Abstract

The known methods for homogenising the field distribution in a cooking space heated by microwaves, such as rotating antennas, rotating plates and wave stirrers, are relatively expensive. The characteristic impedance is periodically changed by means of a rotating element (5) arranged in the waveguide (3) between the magnetron (1) and the injection aperture (6) into the cooking space (2). In this way, the output frequency of the magnetron is also changed, resulting in homogenisation of the field. <IMAGE>
