Abstract

Ein Doppelbehältersystem zum Transport und zur Lagerung von radioaktiven Abfällen besteht aus einem inneren La­ gerbehälter aus Stahl für den gasdichten Einschluß des zu lagernden radioaktiven Materials und einem äußeren Abschirmbehälter, der die erforderliche Abschirmung und mechanische Sicherheit bei Handhabung und Transport sicherstellt. Im Ringspalt zwischen äußerem Abschirmbe­ hälter und innerem Lagerbehälter ist eine Neutronenmo­ deratorschicht aus wasserstoffhaltigem Material, vor­ zugsweise Polyäthylen, vorhanden. Um eine gute Abschir­ mung bei gleichzeitig sehr guter Wärmeleitung von innen nach außen zu erreichen, besteht die Moderatorschicht (41) aus einzelnen übereinandergestapelten Ringen (43) aus Polyäthylen. Zwischen zwei Polyäthylenringen (43) ist jeweils ein H-Profilring (45) aus einem wär­ meleitenden metallischen Werkstoff angeordnet. Die Schenkel (49) des H-Profilringes (45) umfassen die Sei­ ten der beiden Polyäthylenringe (43) zur Fixierung.
