Description

The invention relates to an elastic barrier for the temporary closure of a traffic lane; it relates more particularly to an improvement of the structure forming both the storage box of said barrier and one of the fixing posts of the net constituting the part of the barrier capable of being deployed across said circulation path.

An elastic barrier of the type mentioned above is known, consisting of a net of straps, fixed by its two ends to two uprights firmly anchored on either side of the traffic lane. Such barriers are used, for example, to temporarily prohibit access to a predetermined section of a road with heavy traffic (urban highway, for example), for the purpose of carrying out maintenance work, or even to transform , on certain days, a road or walkway. The barrier is permanently installed on the edge of the taxiway and, when it is not deployed, the net is stored in a box installed on a concrete slab. This box also contains one of the thread fixing posts. It has the general shape of a rectangular parallelepiped with a fairly narrow face, provided with an elongated, vertical window, for the passage of the net. Hitherto, it has been necessary to arrange the housing so that said narrow face is opposite the traffic lane, that is to say so that the large faces of the housing are perpendicular thereto. This constraint in the implantation of the housing has been found to be troublesome in certain cases where there is only a small space, transverse to the track.

The invention makes it possible to solve this drawback by proposing a structure for a mounting upright and a housing which can be oriented in two different ways relative to the traffic lane.

In this spirit, the invention essentially relates to an elastic barrier for closing a traffic lane comprising:
  • - a net capable of being deployed across said taxiway,
  • - A storage box for said net intended to be installed near an edge of said traffic lane, including or housing a first fixing upright to which said net is fixed by one end; and
  • - A second upright intended to be installed near the other edge of said traffic lane, this second upright comprising means for hooking the other end of said net, characterized in that said housing is elongated in a direction and comprises or surmounts a corresponding elongated base on which are fixed said first upright and a third upright for the recovery of the forces exerted on the net and in that said first and third uprights are respectively fixed near the ends furthest from said base so that , if the latter is positioned with its elongated part substantially parallel to said traffic lane, said net can be stretched between said first and second uprights by partially winding along said third upright.

According to a possible embodiment, said first and third uprights are integral with the same elongated, metallic base, itself fixed to a concrete slab poured into the ground. This base is most often rectangular and represents the base surface of the housing. The first and third uprights are then respectively fixed to this base near the most distant ends thereof, so that the latter can be positioned with its elongated portion substantially parallel to the taxiway.

  • - la figure 1 est une vue générale de dessus de l'ensemble d'une barrière élastique conforme à l'invention, le filet représenté en trait interrompu étant montré en position d'utilisation au travers d'une voie de circulation;
The invention will be better understood and other advantages thereof will appear more clearly in the light of the following description of a currently preferred embodiment of a system in accordance with its principle, given solely by way of example and made with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
  • - Figure 1 is a general top view of the assembly of an elastic barrier according to the invention, the net shown in broken lines being shown in the position of use through a traffic lane;
  • - Figure 2 is an elevational view of the housing of Figure 1, seen along the arrow II of Figure 1; and
  • - Figure 3 is a detail view illustrating the fixing structure of the housing on a concrete slab.

This barrier is essentially composed of a net 13 of straps, of a housing 14 including a first amount of fixing 15 of said thread and of a second fixing amount 16 similar to the amount 15 but of circular section. The housing and the first upright are located on one side of the traffic lane, while the second upright 16 is located on the other side of the latter.

In the embodiment described, the housing 14 has the general shape of a rectangular parallelepiped and comprises a base 18 of steel, rectangular, on which is fixed, by welding, the first upright 15. The fixing is reinforced by two gussets triangular 19 also welded between the base and the foot of the upright 15. The latter carries laterally, at different levels, three anchoring pieces 20 to which are fixed the horizontal straps of the net 13. It further carries, at its upper part, a support 22 slightly straightened relative to the horizontal from its fixing point and intended to support the net in the storage position. The latter in fact carries rings along its upper edge, which can be engaged on the support 22, which is cantilevered with respect to the first upright 15. The support 22 projects towards a window 24 vertically elongated, formed on a small face 26 of the housing 14, for the passage of the thread 13. The upright 15 is fixed to the base 14 at an angle thereof and the window 24 is opposite said upright.

According to the invention, a third upright 30, for the recovery of the forces exerted on the net, is fixed to the base 18, parallel to the upright 15. It forms part of the housing 14 and is fixed to said base at an angle to that opposite opposite diagonally to that where said first upright 15. The third upright 30 is therefore located in the vicinity of the window 24. One of the vertical edges of the latter is moreover defined by one side of the upright 30. The other vertical edge of said window is defined by a fold back 32 of a door 34 occupying at least part of a large face of the housing 14, perpendicular to the small face 26. This door is articulated by hinges 36 fixed along the first upright 15. A flap 38 making it possible to prohibit access to the interior of the housing through the window 24 when the net 13 is in the storage position, is mounted articulated by hinges 40 along the upright 30 The fixing of the latter to the e mbase 18 is reinforced by gussets 19 similar to those of the upright 15. The second upright 16 is provided laterally with anchoring pieces 42 to which the other end of the net 13 is fixed, by means of snap hooks 43. These are chosen with a lower mechanical resistance than the other elements of the barrier (straps and uprights) to yield when a vehicle encounters the taut net. The base 18 is mounted on a concrete slab 46 poured into the ground at the edge of the traffic lane 12. It therefore has four holes 48, in the vicinity of the first upright 15, corresponding to four oblong holes 50, of the type with buttonhole, defined on the upper wall 51 of a metal box 52, embedded in the concrete slab 46 so that the upper wall 51 is flush with the said slab. The internal face of the upper wall 51 carries blocking pieces 56, here with a U-shaped profile, probed, surrounding the narrowed areas of the oblong holes 50 with buttonholes. The mounting of the housing 14 is thus simplified by the fact that the bolt heads engaged in the oblong holes 50 by passing them through the enlarged parts thereof, can be locked in rotation by the locking pieces 56. The base 18 further comprises two other holes 58, in the vicinity of the upright 30, making it possible to engage other anchor rods in the concrete slab.

Le montant 15 est alors plus éloigné de la voie de circulation 12 que le montant 30.As clearly shown in Figure 1, the housing 14 can be installed "parallel" to the traffic lane 12. In this case, the net 13, when deployed, wraps a quarter turn around the upright 30 which absorbs the bending moments possibly transmitted to the housing by the thread 13. Nothing prevents, however, from mounting the housing "perpendicular" to the traffic lane if this is possible or desirable. The amount 15 is then further from the traffic lane 12 than the amount 30.
