Abstract

A lock for a door or window is actuated by a toothed rack (24) which engages the teeth of a pinion (22). The pinion (22) is mounted in a housing (16) which is fastened to the frame of the door or window and the pinion is rotated by a handle. The housing (16) forms a guide for the toothed rack which is connected at its upper and lower ends to the lock actuating rods. The pinion teeth project through a slot with a rebated edge in the side of the housing (16) in order to engage the toothed rack (24).

Description

The invention relates to a window and door fitting with incorrect operation protection of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.

Fittings of this type usually have a push rod which can be moved over three or all four frame legs and which is provided with rolling pins, tabs and bolts which interact with corresponding locking wedges, bolts and bearings on the frame and / or on a stay scissors. Depending on the sliding position of the push rod, the wing can be brought into different positions with respect to the frame, for example in a rotating position, a tilting position and in a closed position. The push rod is actuated via a gear arranged on the wing profile, which has a gear wheel that can be rotated by means of a handle and a rack that meshes with the gear wheel and can be coupled to the push rod. In order to avoid incorrect operation, an incorrect operation safeguard is usually provided in the case of linkage of this type, which blocks the displacement path of the push rod in the open positions of the wing.

In a known fitting of this type (DE-U-69 35 673), the gear is in a housing which is placed on the visible surface of the window sash. The coupling of the gearbox with the push rod takes place via a driver tongue which extends through an elongated hole in the rear gearbox cover and the relevant sash frame surface and is inserted into a corresponding dovetail guide on a driver plate of the push rod arranged in the push rod channel. In order to be able to accommodate the necessary gear components, the housing has relatively large dimensions both in its cross-sectional area and in its height. It means that the casement must have a certain minimum width of about 60 - 70 mm, which is perceived as a disadvantage, especially in the case of small windows and flush-fitting profiles. In addition, the housing is visible from the room side as a decorative part and therefore has to be processed accordingly, for example, ground, polished and anodized. Special handles are also required, which must be connected directly to the gearbox. The commercially available handle olives, which are inexpensively manufactured in large quantities for wooden and plastic windows, cannot be used with the known handle mechanism. The misuse protection was previously made as a device independent of the gearbox and mounted on the casement. For the assembly of the known gear, a slot opening for the driver tongue must be punched on the visible side of the wing profile. Special punching tools are required for this. The known transmission and the associated misuse protection is thus relatively complex and expensive both in manufacture and in assembly.

The invention is therefore based on the object to improve the known fitting that the transmission with misuse protection in all its essential parts easier and cheaper to manufacture and concealed in wing profiles with relatively small dimensions and chamber dimensions.

To achieve this object, the combination of features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1 is proposed. Further advantageous refinements and developments of the invention result from the subclaims.

The solution according to the invention is based on the idea that the gear wheel with its laterally protruding bearing pins is mounted in the bearing eyes of two spaced-apart bearing shells, and that the bearing shells additionally carry a flange containing a guide for the toothed rack, which, with the formation of the misuse protection device, has a cavity open to the rear of the toothed rack and to a longitudinal narrow side perpendicular thereto for receiving an under the unilateral action of a spring force axially parallel to the gear between two end positions slider. The bearing shells can be inserted with the gear wheel through a rebate-side opening in the bottom of the push rod channel into a hollow chamber of the wing profile so that the flange containing the misuse protection stops against the outer edge of the push rod channel and the bearing shells and the gear wheel through holes in the visible surface of the wing profile can be connected to a handle olive which can be flanged from the outside and has the handle. The slide which can be actuated by a release piece on the frame has at least one stop body which, in one end position of the slide, engages in the longitudinal displacement path of a stop pin projecting into the cavity from the rack.

The gear according to the invention can be used from the fold by a corresponding milling in the wing profile so that it is arranged behind the visible surface, ie invisible from the outside, in the profile. It is attached to the wing profile with screws. The counterpart is a commercially available handle olive or rosette, which is fastened to the casement from the inside of the room by means of screws that engage in the threaded opening of the gearbox. The protection against incorrect operation is integrated in the gearbox flange. It is located in the chamber area between Frame and casement. The gearbox according to the invention enables a narrow construction in the case of aluminum profiles down to a profile width of approximately 45 mm, the incorrect operation protection being accommodated in the frame profile in a space-saving manner.

According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the two bearing shells are connected in one piece to complementary parts of the flange containing the misuse protection and the rack guide. For this purpose, the bearing shells have two tapered pins which can be plugged into one another and wedged against one another. The outer taper pins are arranged on the inner bearing shell arranged in the wing profile on the room side, while the inner taper pins have the threaded bore for screwing on the handle olive. The bearing shells with the integrally formed flange, the toothed rack, the slide and the gearwheel are advantageously produced together using a single tool using the zinc die-casting process.

According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the slide has two stop cams which are arranged at a distance from one another and surfaces which are arranged at a distance from the cams, by means of which a total of three blocking regions are formed for a stop pin projecting from the rear of the rack and engaging in the cavity of the flange.

In order to be able to drive two toothed racks in opposite directions, according to a further embodiment of the invention, the first toothed rack can only be connected to a push rod at one end, while another, in a toothed rack guide, on the narrow side of the bearing shells opposite the flange and engaging in the hollow chamber of the wing profile guided rack meshing with the gear is arranged displaceably, which can be connected to a further push rod at its end which preferably engages in the push rod channel. This enables a drive bolt lock to be used, for example, for French windows or folding walls.

The window and door fitting shown in detail in FIG. 1 has push rods 10 which are arranged in a rabbet-side push rod channel 12 of the casement 14 with the aid of a gear 16 so as to be longitudinally displaceable. The gear 16 essentially consists of two spaced-apart bearing shells 18, 20 between which a gear wheel 22 is rotatably arranged with the aid of a handle (FIG. 2). The gear wheel 22 meshes with a rack which can be connected to the push rods 10 24, which is guided in a guide channel 28 which is delimited towards the outside by a flange 26. The flange 26 also contains a cavity 30 which is open to the rear of the rack 24 and to a longitudinal narrow side perpendicular thereto, in which a slide 32 of a misuse protection device 34 is arranged so as to be axially displaceable between two end positions against the force of two springs 36 between two end positions (FIG. 2, 4.5). The slide is moved into the release position by a release piece 40 arranged on the frame 38 with the leaf 14 closed, while it comes into its blocking position under the action of the springs 36 when the leaf 14 is open. The structure and mode of operation of the misuse protection is explained in more detail below.

The gearbox 16 engages with its bearing shells 18, 20 through a cutout 42 in the bottom of the push rod channel 12 into a hollow chamber 44 of the casement 14 and strikes with its flange against the rebate-side outer edge 46 of the push rod channel 12 (FIG. 1.6). The bearing shells 18, 20 contain two threaded openings 48 spaced apart from one another and bearing eyes 50 arranged centrally between these openings for receiving bearing journals 54 projecting on the gear wheel 22 on the broad side and provided with a through square opening 52. The transmission is fastened to the sash frame with the aid of a from the room-side visible surface of the sash 14 to be screwed, not shown in the drawing commercially available handle olive, which has a handle engaging with a square bolt in the square opening 52. For this purpose, three holes must be drilled at the appropriate point on the visible surface, through which the two screws and the square bolt extend and which are covered by a cover plate of the handle olive in the assembled state.

The two bearing shells 18, 20 are connected in one piece to complementary parts 56, 58 of the flange 26 containing the misuse protection 34 and the rack guide 28. They are manufactured in the zinc die casting process together with the rack 24, the slide 32 and the gear 22 with a single die casting tool. This means that all parts of the gearbox can be cast in one process step (with each shot). Tool costs are also reduced.

During assembly, the two springs 36 and the slide 32 of the incorrect operation protection 34, the push rod 24 and the gear 22 are first inserted into the outer shell 18. The inner shell 20 is then slipped onto this. The connection is made by wedging two tapered pins 60, 62 which are concentric with one another, the inner pin 60 of which each has the threaded bore 48 for attachment to the sash frame.

The outer wall of the flange 34 opposite the bearing shells 18, 20 has a recess 64 which is open at the edge and into which the release piece 40 engages from the side when the slide 32 is unlocked. The slider 32 is provided with two stop cams 66 arranged at a distance from one another and two further stop edges 68 arranged at a distance from the cams, through which a total of three blocking areas 70 ', 70' ', 70 ‴ are defined. A stop pin 72 also protrudes from the rear of the toothed rack, which engages in the cavity 30 of the flange 26 and interacts with the stop cams 66 and edges 68 of the slide 32 as follows:

When the wing 14 is closed, the slide 32 is pushed into the cavity 30 by the trigger piece 40 on the frame 40 against the force of the two springs 36 Flange shifted. In this position, the stop cams 66 of the slide 32 are located outside the displacement range of the stop pin 72 on the rack 24, so that the rack 24 can be moved freely by actuating the handle between the upper and lower stop edges 68 of the slide 32. The fitting reaches various switching positions, starting from the closed position located near the upper stop edge 68, via the central rotational position to the lower tilt position. The handle, not shown, is rotated in the olive from its downward-facing closed position via the horizontally oriented rotational position to the upward-facing tilted position. A handle is expediently used, which engages in the three switching positions mentioned on the olive. If the wing 14 is now opened in the rotational position or the tilted position, the slide 32 with its stop cams 66 comes under the action of the springs 36 into the displacement path of the rack pin 72, so that it can no longer be moved into the other two switching positions and one Incorrect operation, which could lead to the wing being accidentally detached, is impossible.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in FIG. 7, a further toothed rack (124) is arranged on the side of the transmission opposite the toothed rack (24), which is guided in a guide (126) formed on the bearing shells in the opposite direction to the toothed rack (24). The end of this rack, which can be coupled with a push rod, is led out of the hollow chamber of the wing profile and engages in the push rod channel. With this construction, a drive bolt lock can be realized, for example, for French windows or folding walls.
