Description

The invention relates to a folding door with a supporting frame and an elastic filling fastened therein, at least one folding point being provided on the horizontal frame leg. Swing doors have long been used, particularly in the industrial sector, which have elastic door panels made of transparent plastic and which can be driven on by vehicles, each opening in the direction of travel. Although such swing doors generally work well, there are certain disadvantages in special cases. If, for example, a swing door is to be installed together with a fire door, there is a risk that an open wing of the swing door will prevent the fire door from closing. This can be prevented by simply opening the swing door on one side, but this is undesirable for safety reasons because the door must then open against one of the directions of travel. In addition, the door must be fully opened in this direction of travel. There are also certain limits for swing doors of the type mentioned, even for large door openings. In addition to considerable lateral space requirements, it is above all the large masses and areas of the door leaves that place special demands on the drive and limit the opening speed. In addition, because of their large swivel radius, such swing doors represent a potential source of danger for people.

Attempts have been made to solve these problems by means of folding gates such as are known from DE-A 33 29 713. The folding door leaf used here consists of an elastic film over the entire width of the door leaf, which has vertical sheets of less elastic plastic between the folding points, so that a windproof closure can be achieved. The folding door is driven by a motorized chain hoist. A carriage is provided for each track. The carriage is moved back and forth by the chain hoist in a horizontal guide rail. This type of drive is structurally complex because a chain hoist runs across the entire door width. The opening speed is limited by the tensile strength of the chain hoist. When opened, a separate brake would have to be provided in order to prevent the door from closing automatically due to the elastic forces of the folded gate leaf.

On the other hand, the publication DE-B 22 54 231 describes a drive device for opening and closing doors by means of a lever arrangement. This drive, which is primarily intended for up-and-over doors, takes up a lot of space outside the swivel range of the doors. It is therefore particularly unsuitable for industrial applications.

Against the background of this prior art, the task arises of creating a folding door of the type mentioned at the outset, which does not have the disadvantages mentioned, but at the same time retains the advantages which are characteristic of the known swing doors.

This is achieved in a folding door of the type mentioned by the features according to claim 1.

The bending zone is preferably formed by an elastic strip which is firmly connected to the adjacent panel parts and extends essentially over the entire height of the door panel.

Since folding doors, unlike swing doors, do not open away from the direction of access, a relatively quick lateral wiping of the door leaves is desirable, but braking should take place towards the end positions. This is particularly necessary during the closing process, since the one-piece elastic fillings can develop considerable shear forces in the closing direction. In any case, when closing the last phase should slow down for security reasons. The door drive according to the invention has the advantage that, due to its construction, when opening and closing the door, the pivoting speed of the door leaves is increased in a first angular range and is reduced again in a second angular range to the end position when the rotary motor is driven at a uniform rotational speed. In addition, the engagement of the pivot lever on the support frame of the folding door means that the door is automatically held in the closed or open state. In this way, the door is automatically secured against wind pressure when closed.

  • Fig. 1 eine Falttüre gemäss der Erfindung in Frontansicht;
  • Fig. 2 einen Schnitt durch die Biegezone der elastischen Türfüllung;
A corresponding exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Show it:
  • Figure 1 is a folding door according to the invention in a front view.
  • 2 shows a section through the bending zone of the elastic door panel;
  • Fig. 3 is a plan view of the door drive of a wing in the closed position with dashed lines, open position, and
  • 4a to 4c three positions of the lever arrangement of the door drive in a schematic representation.

In Fig. 1, an overall view of the folding door with a support frame and elastic filling 2 is first shown. The horizontal frame leg 1, 1 'has a fold point 4, while the front edge of the door moves essentially along the lintel and can be guided in a corresponding guide 7. A drive 3 acts on the inner frame leg 1 and pivots this between the closed and the open position, as will be described in detail. In order to ensure proper closing from the open position, a forced folding device 4, 15, 16 is provided which, when the inner frame leg 1 is pivoted, inevitably causes the outer frame human to pivot in the same direction kels 1 'causes and which is also explained in more detail. The door panel 2 is designed as one piece and fastened to the support frame by means of the device described in CH-PS 2 424 180. In the area of the fold point 4, the elastic panel has a vertical bending zone of increased bending elasticity, which is formed by an elastic strip 5, which is firmly connected to the adjacent panel parts 6 and extends essentially over the entire height of the door panel, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 2 can be removed. Both the filling parts 6 and the strip 5 are preferably made of soft PVC, the strip 5 being connected to the filling parts 6 by cold welding. The filling parts 6 have, for example, a thickness of 7 mm, while the thickness of the strip 5 is 1 mm. This ensures proper folding of the elastic door panel along the area with the greatest bending elasticity. Although the underside of the door panel is not guided, but hangs freely, this embodiment also flawlessly folds there.

The door drive 3 can be seen in particular from FIGS. 3 and 4. It is arranged by means of a bracket 12 on the side of the lintel above the pivoting area of the folding door. A drive motor 11 is placed outside the door plane with a vertical drive shaft and acts on the inner door leaf via a lever arrangement 12, 13.

A drive lever 12 is fastened to the drive shaft of the motor 11 and slidably engages in a swivel lever 13. The pivot lever 13 in turn engages in a longitudinal guide 14 on the inner frame leg. As can be seen from Fig. 4a, drive lever 12, pivot lever 13 and longitudinal guide 14 are perpendicular to each other when the door is closed and thus lead to an automatic fixation in order to prevent the door from being opened unintentionally, e.g. due to wind pressure. The lever arrangement is now such that, with a uniform three-quarter turn of the drive shaft of the motor, a swivel movement of the door leaves that is accelerated from standstill and then decelerated to standstill is generated. As can be seen from FIGS. 4b and c, the first or last quarter of the motor rotation corresponds to a relatively small swivel angle, while the main part of the swivel is carried out in the middle quarter. This enables the folding door to be opened or closed quickly, which at the same time meets the safety requirements (slow closing in the end area) and avoids excessive mechanical stress on the components.

Fig. 3). Since the drive, as described, acts on the inner frame leg 1, a forced folding device 4, 15, 16 is provided for the outer frame leg 1 ', which ensures that each time the inner frame leg 1 is pivoted, the outer one in the opposite direction by a corresponding angle pivoted. The forced folding device 4, 15, 16 essentially consists of a rod 15, which together with the inner frame leg 1 and an articulated part 16 form a parallelogram, with which the articulated part 16 exclusively executes parallel displacements during the door movement (cf. FIG. 3). Between each frame bar! 1, 1 'and the joint part 16 each have a pair of levers, the inner levers of which engage in one another by means of teeth (not shown). As can easily be seen, each pivoting of the inner frame part 1 is thereby transferred in opposite directions to the outer frame part 1 '. In particular, this allows the folding door to be opened completely without the outer frame part 1 'hindering or even blocking the subsequent closing process in the initial phase.

Since the phase of the acceleration of the swiveling movement when the door closes already begins at a relatively steep angle of the door leaf (see FIG. 4c), an excessive load on the front guide 7 (FIG. 1) of the outer door leaf can also be avoided in this way . This guide 7 is kinematically not necessary per se, but ensures the exact position of the front edge of the door, in particular in the final phase of the closing process.

The folding door described also ensures safe and rapid opening and closing for large opening widths with a small space requirement, while maintaining the essential advantages of conventional swing doors. In particular, the folding door corresponding to previous swing doors can be driven safely in both directions by vehicles and offers a windproof closure, although larger door widths can be achieved than with previous swing doors. Installation together with fire gates does not pose any problems.

Folding door with a support frame and an elastic panel (2 ) fixed therein, where at least one folding zone is provided on the horizontal strut (1, 1') of the frame, where the elastic panel (2) is made of a single piece and exhibits a vertical flexing area (5) with an increased bending elasticity in the vicinity of the folding zone (4), characterized in that the door activator comprises a rotating motor which has a vertical axis shifted with respect to the plane of the door and which is positioned above the sweeping arc of the folding door, where this motor urges a swinging arm (13), the sweeping end of which is slidingly engaged in a rail (14) running longitudinally along the upper, horizontal strut of the frame of the inner panel of the door in order to swing the same, where, in its two end positions, the swinging arm (13) is essentially normal to the surface of the frame.
2. Folding door according to claim 1, characterized in that the activator urges the inner panel (1 ) of the door, and that when the inner panel is being swung, a folding device (4, 15, 16) enforces an inverse, complementary folding movement of the outer panel (1').
3. Folding door according to claim 2, characterized in that the folding device comprises a rod (15), one end of which can be rotated near the rotating axis of the inner door panel, whilst its other end is rotatably mounted on a linkage placed in the folding region and through which it urges the outer panel of the door.
4. Folding door according to any preceding claim, characterized in that the flexing area is formed by an elastic strip (5) solidly attached to the neighbouring panels, which extends essentially over the entire height of the panel.
5. Folding door according to claim 4, characterized in that the strip (5) is made of the same material, but less thick, than the panel body (6), and is welded to the latter on the flat sides.
