Die Walzen 5 und 7 liegen einander so nahe, daß die Zähne der Kämmwalze 7 die Fräswalze 5 von darauf noch verbliebenen Fasern befreien können; vorzugsweise liegen sie derart, daß die Umfangskreise der Zähne beider Walzen 5 und 7 einander berühren oder einander etwas überschneiden.
