Bei dieser Vorrichtung ist ferner jeweils vor und hinter der Zupf- oder Abtragwalze eine zu ihr achsparallele Druckwalze angeordnet, die mit gezahnten Ringen bestückt ist und angetrieben wird. Diese auf die Oberfläche der Ballen drückenden Walzen sollen ein Umkippen der Ballen beim Abarbeiten verhin­dern, da dies durch den Rost allein meist nicht gelingt. Der Spitzenkreis der hinteren Zahnwalze soll besonders eng zum Spitzenkreis der Abtragwalze ange­ordnet sein. Der Abstand der beiden Spitzenkreise von­einander beträgt maximal 5 mm. Das Abtragen von auf dem Boden liegenden Materialresten wird dadurch ermöglicht, daß die hintere Zahnwalze schwenkbar gelagert ist und durch Federkraft auf den Ballen gedrückt wird. Um ein Mitreißen von Fasermaterial durch die Zahn­walzen zu verhindern, sind die Zähne der Zahnwalzen ent­gegen der Drehrichtung der Walzen gerichtet. Vorrichtung zum Abarbeiten von Faserballen mit einer hin- und herfahrbaren, mit Zähnen besetzten Abtrag­walze und je einer vor und hinter der Abtragwalze achsparallel zu dieser angeordneten, auf die Ballen­oberfläche drückenden Zahnwalze, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Fußkreis (F₂, F₃) der Zähne (21, 31) der Zahnwalzen (2, 3) eine Ebene (E₂, E₃) tangiert, die in oder unterhalb der vom Spitzenkreis (S₁) der Abtragwalze (1) tangierten Ebene (E₁) liegt.1.
