Dinkelspelzen oder andere Kornspelzen, Reis­körner oder andere Getreidekörner eignen sich als Kammer­füllung, da sie einerseits organische, durch ihre Kapillar­wirkung hygroskopische Materialien sind, die das angestrebte Schlafklima vermitteln, und anderseits durch ihre Riesel­freudigkeit und ihre Fassung in Kammern den gesuchten Elastizitätseffekt entstehen lassen. Die rieselfreudige Füllung der Kammern weicht bei Gewichtsbelastung aus und schmiegt sich der Körperform an, ein Entlasten bringt sie aber wieder in die ursprüngliche Lage zurück, so daß be­queme Liegeeigenschaften erzielt werden und es keine Gefahr einer Kuhlenbilding od.dgl. gibt.
