Abstract
Description
The subject of the present invention is a chimney cap, formed of a set of sheet metal elements, comprising an annular lining of vertical axis which delimits, with one or more upper elements and one or more lower elements, from the passages located at two different levels.
We know that it is advantageous to line chimneys with capes of this kind capable of preventing the penetration of rain into the chimney and ensuring draft regardless of the wind direction. Thus for example, the Swiss patent disclosure CH-492 933 describes a cape which comprises several tapered external linings which engage one in the other so as to delimit with an upper shutter and a lower element which extends the smoke duct of the pairs of superimposed annular passages.
In some constructions, in particular in individual villas, a chimney is often provided at present, which comprises two or more parallel smoke pipes, connected for example one to a living room fireplace and the other to an oven bread or grill in another room. However, the known capes, suitable for such chimneys, have the drawback that the draft effect obtained by the lining can cause a backflow of smoke from one duct into the other.
The present invention therefore aims to achieve an efficient cape, whose construction and assembly are simple, and which is suitable for chimneys with several smoke ducts, this cape avoiding the drawback mentioned above.
For this purpose, the chimney cap according to the invention is characterized in that it is arranged to garnish a chimney which comprises at least two parallel smoke ducts, in that the lining is an element in the form of a trunk of pyramid which is connected to several lower elements each adapted to one of the flues and which is divided into separate sections by one or more separating separating elements each with two opposite walls of the lining and with an upper surface of a partition wall between two smoke pipes.
- fig. 1 is a sectional view along line II of FIG. 2 showing a first embodiment of the chimney cap,
- fig. 2 is a sectional view along line II-II of FIG. 1,
- fig. 3 is a perspective view of the first embodiment and
- fig. 4 is a partially cutaway perspective view showing a second embodiment of the object of the invention.
In general, the chimney breast is made by means of flat sheet metal segments. Preferably, it will be made of copper. All the elements of the cape are connected to each other, in principle by welding and the rigid block in one piece that forms the cape, is fixed to a frame by means of hinges, so that it can be overturned to free the smoke pipes which are built in masonry.
1, we can see the upper end of a
2.The chimney cap proper 7 consists of an
The cape in one piece, shown in fig. 4, is also connected to the
The arrangement described has the advantage of being simple in construction while being effective. The upper end of each
Finally, the assembly and maintenance of the chimney breast and the chimney on which it is mounted are also simplified.
