Description

The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece which, in relation to the working direction, is provided at least on its front side with a rigid work bar which delimits the suction channel of the mouthpiece and whose support edge, which is adjacent to the surface to be cleaned, is designed as a tip.

Such a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece is known from GB-A 391 607. The work strips in this mouthpiece consist of narrow metal strips that are rigidly attached to the mouthpiece housing. When the mouthpiece is moved back and forth, the pointed support edges of the work strips penetrate relatively deeply into the carpet pile. As a result, the desired spreading of the carpet pile is achieved, but this has to be bought with a great effort when moving the mouthpiece back and forth. The high pushing forces in turn result in a correspondingly high level of wear on the carpet pile. In order to prevent excessive penetration of the pointed contact edges of the work strips into the carpet, separate support ribs are provided on the mouthpiece sole in the known mouthpiece, but this means that the work strips no longer have an optimal effect.

In a mouthpiece known from DE-U 7 431 298, the work bar consists of an elastic strip bent forward in the lower part. This enables perfect suction to a wall edge. When the mouthpiece is moved back and forth, the elastic strip is pivoted in accordance with the respective direction of movement and assumes a curved shape. As a result of the deflection of the elastic strip, the contact edge essentially slides over the carpet pile and does not penetrate it deep enough.

This also applies to a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece known from DE-C 671 420, in which flaps made of rubber are arranged on the two long sides of the suction channel. These flaps bend according to the direction of movement and slide with their rounded side over the carpet pile. As a result, the carpet pile is compacted rather than loosened.

The invention has for its object to design a vacuum cleaner mouthpiece of the type described in such a way that the working edges come into effect as optimally as possible, i.e. their depth of penetration into the carpet pile is not limited as far as possible and nevertheless heavy wear of the carpet pile is avoided.

The solution to the problem is achieved according to the invention in that the work bar is pivotally arranged and has a flat part to which the tip is angled and facing the suction channel to the outside, the angle between the tangent to the center line of the tip and the Center line of the flat part of the work bar is an obtuse angle in the range of 110 ° to 160 °. When pushing the mouthpiece forward, the work bar is pivoted backwards due to the frictional resistance with the carpet pile, so that the tip of the working edge comes into engagement with the carpet pile. The tip is able to penetrate the carpet pile and open it accordingly for better access to the suction air. Here, a steep engagement of the tip necessary for the wide opening of the carpet pile is achieved in that the angle between the tangent to the center line of the tip and the center line of the flat part of the work bar is an obtuse angle in the range from 110 ° to 160 °.

It is particularly advantageous that a pivotable work bar is arranged on both sides of the suction channel and the contact edge of each work bar is designed as an outwardly projecting, protruding tip relative to the suction channel. As a result, a work bar with the tip of its working edge comes into effect both in the forward and backward movement of the mouthpiece. A rounded course of the contact edge towards the tip end contributes to a reduction in the sliding resistance, since the rear work bar in the respective direction of movement lies on the carpet pile with the rounded part of its working edge and thus glides over the carpet pile without any significant frictional resistance.

The subject of the application is described in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing.

In a sectional view, FIG. 1 shows a suction mouthpiece in the rest position and FIG. 2 shows a suction mouthpiece when pushed forward.

Fig. 3 zeigt in vergrößerter Darstellung eine Arbeitsleiste.3 shows an enlarged work bar.

With 1 the housing of a suction mouthpiece is referred to, to which a suction pipe 2 which can be connected to a vacuum cleaner is connected. Both on the front wall 3 and on the rear wall 4 of the mouthpiece housing 1, a work bar 5 or 6 is pivotally attached by means of an elastic hinge band 7. The contact edge 8 of each work bar 5 or 6 is designed as a tip 10 which points outward relative to the suction channel 9. The tip 10 of the work strips 5 and 6 protrudes from the plane of the vertical part of the work strips 5 and 6.

Dadurch gleitet diese Arbeitsleiste 6 ohne nennenswerten Widerstand über den Teppichflor 12.FIG. 2 shows the position of the work strips 5 and 6 when the suction mouthpiece is moved in the direction indicated by an arrow 11. The work strips 5 and 6 are deflected due to their elastic connection to the mouthpiece housing 1 against the direction of movement of the mouthpiece. As a result of this deflection, the tip 10 of the front work bar 5 in the direction of movement engages in the carpet pile 12. The tip 10 of the work bar 5 penetrates deeply into the carpet pile 12 and opens it accordingly, so that the air flowing through the suction channel 9 can penetrate deeply into the carpet pile 12. The work strip 6, which is at the rear with respect to the direction of movement, lies on the carpet pile 12 due to the pivoting out with the rounded side of the support edge 8. This slides this job ste 6 over the carpet pile 12 without any significant resistance.

The work strips 5 and 6 can be formed as continuous strips and fastened to the mouthpiece housing 1 by means of an elastic connecting member. But there is also the possibility of dividing the work strips 5 and 6 into individual elastic tongues arranged side by side. When the suction mouthpiece is moved, only individual tongues are bent in each case in accordance with the resistance forces that act in different ways across the width of the suction mouthpiece, and these springs spring back into their starting position when the respective resistance force decreases. This movement of the tongues massages the carpet continuously and opens it so that the suction air can penetrate deeply into the carpet pile and carry the dirt stored there. In addition, since not all tongues are deflected at the same time, the pushing force is significantly reduced.

In the enlarged representation of the work bar 5 in FIG. 3, the tangent 14 at the end of the tip 10 is applied to the dashed center line 13 of the tip 10. The tangent 14 forms an obtuse angle a with the center line 15 of the vertical part of the work bar 5. It has proven to be particularly favorable that the angle a is in the range between 110 to 160 ° .
