A la traverse supérieure 51 sont associées deux sondes 56 photo- électroniques, alignées entre elles en direction transversale, au-dessus des tubes 10, chacune des sondes étant située en retrait par rapport aux deux extrémités des mâchoires 52 du tube correspondant 10 : la position de chacune des sondes 56 en direction parallèle à l'axe du tube 10 correspondant pouvant être réglée à volonté en rapport avec le point-indice 30 prédéfini du bas 3 et avec la position prédéterminée du bas sur le tube 10. Chacune desdites sondes 56 est reliée à un cylindre correspondant 55 de manière à effectuer, séparément, la fermeture des pinces correspondantes (52, 52') sur les ailettes 11 des deux tubes 10 lorsque, après que chaque bas 3 a été exploré séparément sous l'effet du mouvement du chariot 5, le point-indice prédéterminé 30 de chaque bas 3 a été décelé. Finally, each of said cylinders 55 is slaved to a single switch 57 of the end of travel of the carriage 5 so as to defuse all the clamps (52, 52 ') and thus cause the immobilization of the two bottoms 3 in the predefined position on the two tubes 10.

Claims (9)

1. A method for the automatic positioning of the tubular legs of tights on the two tubes of the pneumatic reversing apparatus of a machine for sewing the toes of tights comprising the mechanical recall of each leg (3) from the interior of the corresponding tube (10) with the turning inside out on the exterior of the tube and the forced sliding of each leg on the lateral flanges (11) of the tube (10), characterized in that it enables, in sequence :
a. The exploration of the two legs along one of their generatrices and the detection, by two photoelectronic probes (56), of the initial position of a predetermined reference point (30) of each leg (3) positioned on the corresponding tube (10) ;
b. The closure around each leg, at the location or the lateral flanges (11) of the corresponding tube (10), at the command of the corresponding photoelectronic probe (56) when the latter has detected the predetermined reference point (30) of the leg, of a corresponding pair of grippers (52, 52') so as to cause the end (31) to be sewn to slide towards the predetermined final position on the corresponding tube (10) ;
c. The displacement of the two pairs of grippers (52, 52') closed in this way together with the underlying end (31) of the leg (3) to be sewn along the flanges (11) of the tubes (10) towards the free end thereof and up to the end of the stroke of a carriage (5) moving in a direction parallel to the tubes (10) and bearing the photo-electronic probes (56) and the pairs of grippers (52, 52') ;
d. The opening of the two pairs of grippers (52, 52') at the command of the conveyor carriage (5) when the latter has reached the end of its stroke thus leaving the end (31) of the two legs (3) to be sewn in the predetermined position on the tubes (10).
2. A method as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the closure of the two grippers (52, 52') entraining each leg (3) takes place at the open end thereof so as to ensure that the portion (31) to be sewn of the leg is entrained tautly over the entire length of the corresponding approach movement to the predetermined position on the corresponding tube (10).
3. A method as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the closure of the two grippers (52, 52') entraining each leg takes place- at different times so that the end of each leg (3), which is initially oblique, is placed, at the end of sliding, perpendicular to the axis of the corresponding tube (10).
4. A device for the automatic positioning of the tubular legs of tights above the two tubes of the pneumatic reversing apparatus of a machine for sewing the toes of tights whose arms in the form of two tubes (10) form a horizontal spider (1) in accordance with the method as claimed in claims 1 to 3 and comprising means (12) for the recall of the legs (3) of the tights from the interior of the two tubes (10) completing their reversing on the exterior of theses tubes and gripper means (52, 52') for the forced sliding of each leg (3) on the lateral flanges (11) of the corresponding tube (10), characterized in that it comprises a carriage (5) iwhich can move in an alternating manner on a horizontal rail (6) parallel to the tubes (10) stopped at a station of the toe-sewing machine and bearing at least two photo-electronic probles (56) for the longitudinal exploration of the two legs (3) separately and the identification of their predetermined detectable point (30), two pairs of grippers (52, 52') for separately gripping the two legs (3) on the flanges (11) of the two tubes (10), at least two pneumatic cylinders (55) for the actuation of the two pairs of grippers (52, 52'), each of these being activated/disactivated by a corresponding probe (56) when the latter has detected the reference point (30) of the corresponding leg (3) and disac- tivated/activated by the same switch (57) for the end of the stroke of the carriage (5) such that each leg (3) is gripped, whather the end of the leg is positioned obliquely or perpendicular to the axis of the tube (10).

A device as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the photo-electronic probes (56) for the exploration of the legs (3) are positioned above the tubes (10) in perpendicular alignment to the axis of the tubes (10) in an intermediate zone with respect to the jaws (52) of the corresponding grippers (52, 52') and to the rear with respect to the two ends of the jaws (52) to enable the ends (31) to be sewn of the legs (3) to slide tautly over the entire length of the corresponding approach stroke to the predetermined position on the tubes (10).

A device as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the position of the probes (56) and of the switch (57) may be adjusted in the direction parallel to the longitudinal axis of the tubes (10) in order to enable a modification of the predetermined position of the leg (3) on the tubes (10) with respect to the point (30) of the leg (3) previously selected as the reference.

A device as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the carriage (5) comprises three stirrups (50) with a vertical C-shaped profile which are justaposed and parallel to the tubes (10) so as to leave a free passage for the tubes (10) during the rotation of the spider (1) and in that the upper and lower jaws (52, 52') of the grippers (52, 52') are articulated on the upper and lower arms of the stirrups (50).

A device as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the upper jaw (52) and the lower jaw (52') of each gripper (52, 52') are connected together by a system of levers (53) to enable its opening and closure at the command of a corresponding pneumatic cylinder (55) in cooperation with a recall spring (54).

A device as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that the carriage (5) carries out its empty outward stroke towards the centre of the spider (1) during the advance by one step of the latter, and its stroke entraining the leg (3) towards the free and of the tubes (10) during the stoppage of the spider (1).
