, i.e. in principle, no transverse threads are provided for their integration in this direction. However, in order to support the structural stability of the warp knitted fabric, it is proposed to additionally insert yarns in the warp and / or weft direction. Although cost advantages could be expected from the use of warp knitted fabrics as a support structure, such paper machine clothing has not been used to date.

Finally, machine felts are known, for example for filtering purposes, which consist of voluminous threads running parallel in the transverse direction and tricot seams extending parallel and in the longitudinal direction parallel to one another (DE-A 2 213 421). The cross threads go through the mesh of the tricot seams and the material thus formed is then needled for the purpose of felting. The transverse threads essentially form the filter-effective fiber material, while the tricot seams give a certain strength in the longitudinal direction. In addition, weft threads are provided which link the tricot seams to one another in the transverse direction. However, a machine felt with this structure cannot withstand the high stresses to which paper machine clothing or press pads are exposed and is therefore unsuitable for this purpose.

The invention has for its object to give a material web of the type mentioned in such a structure that it is quick and inexpensive to manufacture, and to provide a method that allows such a production.

The first-mentioned object is achieved according to the invention in that the binding threads in the form of a magazine weft pass straight through the stitch threads.

This structure of a material web allows, despite the more fabric-like design, the quick and inexpensive production on a knitting machine according to the method according to the invention, in which all stitch threads are produced simultaneously and at the desired distance next to one another by continuous stitch formation with simultaneous feeding of the soul thread and subsequently a magazine weft through the stitch threads is driven. For the production of the material web, only a correspondingly wide knitting machine with magazine weft device is required. The set-up time for this knitting machine is very short compared to weaving machines and the production speed is also much higher. The soul threads can be optimally adapted to the respective requirements, whereby different materials can be combined with each other. The soul thread is held together by the stitch thread in such a way that twisting of the individual yarns of the thread is not necessary. It is sufficient if it is available as a bundle of threads. It is therefore also possible to use or combine yarn materials that cannot be twisted together. By saving the twisting mill there is an additional cost saving effect.

Another advantage of the material web according to the invention is that the covering has a pronounced longitudinal structure in the direction of the threads formed from mesh and core threads. Insofar as this web of material is used as paper machine clothing and this structure runs in the longitudinal direction of the paper machine clothing, this creates a drainage effect in this direction. Taking into account the latest knowledge about the drainage in the press nip between two press rolls, such a drainage effect is extremely desirable and leads to a high drainage of the paper web.

The mesh threads expediently consist of a thin monofilament, since they only have to absorb tensile forces to a small extent. The tensile forces are expediently taken over by the tension threads forming the soul threads or existing as part of the soul threads. In addition, filler threads made from a wide variety of materials can then be inserted to give the soul threads the desired volume. For example, spun yarns, multifilaments, foam rolls, ribbon structures or even mineral fibers, straw, paper, and electrically conductive materials such as metal fibers or the like can be inserted. If a tension thread is present, the tensile strength of the filler threads is no longer important, so that yarn or thread material that is only able to absorb low tensile forces can also be used.

It is recommended that the magazine shots all run on one side of the soul threads, and expediently on the back. In this case, the paper contact side is formed only by the threads which are formed from the combination of mesh and core threads. Accordingly, a distinctive longitudinal structure with a good drainage effect is also created on this side.

For the threads running in the other direction, monofilaments, but also in particular thin multifiles, are suitable, since the latter have a higher slip resistance and accordingly ensure better transverse stability of the longitudinal threads.

In a further embodiment of the invention it is provided that the material web is designed as a needle felt. This can be done by forming the soul threads from voluminous fiber material, which is needled for the purpose of felting. However, a nonwoven fabric can also be applied to at least one side of the covering and connected to the scrim by needling. Such a needle felt is particularly suitable as a filter medium, but also as a paper machine covering, in particular as a wet felt for the press section.

EP-A2-0 098 502, DE-A1-32 35 468). Die erfindungsgemäße Materialbahn läßt sich also vielfältig einsetzen.In addition, there is also the possibility of storing the material web in a liquid-impermeable plastic band in order to use such a band in wet presses with an extended press nip (cf. EP-A3-0 138 797, DE-A1-32 31 039). Alternatively or in combination, it can also be provided that the material web is only partially embedded in a liquid-impermeable plastic band and protrudes on one side of the plastic web with the formation of open channels for liquid removal (cf. EP-A2-0 098 502, DE-A1- 32 35 468). The web of material according to the invention can thus be used in a variety of ways.

  • Figur (1) eine Draufsicht auf den Längsfaden Für eine Papiermaschinenbespannung;
  • Figur (2) einen Querschnitt durch den Längsfaden gemäß Figur (1);
In the drawing, the invention is illustrated in more detail using exemplary embodiments. Show it:
  • Figure (1) is a plan view of the longitudinal thread for a paper machine clothing;
  • Figure (2) shows a cross section through the longitudinal thread according to Figure (1);
  • Figure (3) is a plan view of part of a paper machine clothing using the longitudinal threads according to Figures (1) and (2).

The longitudinal thread (1) shown in Figures (1) and (2) basically consists of a core thread (2) and a warp-knitted stitch thread (3) surrounding the core thread (2). The soul thread (2) forms - as Figure (2) in particular shows - a bundle of threads from a total of six individual threads (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9). Two (4, 8) of these individual threads are formed as monofilaments from a tensile material, for example polyamide, and essentially absorb the tensile stresses acting on the longitudinal thread (1). The remaining individual threads (5, 6, 7, 9) can consist of a wide variety of materials, since they are relieved of tensile force by the monofilament individual threads (4, 8). The bundle of threads is not twisted together because it is enveloped by the stitch thread (3) and held together.

Figure (3) shows a section of a paper machine clothing, which has been produced using the longitudinal threads (1) shown in Figures (1) and (2). The longitudinal threads (1) run parallel in the running direction of the paper machine clothing. The thread density is relatively low, for example three threads / cm. In this way, appropriately directed drainage channels are created between the longitudinal threads (1), which support the drainage. In the transverse direction, machine wefts run through the mesh threads at regular intervals - denoted by (10) for example -. They each cross through the stitches of the stitch threads (3) and lie on the underside of the soul threads (2). Their distance from one another can be varied by the number of stitches per unit length and by the fact that a machine weft (10) is not placed through each stitch. For example, the stitch density can be 6 to 9 stitches / cm and the magazine weft density can be 3 threads / cm. Of course, other values can also be considered.

The section shown in Figure (3) shows only one layer of the paper machine clothing. It is possible to lay several such layers on top of each other and to connect them with needle felting. If the seams of the individual layers are staggered, a special seam connection can be dispensed with.
