Definitions

  • the invention relates to a multi-pole low-voltage circuit breaker with busbars for connecting contact arrangements of the circuit breaker with one or more circuits, the busbars for the input side and the busbars for the output side in one row and both rows parallel to one another and at right angles to the rear and to the side walls of the circuit breaker are arranged.
  • a circuit breaker of this type has become known, for example, from EP-A-0 071 385.
  • each terminal point is located on a conductor piece that extends horizontally to the rear with respect to the normal position of use of the circuit breaker.
  • Stiffening elements made of insulating material ensure that the conductor rails cannot be deformed by forces due to the flowing currents.
  • Some of these stiffening elements can be attached to the side walls of the circuit breaker and have threaded openings for this.
  • Similar stiffening elements or support bodies have also become known in an embodiment in which in each case a uniform or divided support body is provided jointly for the busbars on the input side or the output side (US Pat. No. 4,277,664). These support bodies are attached to the rear of the circuit breaker.
  • circuit breakers are suitable, for example, for an extendable arrangement in which suitable transition pieces or parts of an isolating contact arrangement are attached to the conductor rails.
  • the circuit breaker is to be permanently installed in a switchgear, further connecting rails are required, which are located between the terminal points of the contact arrangement of the circuit breaker or the ends of the current rails supported by the supporting bodies towards stationary busbars, for example busbars. Because of the poor accessibility of the terminal points on the rear of the circuit breaker, such an assembly presents considerable difficulties. It would be cheaper if the necessary connections could be made from the front of the system with the circuit breaker already installed.
  • connection rails As such, it would be possible to avoid such harmful deformations by designing the connecting rails as an integral part of the circuit breaker and accordingly, with the exception of an open end provided for connection to a fixed current rail, which is completely fixed.
  • a circuit breaker would not remain suitable for use as a retractable circuit breaker.
  • embedding the connecting rails between insulating parts would undesirably hinder heat dissipation.
  • a dimensioning of the connection rails with a larger than the cross-section required from an electrical point of view would increase the strength in the desired manner, but at the same time would considerably increase the weight and the cost of the connection arrangement.
  • the invention has for its object to form a circuit breaker of the type mentioned in such a way that it both can be used as a slide-in switch as well as a switch to be permanently installed, the connection to further current conductors of a switchgear can be made from the front of the circuit breaker and the transition conductors located between the circuit breaker and the system-side current conductors are protected against the influence of forces, as they are especially caused by short-circuit currents.
  • Such a support body which can be produced, for example, in a known manner from a thermosetting plastic by injection molding, is distinguished both by high strength with little deformation and by favorable dielectric behavior.
  • the operations to be carried out for the attachment of support bodies are extremely simple because the threaded opening of the support body and a corresponding opening in the side wall are aligned by the stop surface, so that a fastening screw can be used.
  • the low-voltage circuit breaker 1 shown in FIG. 1 has contact arrangements 3 arranged parallel to one another on an insulating block 2, corresponding to the number of poles. These contact arrangements each consist of a fixed part 4 and a movable part 5, the interacting contact piece supports of which are designated 6 and 7. Furthermore, the fixed part 4 has an arcing horn 10 and the movable part 5 has an arcing horn 11.
  • the contact arrangement 3 of each pole is assigned an arcing quenching chamber 12 which is provided with quenching plates in a known manner.
  • a drive device, a switch lock and, if necessary, a motor drive are housed below and to the right of the contact arrangement 3 within the housing 19 of the circuit breaker 1. These parts are not shown in detail and correspond to a suitable design.
  • the contact arrangements 3 are equipped with upper clamping points 15 and lower clamping points 16 attached to the insulating block 2. Both clamping points are attached to the insulating block 2 and are located on conductor pieces 8 and 9, respectively, which extend in the horizontal direction on the rear side opposite an operating panel 13 of the circuit breaker 1.
  • clamping points 15 and 16 are angled Connection rails 17 and 18 connected, which extend upwards and downwards and are arranged at a distance from the rear of the circuit breaker 1.
  • the length of the connecting rails 17 and 18, as shown clearly in FIG. 1, is dimensioned such that the connecting bores 20 and 21 indicated near the ends of the connecting rails 17 and 18 are accessible from the front side of the circuit breaker 1.
  • upper stationary busbars 30 are connected to the connecting rails 17 and lower stationary busbars 31 are connected to the connecting rails 18.
  • the circuit breaker 1 is partially shown from the rear with a view of the upper connecting rails 17, the associated stationary busbars being omitted in order to show the fastening bores 20.
  • the same support bodies 22, schematically shown, associated with the connecting rails 17 and 18 are used, which are fastened to the side walls 26 and 29 of the circuit breaker 1. Details of these support bodies are explained with reference to FIGS. 3, 4 and 5.
  • the support body 35 according to FIGS. 3, 4 and 5 is designed as a molded part and takes the place of the support body 22 shown schematically in FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the support body 35 has an approximately H-shaped cross section, 36 through-openings 37 being provided for the connecting rails 17 and 18 between the H-legs.
  • the H-legs 36 are connected by transverse webs 40 between the passage openings 37, as shown in FIG. 3.
  • the support body 35 obtains a high bending stiffness and favorable behavior in dielectric terms, since the creepage distances are long.
  • the support body 35 On the end faces, the support body 35 is provided with a shoulder, each with a stop surface 41, which is in contact with the The rear end face of the associated side wall 26 or 29 of the circuit breaker 1 (see FIGS. 1 and 2) is intended for fastening in each case a threaded opening 42 which can be formed by a threaded bush anchored in the material of the support body 35 in the region of the heel surface and which it allows the support body 35 to be screwed to the side walls 26 and 29.
