Claims (17)

1. A roping-down device (1) comprising a slide portion (10) which co-operates with a rope and which has a guide passage (2) through which the rope (13) can be passed and the slide portion has a carrier device (3) for a belt or the like, wherein the slide portion has a guide passage (2) extending in a substantially U-shaped configuration for receiving the rope and the point of engagemnt for the carrier device (3) which is disposed in the region of the axis of symmetry of the U-shaped guide passage is arranged in a region which is in opposite relationship to the rope exit openings, characterised in that the carrier device (3) co-operates with a movable pressure portion (4), wherein the pressure portion (4) engages into an opening (5) extending transversely with respect to the guide passage (2), and presses against the rope (3) in the condition of being loaded as specified.

A roping-down device according to claim 1 characterised in that the cross-section of the opening (5) permits a movement of the pressure portion (4) in such a way that in the one limit position the pressure portion (4) engages into the internal cross-section of the guide passage and in the other limit position the entire cross-section is clear.
3. A roping-down device according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that the housing (10) is formed from shell halves (17) which form the guide passage.
4. A roping-down device according to claim 1 or claim 2 characterised in that the guide passage is formed from a bent tube.
5. A roping-down device according to claim 4 characterised in that the free ends (11, 12) of the tube are connected together by a leg portion or the like.
6. A roping-down device according to one or more of claims 1 to 5 characterised in that the dimensions a and b range in the ratio a = or < 0.5 x b.
7. A roping-down device according to one or more of claim 1 to 6 characterised in that the rope (13) co-operates with the leg portion (14, 140) in such a way that the leg portion (140) or a part thereof can perform a relative movement with respect to the slide portion (10) and that relative movement between the leg portion and the slide portion actuates a braking device.
8. A roping-down device according to claim 7 characterised in that the leg portion (140) is provided with a guide means which is guided in the slide portion (100), and is subjected to the force of a spring (153).
9. A roping-down device according to claim 8 characterised in that a lever (147) is disposed on the slide portion (100) between the guide passage which is of a U-shaped configuration and said lever is mounted rotatably about a mounting pin rigidly connected to the slide portion and said lever extends with its one end into the guide passage adjacent to a rope exit opening (149) and the other end is operatively connected to the movable leg portion (140) in such a way that upon a movement of the leg portion (140) towards the slide portion the end which extends into the guide passage is pivoted out of the guide passage.
10. A roping-down device according to claim 9 characterised in that the pivotal movement is provided by a pin connected to the leg portion (140) or to the guide means connected thereto, and a sliding guide or the like which is provided in the lever.
11. A roping-down device according to claim 10 characterised in that the end of the lever which extends into the guide passage is provided with a brake block (148) and that brake block has profiling which enhances the gripping capability thereof.
12. A roping-down device according to claim 11 characterised in that the lever is arranged at an acute angle towards the end towards the rope exit opening.
13. A roping-down device according to claim 12 characterised in that there are provided two profiles of levers which are arranged in the same manner but in mirror-image relationship, wherein each lever engages into the guide passage in opposite relationship.
14. A roping-down device according to claim 13 characterised in that both levers are arranged on a common mounting pin.
15. A roping-down device according to claim 14 characterised in that the sliding guides are actuated by a single pin (144).
16. A roping-down device according to claim 15 characterised in that the pin (154) is thinner than the width of the slot (154).
17. A roping-down device according to claim 16 characterised in that the pin (144) bears against a contact surface (155).
