Abstract

A faucet aerator having a cylindrical housing with air openings therein and a lenticular screen arrangement in the housing downstream from the openings. The screen arrangement comprises two curved or dished screens arranged with their peripheral edges abutting and with their central portions spaced apart to form an air/water mixing chamber between them. The screens, in one embodiment, are integrally joined together along a portion of their peripheries. The aerator includes support means on the housing for supporting the screen arrangement by its peripheral edge on one side. A perforated member is mounted in the housing upstream from the air openings and a central spacer projects downstream to hold the screen arrangement against the support means.

Das Gehäuse 2 weist im Bereich eines oberen Ansatzes 8 einen größeren Innendurchmesser auf als im Bereich des unteren Ansatzes 4. Das Gehäuse 2 nimmt im Bereich des Ansatzes 8 ein kreisrundes, kappenförmiges Teil 9 auf, das eine Vielzahl von den Boden 10 durchsetzenden Löchern 11 aufweist. Auf seiner der Siebanordnung 5 zugewandten Seite besitzt das Teil 9 ein Abstandsstück 12, dessen freies Ende in Anlage mit dem oberen Sieb 6 der Siebanordnung 5 gelangt. Claims (6)

1. A jet regulator for faucet nozzles which may be inserted into a cylindrical outer housing being attachable at the faucet nozzle and which comprises a cylindrical housing (2) with air slots (3) arranged in its outer wall, a perforated part (9, 10) being arranged above the air slots (3) in said cylindrical housing (2), as well as at least two screens (6, 7) inserted into said housing (2) below said air slots (3), with the lowermost, outwardly pointing screen (7) being a relatively coarse screen, characterized in that above the perforated part (9, 10) a means (14, 15) limiting or controlling the flow is provided and that the at least two screens consist of at least one lenticular screen arrangement (5) formed of respectively two screens (6, 7), whereby at least the lower or outer screen (7) of said at least one screen arrangement (5) is a coarse screen having an open mesh size of from 0,8 to 1,5 mm.
2. The jet regulator according to claim 1, characterized in that the inner or upper screen (6) of said at least one screen arrangement (5) has the same mesh width like the lower or outer screen (7).
3. The jet regulator according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the two screens (6, 7) of said at least one screen arrangement (5) are manufactured of a plastic material and, as a connected part, are attached to each other hingewise at a point on their peripheral edges.

The jet regulator according to at least one of claims 1-3, characterized in that the means limiting or controlling the flow is formed in that the perforated part (9) is provided on its top with spacer ribs (13) and that on said spacer ribs (13) a relatively flexible disk (14) is mounted which is provided with cutouts (15).
5. The jet regulator according to claim 4, characterized in that the spacer ribs (13) extend radially from the center of the perforated part (9) and that the cutouts in the disk (14) are embodied as a central hole (15).
6. Screen arrangement for use in a jet regulator for faucet nozzles, characterized in that two screens curved in the same direction are connected within the area of their edges by means of a crosspiece and may be converted into a lenticular screen arrangement by overfolding.
