Abstract

Corkscrew, consisting substantially of two handle parts each provided with a metal tongue and being mutually shiftable within a common guide sleeve. For uncorking a bottle, the two metal tongues are successively introduced between the cork and the bottle neck, under automatic centering. Thus the cork is clamped between the two metal tongues and can without damage thereto be pulled out of the bottle neck, combined with a rotatory motion.

Description

The innovation relates to a corkscrew according to the preamble of claim 1.
Such a corkscrew is known from DE - GM 74 39 782 and G 86 24 741.7.
In the known corkscrew, the metal tongues are arranged on a one-piece handle, so that in use the metal tongues must be freely inserted between the cork and the bottle neck. This is usually only possible with the help of the second hand, since the distance between the free ends of the metal tongues does not correspond to the diameter of the bottle opening. Furthermore, in such a corkscrew, the two metal tongues must be inserted between the cork and the bottle neck by alternately tilting the handle. Nevertheless, a not very tight cork can be easily pushed into the bottle. On the other hand, when corks are stuck, a great deal of force is required to insert the tongues.

The invention has for its object to develop a corkscrew according to the preamble of claim 1 so that its handling is significantly simplified. Furthermore, despite the simplified handling of the pushing in of a relatively loosely seated cork, it should be avoided as far as possible and the effort required to insert the metal tongues should be reduced.

The object is achieved according to the invention in that the shaft part is arranged displaceably in a guide sleeve and the guide sleeve is provided with a centering edge which can be plugged onto a bottle neck. The guide sleeve can thus be placed on the bottle neck in a simple manner and the shaft part guided by it with the metal tongues is thus centered with respect to the bottle opening.
Characterized in that the shaft part is divided in the longitudinal direction into two shaft halves and a grip tab and a metal tongue is arranged on each shaft half, by moving one shaft half first a metal tongue and then by moving the other shaft half, the other metal tongue can be inserted between the cork and the bottle neck. As a result, when the first metal tongue is pressed in, only half the force acts on the cork, so that even with a relatively loose fit, pressing the cork down into the bottle is largely avoided. When the second metal tongue is pressed in, the cork is then additionally clamped by the first metal tongue, thus providing additional security against being pushed in.
For the handling of the corkscrew, it is particularly advantageous that a guide ring which is set back in relation to the centering edge in the axial direction of the guide sleeve and whose opening has a diameter corresponding to the diameter of the bottle opening is arranged in the guide sleeve. Such a guide ring serves as a stop when the corkscrew is placed on it, and its opening, which is adapted to the diameter of the bottle opening, aligns the metal tongues precisely to the size of the bottle opening, so that the metal tongues can be inserted exactly between the cork and the bottle neck.
Because the metal tongues are curved inwards with respect to their longitudinal axis, the cork is clamped so tightly that it can be pulled out of the bottle neck with certainty.

The insertion of the metal tongues is made even easier by the fact that the metal tongues, which should consist of spring steel with good resilience, are pointed at their free ends.

  • Figur 1: Einen Korkenzieher (isometrisch)
The invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawings:
  • Figure 1: A corkscrew (isometric)
  • Figure 2: Partial view / partial section of the corkscrew placed on a bottle head with a shaft half shifted downwards. The steel tongue is between the bottle neck and cork.
  • Figure 3: A metal tongue in cross section 1 - 1

1 with a guide sleeve is designated in which one of two shaft halves 2 u. 3 existing shaft part by appropriate guide members 4 u. 5 are guided displaceably in the axial direction of the guide sleeve 1. The guide elements also serve to limit the guide path.
On each half of the shaft 2 u. 3, a metal tongue 6 or 7 is arranged. The metal tongues are at a distance corresponding to the diameter of bottle openings on the shaft halves 2 u. 3 arranged and project in the axial direction of the guide sleeve. These are convexly curved inwards.
On the side of the guide sleeve 1 which can be placed on a bottle, a guide ring 9 is inserted into the guide sleeve 1. This guide ring 9 is set back somewhat from the end of the guide sleeve 1, so that an edge 10 is formed which overlaps the bottle neck. The opening 11 of the guide ring has a diameter corresponding to the diameter of a bottle opening.
Before putting on a bottle head 12, both shaft halves 2 u. 3 pulled upwards by means of the handle straps 13 provided on them. The metal tongues 6 u. 7 slide along the inner edge of the guide ring 9. The displacement of the shaft part is dimensioned so that the free ends 8 of the metal tongues 6 u. 7 with the shaft part completely raised, lie approximately in the plane of the guide ring 9 facing the edge 10. The free ends 8 of the metal tongues 6 u. 7 are due to their elasticity on the inner edge of the guide ring 9 and are due to the diameter of the bottle opening diameter of the opening 11 of the guide ring 9 in the position in which they by pressing the respective shaft half 2 or 3 between the bottle neck 12 and one cork 14 located therein can be inserted.
As shown in FIG. 3, the metal tongues are rounded concavely about their longitudinal axis, the radius of curvature corresponding approximately to the radius of the bottle opening. For uncorking, the two shaft halves 2 u. 3 pulled up by means of their grip tabs 13. The free ends 8 of the metal tongues 6 u. 7 are compressed by the guide ring 9 according to the diameter of the bottle opening. As a result, an additional contact pressure of the metal tongues 6 u. 7 reached on the cork 14, so that this from the metal tongues 6 u. 7 is pulled up safely. The corkscrew should be rotated about its longitudinal axis, whereby a further loosening of the cork 14 in the bottle neck 12 takes place. Due to the concave formation of the metal tongues 6 u. 7, on the one hand, such a rotary movement of the corkscrew is greatly facilitated and, on the other hand, the cork 14 is securely carried along, since a large contact surface between the cork 14 and the metal tongues 6 u. 7 is given.
With the corkscrew described, a cork can be pulled out of the flat neck quickly and without any damage.
