Definitions

  • the invention relates to a bundling system for elongated objects, which has a plurality of bundling stations which are spaced apart from one another in the horizontal direction, each bundling station having an endless belt member which can be driven by a motor and guided around deflection rollers and which delimits the lower filling area of each bundling station, and furthermore two which are pivotably mounted over the upper filling area Roles exist.
  • a problem with wooden slats, which are produced in large quantities, is to bind a large number of them together in a compact bundle for shipping. This causes a lot of manual work, even when using binding machines.
  • a bundling device according to the preamble of claim 1 is known, which is used for bundling relatively heavy, metallic pipes, rolled pieces or rods with an annular cross-section. These are held in the interior by freely suspended, endless chains. By moving the chains, a compact bundle is formed, which is then lowered onto a roller table and guided over it.
  • DE-A-1 528 012 shows a device for feeding sawn timber to a saw.
  • the log to be sawed rests on a block wagon and a front frame wagon, which are interconnected by articulated links. This device is not used to bundle elongated objects.
  • GB-A 1358472 shows a system with two levers which can be pivoted relative to one another and a loop which is looped around the objects to be bundled.
  • the sling is tensioned by hydraulic cylinders. Since the loop is not all-round, the objects to be bundled are not shaken into a compact form.
  • the object of the invention is to create a bundling system with which elongated objects, in particular wooden slats, of different cross-sectional shapes can be formed into compact bundles, largely avoiding manual labor, so that tight-fitting tapes can subsequently be folded over.
  • each bundling station has rollers arranged in a ring-like manner in its lower region, against which the belt-shaped wrapping member during the inward-pivoting movement the or the lever comes to rest, the belt is guided around a pulley looped underneath the wreath-like rollers and the bundling stations can be moved together by a first feed element relative to a stationary, horizontal frame and second motor-driven feed elements are available with which the on a Carriage or carriage seated one bundling station can be moved horizontally against the other bundling station.
  • the bundling system is used for the compact formation of a bundle of elongated loose strips, in particular wooden strips, which can also have different cross-sectional shapes within the bundle, and which are subsequently wrapped at several points and thus held together for transport.
  • the system contains at least two bundling stations 2, 3, which are spaced apart from one another in the horizontal direction and are located on a horizontally movable frame 7.
  • a plurality of strips are loosely placed in these bundling stations 2, 3 and then formed into a compact bundle 4 in the manner described below. Thereafter, this bundle 4 is fed to an automatic binding machine 5, in particular a tunnel binder, in which the bundle 4 is wrapped with a band or the like at several points on the circumference.
  • automatic binding machines are known per se and are therefore not explained in more detail here.
  • a horizontally movable frame 7 is seated on a stationary support frame 6.
  • the frame 7 contains front and rear wheels 8 on both sides which roll on rails 9.
  • the frame 7 together with the bundling stations 2, 3 and the drive motors 12 and 14 can be moved in the horizontal direction A with the aid of a hydraulic or pneumatic lifting unit 10 if a ledge band 4 is to be fed to the automatic binding machine 5.
  • the bundling station 3 is rigidly connected to the frame 7, while the bundling station 2 sits on a carriage 18 or slide which is provided with wheels 20 or runners and can be moved along the frame 7 and relative to it in the horizontal direction.
  • the corresponding feed takes place with the aid of an endless chain 16 which is guided around deflection wheels 17 at the two ends of the frame 7.
  • One deflection wheel 17 of this chain 16 is driven by an electric motor 12.
  • FIGS. 3 and 4 show the structure of a bundling station 2 and 3, respectively.
  • An endless belt 22 is wound around a plurality of rotatable deflection rollers 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, which are mounted either in side support plates 21 or on pivotable levers.
  • This belt 22 is driven by a drive roller 26 from a drive shaft 24, which in turn is in drive connection with an electric motor 14 and drives both bundling stations 2, 3 together.
  • the belt 22 wrapped around the drive roller 26 is tensioned by a spring-loaded tensioning lever 38.
  • the two uppermost deflection rollers 32 and 33 each sit on a swivel lever 40, 42, which can be swiveled towards one another in the direction of arrows B and C.
  • This pivoting movement is each effected by a pull rod 52, 54, which each engages an arm 44, 46 and is articulated at the other end with a rocker arm 56.
  • the arm 44 is connected to the pivot lever 40 and the arm 46 to the pivot lever 42.
  • the rocker arm 56 can be rotated about an axis 58 and is driven by a drive element, not shown, for example an eccentrically acting lifting unit or a rotary drive.
  • a drive element not shown, for example an eccentrically acting lifting unit or a rotary drive.
  • In the lower part of the arcuate filler area 23 of the strips there are several approximately semi-circular support rollers 36 which are supported in lateral support plates 21, the axis of rotation of which is at least approximately on a circle.
  • the belt 22 In the filling area 23 for the strips, the belt 22 assumes a V-shaped position in the unloaded state.
  • the belt 22 is guided in the central region around a deflection roller 34 arranged below the support rollers 36 and penetrates a gap 37 formed between two overlying support rollers 36.
  • a deflection roller 34 arranged below the support rollers 36 and penetrates a gap 37 formed between two overlying support rollers 36.
  • a subsequent rotation of the rocker arm 56 in the direction of the arrow E causes the swivel levers 40, 42 to be pivoted in in the direction of the arrows B and C.
  • the belt 22 bears against the idler rollers 36, so that finally a compact bundle of strips is produced, which can subsequently be inserted into the automatic binding machine 5.
  • the frame 7 is pushed forward with the aid of the lifting unit 10.
  • the bundling station 3 is opened by pivoting the pivot levers 40, 42 back.
  • the carriage 18 together with the binding station is then advanced with the aid of the chain 16, so that the automatic binding machine 5 can attach at least one further band.
  • the pivot levers 40, 42 of the bundling station 2 are also pivoted in the opening direction. If there are more than two bundling stations, the feed takes place gradually in the same way.
  • this bundling system can also be used for other elongated objects, for example pipes, light metal profile rails, plastic rods or the like.
