Definitions
- the invention relates to a cotton fleece as upholstery, filling fleece or the like, in particular for seating and mattresses, with a cover on both sides made of a textile fabric, in particular fleece, fabric or knitted fabric, which is connected line by line to the cotton layer.
- the two covers are sewn to the cotton layer continuously in such cotton fleece.
- the stitch spacing of the sewing threads is relatively large.
- the tension of the sewing threads must not be too high, so that the cushioning effect is retained in the area of the sewing seam. Nevertheless, the seams crack slightly when processing the cotton fleece, especially when cutting, so that the cohesion of covers and cotton layer is no longer guaranteed.
- the object of the invention is to improve a cotton fleece of the type described above in such a way that sufficient cohesion of covers and cotton layer is ensured even during processing and that the cushioning effect is retained at all points.
- each cover side is needled with the cotton layer and in that the needles on both cover sides are offset from one another in a pipe arrangement.
- this cotton fleece only one cover side is needled along a line with the cotton layer, alternately one or the other cover side being needled.
- the needling of each cover side can penetrate the cotton layer completely, so that local dissolution of the cotton layer is not to be feared.
- the distance between adjacent needling lines on each cover side can be approximately 20 cm.
- the width of each needling line can be 1 to 2 cm.
- the cotton fleece shown consists of a cotton layer 1, which is covered on both sides with nonwoven webs 2 and 3. Each nonwoven web 2 or 3 is needled with the cotton layer 1.
- the needling areas 4 are shown hatched. The needling 4 takes place line by line and in a pipe arrangement in such a way that the cotton layer 1 is needled only with one nonwoven web 2 or 3. Accordingly, the nonwoven web 2 extends between two assigned needling areas 4 over a further needling area 4, on which the cotton layer 1 is needled with the nonwoven web 3.
- the needles on each cover side penetrate the cotton layer 1 completely.
- the distance between adjacent needling areas or lines on each cover side can be approximately 20 cm.
- the width of each needling area 4 can be 1 to 2 cm.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cotton fleece as upholstery, filling fleece or the like, in particular for seating and mattresses, with a cover on both sides made of a textile fabric, in particular fleece, fabric or knitted fabric, which is connected line by line to the cotton layer.
Usually, the two covers are sewn to the cotton layer continuously in such cotton fleece. The stitch spacing of the sewing threads is relatively large. The tension of the sewing threads must not be too high, so that the cushioning effect is retained in the area of the sewing seam. Nevertheless, the seams crack slightly when processing the cotton fleece, especially when cutting, so that the cohesion of covers and cotton layer is no longer guaranteed.
The object of the invention is to improve a cotton fleece of the type described above in such a way that sufficient cohesion of covers and cotton layer is ensured even during processing and that the cushioning effect is retained at all points.
This object is achieved in that each cover side is needled with the cotton layer and in that the needles on both cover sides are offset from one another in a pipe arrangement. In other words, in this cotton fleece only one cover side is needled along a line with the cotton layer, alternately one or the other cover side being needled. The needling of each cover side can penetrate the cotton layer completely, so that local dissolution of the cotton layer is not to be feared. The distance between adjacent needling lines on each cover side can be approximately 20 cm. The width of each needling line can be 1 to 2 cm.
In the following an embodiment of the invention shown in the drawing is explained; the only figure shows a section through a cotton fleece.
The cotton fleece shown consists of a
The needles on each cover side penetrate the
