- roller skis are known as a summer training device for cross-country skiers.
- the rubber-tired wheels have a relatively small diameter and are therefore only suitable for flat terrain with a solid surface, for example for asphalt roads.
- wheels In order to be able to use such roller skis also away from paved roads, for example on forest paths, it is also known to use wheels with a larger diameter.
- roller skis designed in this way are outstandingly suitable for fitness training because, compared to endurance running, the joints are less exposed to shock loads and the arm work with the ski poles means that the entire body is more involved in the fitness training.
- the object of the invention is therefore to further develop the roller skis of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that they can be braked in a sloping terrain without an expensive braking device by means of a movement process known to the skier.

- the brake pads on the wheels and the counter-braking surfaces on the side members enable the runner to carry out a braking process that is precisely metered in the braking effect by pressing the inner sides of the roller skis against each other with a slight offset in the running direction. To do this, it is sufficient to offset the roller skis by a little less than a foot length, similar to normal downhill skiing, and press them together with your knees pressed together. A particularly intensive braking effect is obtained if the skis are moved slightly less than the diameter of the wheels in the direction of travel during the braking process. In this case, the oppositely moving brake pads rub against each other directly on the wheels, which results in a particularly strong braking effect.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a pair of roller skis, in which each ski has a side member provided with a binding for a ski boot, on which rubber-tired wheels are mounted at the front and rear, one or more of which are provided with a backstop.
Such roller skis are known as a summer training device for cross-country skiers. In this case, the rubber-tired wheels have a relatively small diameter and are therefore only suitable for flat terrain with a solid surface, for example for asphalt roads. In order to be able to use such roller skis also away from paved roads, for example on forest paths, it is also known to use wheels with a larger diameter. In principle, roller skis designed in this way are outstandingly suitable for fitness training because, compared to endurance running, the joints are less exposed to shock loads and the arm work with the ski poles means that the entire body is more involved in the fitness training.
A particular problem with the use of such roller skis is being able to brake the roller skis in sloping terrain. A large number of proposals exist in the patent literature for brake devices acting on the wheels, which are triggered with a ski pole, over a rope, by hand, with the heel or calf of the runner. However, all of these braking devices are too complicated in construction and hinder the natural movement sequence, so that roller skis of this type with braking device have hardly been used.
From DE-OS 28 23 152 it is known to design the carrier to be tiltable about an axis running in the direction of travel and to provide it with brake shoes acting on the wheels. This should make it possible to achieve a braking effect by tilting the roller ski, that is to say by means of a movement that is also known in normal skiing. However, this braking device has the disadvantage that unexpected and unexpected braking operations occur for the runner when the terrain is inclined transversely to the direction of travel or there are corresponding bumps in the ground. Such unwanted and unpredictable braking processes can lead to unpleasant falls.
The object of the invention is therefore to further develop the roller skis of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that they can be braked in a sloping terrain without an expensive braking device by means of a movement process known to the skier.
To achieve this object, the invention proposes, starting from the pair of roller skis of the type mentioned, that each ski has two parallel rear wheels, of which the inner wheel on the side facing the adjacent roller ski is provided with a brake lining attached to the side of the wheel, the brake lining projecting slightly inwards beyond the inner lateral boundary of the longitudinal member extending in the direction of travel and that this lateral boundary of the longitudinal member is provided with a counter braking surface which runs essentially parallel to the brake lining on the inner impeller.
The brake pads on the wheels and the counter-braking surfaces on the side members enable the runner to carry out a braking process that is precisely metered in the braking effect by pressing the inner sides of the roller skis against each other with a slight offset in the running direction.
In order to be able to replace the brake linings or the counter-braking surfaces, which are wearing parts, if necessary, it is further provided that the brake linings and / or the counter-braking surfaces are exchangeably fastened to the impellers or the inner lateral boundary of the side member.
In order to give the roller skis good stability against canting to the outside during the braking process, it is further provided that each ski has one parallel and two parallel wheels at the front, with the side member being cranked sideways at the rear end in a horizontal plane in such a way that on the one hand the inner, rear wheel in the running direction immediately behind the heel of the ski boot and on the other hand the outer rear wheel offset laterally outwards behind the heel of the ski boot. This arrangement of the impellers also ensures that the inner impellers do not come into contact with each other so easily during the run.
Advantageously, the side member is additionally bent downwards in such a way that the base of the ski boot lies below the axes of the wheels. As a result, the roller skis are always in a stable equilibrium position, which is particularly advantageous during the braking process, in which forces act on the roller skis from the side.
- Fig 1 Einen Rollski gemäß der Erfindung in Draufsicht;

In the drawing, the longitudinal member is designated by the
At the rear end, the
As can be seen from Fig. 2, the
According to the invention, the
It is braked in that either the
