Description

The invention relates to a slatted frame for beds, consisting of a rectangular frame with parallel to its short sides spaced transverse slats, the respective ends of which are connected to the respective longitudinal member of the frame via a leaf spring.

Slatted frames for beds are known in a wide variety of embodiments. For example, the crossbars usually made of wood can be designed to be self-resilient and connected rigidly or resiliently to the frame. Numerous proposals are known for the spring-elastic connection, such as elastic rubber or plastic elements, helical compression springs, straight leaf springs and C-shaped curved leaf springs. The latter can be arranged either parallel to the crossbars or parallel to the side members of the frame.

As is known, the crossbars of slatted frames are to be fixed in their longitudinal direction so as to be secure against displacement, in the transverse direction, that is to say parallel to the longitudinal beams of the slatted frame, to a certain extent can be rotated and displaced. At the same time, the requirement for the resilient connection of the crossbars to the frame is that it is fatigue-free and overload-proof for a long time. Of course, the spring elements that have these properties should also be inexpensive to manufacture and assemble.

While resilient rubber or plastic elements can hardly guarantee the required fixation of the crossbars in their longitudinal direction and, above all, age and tire relatively quickly, helical compression springs and leaf springs are long-lasting, provided they are installed in conjunction with elements that limit the travel, but can be with helical compression springs, the resistance to displacement of the crossbars in their longitudinal direction and the tilting and sliding ability in the transverse direction are difficult to achieve. Furthermore, a number of additional parts are required for the installation of helical compression springs. Straight or C-shaped leaf springs can be manufactured inexpensively and assembled with little effort, but depending on the orientation with respect to the crossbars, they either do not guarantee their security against displacement in the longitudinal direction or hinder their tilting and displacement in the transverse direction. The main disadvantage of leaf springs is, however, that they have an essentially linear spring characteristic, so that the slatted frame only has the desired spring hardness symmetrically to its longitudinal center line when it is loaded, but becomes increasingly softer and correspondingly deeper, the further the load compresses towards an edge shifted there. The resulting "inclined plane" in the transverse direction of the slatted frame or the mattress lying thereon is highly undesirable.

The invention has for its object to provide a slatted frame of the type specified in the introduction, the crossbars are connected to the longitudinal frame via inexpensive to manufacture and easy to assemble spring elements that ensure a great security against displacement of the crossbars in their longitudinal direction, but at the same time a certain tilt and Allow transverse movement, are durable and have a strongly progressive spring characteristic to compensate for asymmetrical loads.

This object is achieved in that the spring in the side view in the area of its apex is curved evenly convexly with a large radius, that on the apex on both sides in a narrow radius of curvature angled inward, obliquely towards each other, running down upper legs to which in turn connect in a narrow radius of curvature angled, lower legs, which merge into the respective horizontal ends of the spring.

Such a leaf spring can be inexpensively produced from stainless steel spring sheet metal by bending and in the simplest case can be screwed on the one hand to the side member and on the other hand to the crossbar in question, so it can be assembled quickly and without additional parts. The spring hardness can be changed with simple means using both the material thickness and the width. The leaf spring allows only slight displacements of the crossbars in their longitudinal direction, but allows a certain mobility in the transverse direction, which can also be easily increased if the apex of the leaf spring is connected to the crossbar in a manner other than by means of screws. Above all, however, the special shape of the leaf spring ensures a relatively high hardness with low material expenditure and for a strongly progressive spring characteristic which counteracts an undesirably wide deflection when the mattress is loaded from one side. The slatted frame equipped with these springs is therefore inexpensive to manufacture, has the desired suspension properties and has a long service life.

Advantageous embodiments of the slatted frame or the leaf spring used for it are specified in the subclaims.

  • Figure 1 is a partial perspective view of the slatted base;
  • Figure 2 shows a perspective section in the area of a crossbar;
  • 3a, 3b show the partial section shown in FIG. 2 in a side view and in a partially sectioned end view;

  • Figure 5 shows a side view of another embodiment.

The slatted frame shown in Fig. 1 consists in a known manner of a wooden frame, of which only the two parallel side members 1 a and 1 b and a cross member 2 are shown here. Between the longitudinal beams 1a and 1b are usually also made of wood transverse slats 3, which can optionally also be convex. Each crossbar 3 is connected at its two ends to the relevant longitudinal member via an approximately Q-shaped leaf spring 4.

Gemäß Fig. 2 ist die Q-förmige Blattfeder 4 an ihrem Scheitel mit der Querlatte 3 verschraubt. Ebenso sind die beiden freien Enden der Blattfeder 4 auf einer waagerechten Auflagefläche auf dem Längsträger 1a festgeschraubt. Der Längsträger 1 hat einen L-förmigen Querschnitt;

2, the Q-shaped leaf spring 4 is screwed to the crossbar 3 at its apex. Likewise, the two free ends of the leaf spring 4 are screwed onto a horizontal support surface on the side member 1a. The longitudinal beam 1 has an L-shaped cross section;
  • the vertical leg acts as a travel limit or stop and thus avoids overloading the leaf spring 4, which could lead to its breakage.

As can be seen from FIGS. 3a and 3b, the leaf spring 4 has a uniformly convexly curved apex 4a, to which are connected on both sides in a narrow radius of curvature angled inward, obliquely downward, essentially straight upper legs 4b, 4c to which in turn, in a narrow radius of curvature angled, lower legs 4d, 4e adjoin, which merge into the respective horizontal ends 4f, 4g in a wide radius of curvature. The upper legs 4b, 4c are approximately as long as the lower legs 4d, 4e. It is essential that the leaf spring 4 has only relatively short sections running perpendicular. The respective narrow radii of curvature are approximately one third or two thirds of the height of the unloaded spring.

Fig. 3b) hohe Federhärte. As a result of the clamping of its two free ends caused by the screwing of its two ends 4f and 4g to the longitudinal beam 1a, the leaf spring 4 has a high spring hardness taking into account its material thickness and its width (see FIG. 3b). In addition, the spring characteristic is very progressive, which is at least partially due to the fact that part of the apex 4a on the crossbar 3 and part of the two lower legs 4d, 4e increasingly bears against the side member 1a during deflection, so that the for Shorten the effective sections of the leaf spring. This progressivity can accordingly be influenced by changing the radii of curvature on the one hand for the apex and on the other hand for the two lower legs.

Figure 4 shows a similar embodiment of the slatted frame as Figures 3a and 3b, but the slatted frame in the case of Figure 4 consists of side members with a rectangular cross section and a hard rubber block 5, which is attached to the apex 4a of the leaf spring 4 at its junction with the crossbar 3 and serves as an elastic stop to limit the spring travel.

Figure 5 shows an embodiment similar to Figure 3a. To subsequently increase the spring hardness, 4 C-shaped leaf spring elements 6 can be used between the lower and the upper legs and / or between the upper legs and the apex of the leaf spring, one of which is in the right part of the figure on the one hand in the loaded and on the other hand in the unloaded state is shown. The connection of these C-shaped leaf spring elements to the leaf spring 4 can be designed in a simple manner in such a way that the leaf spring elements can subsequently be inserted or removed by hand and without tools. For example, 6 pins 6a can be riveted to the ends of the C-shaped leaf spring elements and engage in corresponding, pre-punched holes in the leaf spring 4. Other solutions e.g. B. in the form of openings that cooperate with corresponding notches are also possible.
