Damit gleichzeitig mit der Hakennase 12 des Längssteges 8 auch der Hakenansatz 28 der Kappe 26 aus dem Längsschlitz 29 der Stulpschiene 1 ausgerückt wird, ist das dem Hakenansatz 28 gegenüberliegende Ende der Kappe 26 innenseitig mit einer geneigten Gleitbahn 31 versehen, auf die die Kante 13 des Sperrnockens 9 od. dgl. einwirkt, sobald sie genügend weit aus dem Längsschlitz 11 ausgetreten ist. Claims (7)

1. A safety catch for positioning bar devices and comprising positioning bars (2) movable by an actuating drive (3) into a number of operative positions, more particularly for tum-tilt fittings, comprising a lever (5) which is mounted on the moving member of the door or window or the like for pivoting parallel to the plane of the moving member, the lever (5) carrying a cam (9) or the like with which at least one strike (20) in the positioning bar (2) is associated, the cam (9) or the like being introducible by force storage means, viz. a spring strip (16) acting on the lever (5), into the strike (10) in a predetermined operative position of the positioning bar (2) and with the moving member of the door or window or the like open, whereas with the moving member of the door or window or the like in its closed position the lever (5) is adjustable against the action of the force storage means by an abutment on the fixed frame and its cam (9) or the like is disengageable from the strike (10) in the positioning bar (2), the lever being a dou- blearmed lever (5), one arm (6) of which is the actuating element and carries a pressure element (18) while the other arm (7) of the lever (5) carries the cam (9) or the like on its underside, characterised in that the double-armed lever (5) has extending around it, as far as its end zone (lever arm 6) carrying the pressing element (18) or operative as the actuating element, a cap (26) whose edges (27) rest on the support, for example, the face plate (1), the cap (26) has on its underside a hook projection (28) engageable in a slot (29) in the support, e.g. the face plate (1), and the cap (26) has in zones following on from its edges (27) a wall or a web (25) operative as a bearing support for the free arm (16b) of the spring strip operative as force-storage means.

A safety catch according to claim 1 and/or 2, characterised in that the cap (26) has on its covering wall (32) a passage (33) for the pressing element (18) and/or that arm (6) of the double-arm lever (5) which carries the pressing element (18), the passage (33) extending over the length of the wall or web (25) but at a distance thereabove.
4. A safety catch according to any of claims 1-3, characterised in that the wall or web (25) is formed with a slot (24) which starts from the free end and through which the longitudinal web (8) which carries the locking cam (9) or the like extends guidingly.
5. A safety catch according to any of claims 1-4, characterised in that the cap (26) is a unitary moulding in the form of a metal diecasting or a plastics extrusion.
6. A safety catch according to any of claims 3-5, characterised in that the cap (6) and the pressing element (18) which extends through the passage (33) in the cover wall (32) of the cap (26) are symmetrical of a normal plane of the carrier, e.g. the face plate (1).
7. A safety catch according to any of claims 4-6, characterised in that in the carrier, for example, the face plate (1), the slot (29) in which the hook projection (28) of the cap (26) engages is disposed before and at a distance from the slot (11) through which the locking cam (9) or the like engages and before the longitudinal web (8) of the lever (5), the web (8) carrying the hook projection (12).
