Definitions

  • This invention relates to a removable lining or insole for insertion without fixation in a footwear item.
  • an insole decreases the interior volume of the shoe, for a better adaptation of a shoe that is slightly too wide at the foot. If the insole has been previously treated with appropriate chemicals, it can combat bad odors emitted by the foot.
  • the insole can contribute to the ventilation of the shoe, and increases the comfort of the foot by acting as a cushion.
  • the insole can also increase the life of the shoe, by absorbing the moisture generated by the foot which contains chemical compounds harmful in the long run to the material of the shoe.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to find a way to develop an insole which would combat the above-mentioned deficiencies.
  • the essential point of the present invention is to provide an insole allowing people whose feet have a shape which the manufacturers of conventional shoes do not take into account, to buy conventional shoes without having to modify them, by inserting said insole so as to obtain an excellent adaptation.
  • Another object of the insole of the invention is to allow the separate adjustment of the cutout and the thickness of the arch support of the insole for perfect adaptation of a shoe to a foot.
  • Another object of the invention is to allow better lateral stability of the foot supported in a shoe by said insole.
  • An object of the invention is to prevent the formation of what is called a "flat foot”.
  • Another object of the invention is that the manufacture of the insole is easy and inexpensive.
  • Another object of the invention is to increase in general the comfort of a foot of normal shape in a shoe.
  • Another object of the invention is to ensure a correct position of the foot placed on the insole in the shoe, thus promoting correct orthopedics and weight distribution and preventing an excessive slowing of the blood circulation or stretching of the ligaments of the foot.
  • the insole 10 comprises a main upper layer 12, preferably made of leather.
  • Layer 12 has the general shape of the sole of the foot.
  • the layer 12 comprises an intermediate main part 14, of essentially rectangular shape, but widened towards the front and comprising a concave inner edge 16 curved internally according to an arc of a circle of radius substantially equal to the length of the insole 10; a rear part, heel, 18, also of essentially rectangular shape, except as regards its rounded rear end edge, 20; and a front part, toes, 22, forming an extreme front edge of fairly pointed shape, 24, and convex side walls, 26.
  • outwardly rounded flaps 28 are added to the side walls 26.
  • the thickness of the outer edge of each flap 28 gradually decreases outward, forming a thinner outer edge 28A.
  • the front part, 22, comprises a circular central part, called the onion 30, exactly coinciding with the metartasian eminence resting on the insole 10 and the adjacent main part 14.
  • the circular part, called the onion, 30, coincides tangentially with the front edge of the main part 14.
  • the leather of the piece 12 has incision lines, 32, which allow parts of the insole 10 to be cut, to adjust the thickness of the selected locations of this insole to a given shoe and foot.
  • These incision lines 32 located: a) around the so-called onion part; b) between the rear part 18 and the main part 14; c) between the front part 22 and the main part 14; d) between each flap 28 and the front part 22; and e) between the main part 14 and the arch support 34.
  • An incision line 32 coincides with the rounded edge 16.
  • the part 34 is on the same plane as the main part 14, and forms a convex outer edge 36 .
  • the parts 18, 22, 28 and 34 when they have been removed, cannot be readjusted to the other parts of the upper layer 12; but of course, the part 30 can be repositioned after its temporary withdrawal from the part 22 (due to the possibility of the presence onion, followed by appropriate subsequent medical treatment).
  • a main part 38 preferably of cork, is glued so as to remain removable, under the upper layer 12.
  • the glue used for this purpose is a pressure-sensitive adhesive, preferably a plasticized glue based on silicones called “glue applied to warm ", which will allow the two layers to be peeled off and re-bonded repeatedly.
  • This glue is sold under the registered trademark "HELMITHERME” by the company Helmitin Inc.
  • the cork layer 38 exactly follows the contour of the parts 18 and 22 of the upper layer and in general that of the part 14, except with regard to its internal edge 40.
  • the internal edge 40 does not exactly coincide with the incision line 32 of the upper layer along the edge 16.
  • the cavity formed by the edge 40 is of a width, on the internal part, of two thirds of the width of the main part 14.
  • the edge 40 differs in that it draws a very curved front part 40A and a rear part 40B directed rectilinearly towards the outside.
  • a piece 42 preferably made of cork, is glued so as to remain removable from the front part of the underside of the piece 38.
  • the piece 42 has dimensions identical to those of the upper layer 22 and exactly coincides with the latter for form a third layer of the insole.
  • Another part 44 is fixed by hot applied glue to the lower face of the upper part 34 in the cavity formed by the edge 40 and its outline exactly follows the outer edge 36 of the upper layer.
  • the layer 44 is on the same plane as the lower part 38.
  • a piece 46 is glued so as to remain removable on the underside of the piece 44, a piece 48 on the underside of the piece 46 and a piece 50 on the underside of the piece 48, superimposed, while this with hot applied glue.
  • the parts 44 to 50 are also made of cork and of similar shape but of progressively decreasing dimensions, the part 44 being the largest and the part 50 being the smallest.
  • the part 46 is on the same plane as the third part before 42.
  • the parts 48 and 50 form the last fourth and fifth layers.
  • the part 42 can be removed, giving more room for the toes, and / or, all, several or each of the four parts 44-50 can be removed, to make the arch support more comfortable.
  • This stripping of parts 42-50 allows better adjustment and therefore better comfort for the user, in that it offers a profiled upper surface.
  • the upper part 34 is adapted to act jointly with the parts 44 to 50.
  • the side flaps 28 provide lateral adjustment of the position of the foot in the shoe, but can be removed along their incision line 32 if such an adjustment is useless.
  • the flaps 28 are directed upwards against the side walls of the shoe.
  • cork is preferably used, it is certain that it can be replaced by any material as firm but elastic.
  • All layers should preferably have the same thickness.
