Description

The present invention relates to an automatic ventilation window for a building, comprising a movable frame on a fixed frame, three parallel windows mounted in this frame, a first gap between the intermediate window and the interior window, a baffle ventilation circuit formed. by at least one inlet duct arranged at the bottom of the window to connect the outside air to the first gap, by at least one intermediate duct formed in the upper part of the movable frame to connect the first gap to the second, and by at least an outlet duct arranged at the bottom of the window for connecting the second gap to the interior air of the building, at least one adjustment and obturation shutter disposed in this circuit, and means for controlling this shutter, provided with a control member on the inside of the window.

Already known from French Patent No. 2,437,484 a window of this kind, in which the inlet and outlet conduits are formed in the movable frame of the window. This chassis is fitted with valves arranged to limit or stop the circulation of air between the panes, as well as with manual control members for these valves. This window allows ventilation of the room in which it is mounted, while providing excellent sound insulation. However, it has various drawbacks from the point of view of its construction and use. In particular, the lower part of the frame, containing the valves and the control members, is relatively bulky, which reduces the free surface area of the panes. In addition, the weight of the mobile chassis is higher than that of a traditional chassis. On the other hand, it is very difficult to satisfactorily solve the sealing problems at the bottom of the outer pane, so that the operation of the valves or good durability of the window is not ensured if one does not not perform regular maintenance. Furthermore, with its relatively heavy and voluminous chassis, this device is awkward on a window of the sash type.

We also know the French patent published under the number 2,530,721 which describes a window unit with two glass surfaces, equipped with a slat blind mounted between the two glass surfaces. This window unit has openings made at the bottom and at the top of the interior and exterior frames and provided with valves allowing them to be closed independently.

This type of known window which does not have three glazed surfaces parallel to each other, does not produce two ventilation corridors defined respectively by the outer pane and the central pane on the one hand, and by the central pane and the inner pane of somewhere else. Therefore the air circulation does not take place in two opposite circuits inside the window, so that we have with this window, all the negative effects from a thermal point of view of pivoting windows with horizontal axis, or classic double windows.

Therefore, the present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks, by providing a window with an air circuit which allows ventilation when the window is closed, while ensuring effective protection against noise. It is simple and robust, requires little maintenance, and has a relatively light chassis, made with traditional materials.

For this purpose, the window according to the present invention is characterized in that the inlet duct is provided at the bottom of the window in the fixed frame, in that the outlet duct is provided at the bottom of the window in the fixed frame and / or in the movable frame, and in that at least the inlet duct provided with an inlet opening located outside is equipped with said adjustment and shutter, mounted on the fixed frame as well as its control means arranged inside.

According to a preferred embodiment, the flap is pivotable about a horizontal axis on at least one support integral with the fixed frame, and the pivot axis of the flap is located higher than the opening to be closed, the flap being arranged in such a way with respect to its pivot axis that it tends to close by its own weight.

Said shutter control means advantageously comprise a pull tab comprising a rod arranged to slide in the fixed frame, a handle fixed to the end of this pull tab on the inside of the window, the external end of the rod being in contact with the flap, and a detent snap mechanism for locking the zipper in at least two determined axial positions.

The second end of the rod and the flap preferably comprise coupling means for driving the flap by the pull tab in one set and in the other.

The rod is preferably connected to the handle by spring means.

According to an advantageous embodiment, an electric fan can be connected to the ventilation circuit.

This fan can be mounted in the fixed window frame.

It can be arranged in parallel with said inlet opening, connected on the one hand to an external opening equipped with a movable shutter member and, on the other hand, to the inlet duct, the fixed frame of the window being equipped with means for controlling this fan and the shutter member.

According to an alternative embodiment, the fan can be part of an air conditioning unit.

The ventilation circuit can advantageously include a removable filter placed in the fixed frame.

The three panes preferably have the same dimensions.

According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the movable frame comprises three elements which are articulated with respect to each other, each of these elements serving as a frame for one of the panes.

  • Figure 6 is a schematic vertical sectional view of another embodiment.

The window shown in fig. 1 comprises a fixed frame 1 comprising metal profiles 2 to 9 and sealing profiles 11, 12 and 13 made of synthetic material or rubber, and a movable frame 14 mounted on the fixed frame in an articulated manner, for example by hinges (not shown), so that you can pivot to open the window. The movable frame 14 in fact comprises three frame elements 15, 16 and 17 which respectively surround and support three parallel panes, namely an outer pane 18, an intermediate pane 19 and an inner pane 20. The frame elements 15, 16 and 17 are fixed together along the sides of the window in a manner known per se, for example by means of hinges along one of the sides, and screws along the other to allow them to be separated for the purpose of cleaning the inside of the window. Between the panes, a first interval 21 situated between the outer pane 18 and the intermediate pane 19 is defined, and a second gap 22 located between the intermediate pane 19 and the inner pane 20.

Likewise, one or more slots 24 are formed between the chassis elements 16 and 17, above the second interval 22. The respective slots 23 and 24 are in communication, inside the movable frame 14, by an intermediate conduit 25 situated above the intermediate window 19 and its frame element 16. As a variant, the conduit intermediate 25 could also be constituted by slots passing through the upper part of the chassis element 16. Thanks to the intermediate duct 25, the air contained in the first interval 21 is in communication with the air which is in the second interval 22.

Similarly, the lower part of the movable chassis 14 has one or more slots 26 formed between the chassis elements 15 and 16 below the first gap 21 and one or more slots 27 formed between the chassis elements 16 and 17 below the second interval 22. When the window is closed, as shown in fig. 1, the slots 26 and 27 are not in communication below the intermediate window 19, because they are separated by the intermediate frame element 16 pressing against a sealing profile 12 of the fixed frame.

Preferably, the slots 23, 24, 26 and 27 are continuous over the entire width of the window. However, they can be split by providing several consecutive slots, separated by spacers which provide support for the intermediate chassis element 16 against the chassis elements 15 and 17 to increase the rigidity of the movable chassis.

According to the invention, the fixed frame 1 comprises, on its outer face, an inlet opening 30 which is connected to the first gap 21 by an inlet duct 31 extending both in the fixed frame and, by the slot 26 in the movable chassis. In the example shown, the inlet duct 31 passes through a horizontal opening 32 of the fixed frame, in which is disposed a removable filter 33 shown schematically in broken lines and intended to stop dust, insects, etc.

The openings 30 and 32 preferably extend over the greatest part of the width of the window, but they can also consist of several juxtaposed openings.

Similarly, the lower part of the fixed frame 1 has, on the inside of the window, an outlet opening 34, a horizontal opening 35 and an outlet conduit 36 which connects the second gap 22 to the outlet opening 34 in passing through the slot 27. Thus, there is an air circuit going from the inlet opening 30 to the outlet opening 34 through the inlet duct 31, the first interval 21, the intermediate duct 25 , the second interval 22 and the outlet duct 36, a circuit that air can travel as indicated by the arrows in FIG. 1, or in the opposite direction in some cases. This circuit includes a large number of baffles, in particular by the fact that the air introduced into the lower part of the window is diverted up to the upper part, then must go down again, which ensures a very strong attenuation of the external noises transmitted by the air towards the interior of the building.

To partially or completely close the inlet opening 30, in order to allow the air circulation to be regulated or interrupted, a shutter 40 is mounted on the outer face of the fixed frame of the window. This flap 40 is constituted by a metal or plastic profile which extends over the greater part of the width of the window. Its rear face has a flat portion arranged to completely cover the inlet opening or openings 30 extending along the window. Along its upper edge, the flap 40 comprises a cylindrical bead 41 which defines a horizontal pivot axis. This bead is introduced into a cylindrical groove of one or more supports 42 fixed to the window frame. On the other hand, the lower part 43 of the flap 40 has an enlarged shape, so that the center of gravity of the flap is offset towards the outside with respect to the pivot center, so that the flap 40 tends to close by its own weight.

To control the position of the flap 40, the window according to the invention simply comprises a pull tab 44 which is mounted in the lower part of the fixed frame 1. In the example illustrated in FIG. 1, the pull tab 44 comprises a support 45, a sliding bush 46 provided with a button-shaped handle 47 on the inside of the window, and a sliding rod 48 whose outer end bears against the flap 40. L 'other end of the rod 48 has a head 49 which is clamped in the sleeve 46 between two springs 50 and 51 by means of an adjustment screw 52, in order to attenuate the transmission to the pull tab 44 of the shocks which can be produced by the flap 40 on the rod 48.

Ainsi, chaque rainure 57 correspond à une position déterminée de la tirette 44 et du volet 40.The pull tab 44 further comprises a detent snap mechanism allowing the pull pull to be locked in several determined axial positions, corresponding to several positions of the flap 40. This mechanism is illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 2. The support 45 of the pull tab comprises, in a lateral bore, a device called "ball screw" constituted in a known manner by a ball 54, a helical spring 55 and a screw 56 ensuring a pressure of the spring against the ball . The sleeve 46, arranged to slide axially in the support 45, has on its periphery a series of circular grooves 57 in which the ball 54 can engage to lock the axial position of the sleeve 46. Thus, each groove 57 corresponds to a determined position of the pull tab 44 and of the flap 40.

1, the zipper 44 is shown in the closed position of the flap 40. When the zipper is moved by bringing the button 47 to the position 47a drawn in broken lines, the end of the rod 48 pushes the flap 40 to a open position 40a drawn in broken lines, then it maintains it in this position under the effect of the ball screw engaged in the corresponding groove 57. The air circuit passing through the window is then opened and ventilation occurs according to the conditions prevailing outside and inside the building. Most of the time, the air is warmer inside the building and the latter has ventilation ducts which promote draft, so that air tends to enter through the window according to the invention and to move as indicated by the arrows in fig. 1. To a certain extent, the user can adjust the air flow by means of the flap 40 by acting on the pull tab 44.

1).In the embodiment described above, the flap is simply in abutment against the end of the rod 48 of the pull tab or against the external face of the frame, so that it can be lifted in certain cases, for example by a violent gust of wind. Such movement can cause unpleasant noises or drafts in the building. Fig. 3 illustrates an arrangement making it possible to remedy this drawback by milling, in the rear part of the flap 40, a groove 60 oriented perpendicular to the pivot axis of the flap and having a substantially cylindrical section, narrower at the surface of the flap than in depth. At its lower end, the groove 60 has an insertion orifice 61 whose diameter is equal to that of the cylinder inscribed in the groove 60. The rod 48 used in this case is provided, at its end, with a spherical button 62 which is introduced through the introduction orifice 61 and which remains. then trapped in the rest of the groove 60, so that the flap 40 can not rotate either in one direction or the other. The orifice 61 is placed low enough that it is never reached by the spherical button 62, except the rod 48 is pulled outwards by strongly compressing the spring 51 (fig. 1).

Compared to the prior art mentioned above, the window shown in FIG. 1 has notable advantages. The dimensions and the weight of the movable frame 14 are similar to those of a triple-pane window without a ventilation circuit. In addition, its sealing device is also the same as that of usual windows, so it does not present any particular problem. Finally, the chassis elements can be produced with the usual metal profiles, in which it is not necessary to arrange transverse conduits or to house mechanisms.

Another important advantage of the present invention is the fact of allowing easy connection of an electric fan to the ventilation circuit, since the latter necessarily passes through fixed parts of the window. For example, this fan can be placed in the building and be connected to the outlet duct 36 either by the outlet opening 34, or by another opening arranged near a corner of the window. Such a fan can, for example, be an element of an air conditioning unit.

This figure shows schematically in horizontal section the inlet duct 31 of the air circuit, the inlet opening 30 being closed by the flap 40. The fan 64 is mounted in a separate compartment, near an angle of the window, and it is actuated by an electric motor 65 which is also housed inside the frame 1. On the suction side, the fan 64 is connected to a suction opening 66 formed on the outside of the frame 1 and equipped with a shutter 67 which can be of similar construction to that of the shutter 40. The fan 64 comprises a discharge tube 68 which is directly connected to the inlet duct 31. Finally, a pull tab 69 with two positions is connected to the shutter 67, as well as to a lever 70 controlling the operation of the motor 65, so as to simultaneously actuate the opening of the shutter 67 and the starting of the fan 64.

The device shown in fig. 4 can operate without the help of the fan, as described upper. It suffices to open the flap 40. If one wishes to produce forced ventilation, the flap 40 is closed by means of the pull tab 44 and the flap 67 is opened by means of the pull tab 69, which causes the start-up of the fan 64. The latter sucks in the outside air through the orifice 66 and it discharges it towards the inside of the building by the air circuit passing through the window. As this cricuit is relatively long and has several baffles, the noise produced by the fan is muffled. Figs. 5 and 6 illustrate two other embodiments of a window according to the invention, in which the fixed frame and the movable frame are made of wood.

The window illustrated in fig. 5 comprises a fixed frame 71 and a movable frame 72 which carries the three panes 18, 19 and 20 arranged as before. The frame 72 is made of two elements 73 and 74 which are hinged to one another in the traditional way using hinges. The intermediate window 19 is mounted between the two frame elements 73 and 74 using an auxiliary frame 75.

In principle, the ventilation circuit passing through this window is identical to that of the window in FIG. 1. It comprises in particular an inlet conduit 76 and an outlet conduit 77 which pass through both the fixed frame and the movable frame in the lower part of the window. The inlet duct 76 is provided with a removable filter 78 and an adjustment and shutter 80 controlled by a pull tab 81. In the upper part of the frame 72, an intermediate duct 82 connects the two intervals 21 and 22 located between the panes.

The conduits 76, 77 and 82 have simple shapes and can be easily made by milling rectangular longitudinal slots in the wood. Depending on the width of the frame, these slots may be continuous or be in the form of a succession of several slots, between which remain spacers providing sufficient rigidity to the window. It should be noted that the illustration construction here is extremely simple. In addition, it allows the use of three panes having the same dimensions, which is particularly advantageous from the point of view of stock at the manufacturer.

The examples described with reference to figs. 1 to 5 also illustrate another important advantage of the present invention. Thanks to the vertical arrangement of the inlet and outlet conduits in the lower part of the mobile chassis and thanks to the absence of control members in this chassis, these constructions lend themselves perfectly to the realization of a circuit of ventilation in a sash type window, that is to say one whose frame is movable vertically relative to the frame. Of course, this ventilation device can also be used for a window whose frame slides in the horizontal direction.

The window shown in fig. 6 comprises a fixed frame 91 and a movable frame 92 which are produced very similar to the corresponding elements of the window in FIG. 5. The upper part of these two windows is identical. On the other hand, in the case of FIG. 6, the window comprises an outlet conduit 93 which extends only in the movable frame 92, while the inlet conduit 76 is identical to that which has been described with reference to FIG. 5. In certain cases, this arrangement makes it possible to reduce the height of the lower part of the window by taking advantage of the fact that the greater thickness of the movable frame 92 is always located on the interior side of the window, while the greater thickness of the frame 91 is on the outside.

The present invention is not limited to the embodiments described, but it extends to any modification or variant obvious to those skilled in the art. In particular, the shape and arrangement of the adjustment and shutter flaps, as well as their control members, can be the subject of multiple variants. These shutters are not necessarily placed on the outside of the window; they can also be arranged on the other face or in one of the inlet or outlet conduits, inside the fixed frame.
