Definitions
- the invention relates to a housing for a radial fan according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a housing is known from US-A-3 653 116.
- a housing for a radial fan essentially consists of two side parts and a jacket.
- the side parts are predominantly produced as flat punched sheet metal plates, which are provided with an angled flange on their circumference.
- the jacket is bent from a flat sheet by one or more rolling operations into the shape corresponding to the circumference of the side parts.
- the three parts are then connected to one another by spot welding connections between the jacket and the angled flanges of the side parts.
- a radial blower with a housing is known from US Pat. No. 3,653,116, in which the casing is provided on its two circumferentially extending sides with a radially outwardly angled slot fold, which is directed radially inwards Forms slot (see Figure 3).
- the flat side parts with their outer edges are inserted into this slot, whereupon the flanges of the fold are pressed together and thus firmly clamp the side parts.
- the compression can take place, for example, by hammering.
- the disadvantage of this manufacturing method is that the jacket between the initial region a (see FIG. 1) of the flow channel spiral 9 and the outlet port 8 of the housing is not provided with slot folds by rolling one Sheet metal can be produced because the bend of the jacket in this area is too strong.
- the housing according to US Pat. No. 3,653,116 dispenses with the strong curvature of the casing wall in the area mentioned, so that the casing wall abuts the exhaust nozzle at a right angle. Such a geometry results in unfavorable flow conditions.
- the jacket wall in another known embodiment, in which the strong curvature of the jacket wall in the initial area is dispensed with, the jacket wall extends approximately rectilinearly from the initial area of the flow channel spiral to the outlet nozzle.
- a correspondingly shaped additional part a so-called tongue, is arranged in the area mentioned on the inside of the jacket wall.
- this double-walled construction of the housing shell in the area between the initial region of the flow channel spiral and the outlet connection represents a considerable additional outlay in the production of the housing.
- Another disadvantage of this known design is that the fan wheel can only be installed through the suction opening, which in addition forces at least one inlet nozzle 20 (FIG. 2) to be designed as a removable part in order to be able to insert the fan wheel axially from the side.
- a radial blower in which the side parts do not consist of flat sheets, but are angled outwards at their edge, while the casing is provided with a slot fold on the edge, the slot opening of which points inwards and which emerges from the outer surface of the jacket.
- the jacket is replaced by a tongue designed as an independent part, which consists of a flat part lying on the discharge nozzle and the end of the flow channel forming strongly curved part.
- the flat part is formed on its sides in exactly the same way as the jacket described above and is connected in the same way to the side parts. This connection holds the tongue in place in radial fans.
- the strongly curved part has no deformation on its edge sides, but lies flush with them on the side parts, which are also formed in this strongly curved part with a blunt edge. Furthermore, the curved part of the tongue is provided with an extension which, when assembled, lies under the adjacent end of the jacket. In this embodiment, a positive connection between the tongue and the side parts is not present in the strongly curved area, so that there is also no complete seal of the flow channel spiral housing in this area. Air can therefore escape between the tongue and the side parts at these points without additional measures.
- the invention has for its object to develop a housing for a radial fan of the type mentioned, which is relatively easy to manufacture, in which there is a good seal along the entire boundary lines between the side parts and jacket and in which the fan wheel easily - And can be expanded, which is important for maintenance purposes.
- a housing for a radial fan is proposed according to the preamble of claim 1, which according to the invention has the features mentioned in the characterizing part of claim 1.
- the housing shown in Figures 1 and 2 for a radial fan is constructed from two substantially flat mirror-image side parts 1a, 1b and a jacket 2.
- the jacket 2 is made of a flat sheet metal strip, the areas of which are angled on the long sides of the sheet metal and each form a slot fold 5 with a slot 6 ( Figure 3).
- This sheet metal provided with the two slot folds 5 is bent in a bending device into an arc shape which corresponds to the spiral circumferential distance from b to c in FIG. 1. The bending takes place on the side facing away from the slot folds 5, so that the slot folds 5 are radially outward and the slots 6 are open radially inwards.
- the side parts 1a, 1b are inserted into these slots, and then the slot folds are pressed together, so that the side parts 1a, 1b are firmly clamped in them.
- the compression can be done, for example, by hammering, and the cohesion can be strengthened by embossing points in the fold area.
- the jacket In the circumferential range from approximately b to d, the jacket consists of a sheet metal which is bent in the circumferential direction into the shape shown in FIG. 1. This part, which is referred to as tongue 4, does not have any lateral slit folds. Because of the large radius of curvature that the tongue has in the bent state, it would not be possible to bend a sheet metal provided with slot folds.
- the molding In order to connect the tongue 4 to the rest of the housing, according to the invention there are two molding strips 11a, 11b which are mirror images of one another, of which the molding strip 11a is shown on an enlarged scale in FIGS. 4 and 5. In its longitudinal direction, the molding is adapted to the course of the periphery of the side part in the range from b to d in FIG. 1. In cross section (FIG. 4), the molding consists of two flanges 12, 13 which are at right angles to one another, each of which is provided with a slot 12a, 13a.
- the two moldings belonging to a housing are pushed onto one longitudinal side of the tongue 4, and then the tongue 4 with the two moldings is placed on the two side parts 1a, 1b so that the radially outer edges of the side parts in the protrude another slot 12a.
- the slots 12a, 13a are dimensioned in such a way that they can easily be pushed on by hand with a certain clamping effect of the slots.
- the tongue 4 is offset radially inwards by a short piece 4a. With this stepped end part, the tongue is pushed under the casing 2 when inserted into the housing.
- the slots 12a, 13a of the molding are widened at their end facing the jacket 2 over a short distance e (see FIG. 5), so that they can be pushed over the slot fold 5 or the jacket plate.
- the radially directed flange 12 is preferably made somewhat longer in the longitudinal direction (circumferential direction) of the molding than the axially directed flange 13a receiving the tongue 4.
- the molding strip is provided with a flange 17 which can be placed on the side part and via which the molding strip can be screwed to the side part by means of a screw 13.
- the radially outward-pointing flange 12 and the cheek 13b (FIG. 4) of the axially directed flange 13 are removed.
- the invention provides a housing for a radial fan, in which the casing 2 can be provided with the advantageous slot folds 5 already known and bent.
- the tongue 4 can be easily inserted with the aid of the molded strips and can be easily removed by loosening the screw 13.
- the fan wheel 22 can be easily inserted into the housing through this opening.
- the bearings of the fan wheel are held by a three-arm linkage 21 which can be screwed onto the side parts. Thanks to the radial insertability of the fan wheel 22, the inlet nozzles 20, whose inner diameter is smaller than that of the fan wheel, can be produced by simply impressing the side parts in the region of their central opening.
- the moldings are preferably designed as injection molded parts and preferably consist of a suitable plastic.

Description
- Figur 2
- einen Schnitt längs der Linie A-A in Figur 1,
- Figur 3
