Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electrical switching device, in particular a contactor, with an auxiliary switch arrangement that can be coupled by means of a positive connection, each with its own housing that holds the fixed contact parts and a contact slide for the switching device and for the auxiliary switch arrangement that can be moved therein parallel to the coupling plane and holds the movable contact parts.
  • a switching device is known from US-A 3,243,564.
  • the invention has for its object to provide an arrangement of the type mentioned above, in which simple and safe coupling of an auxiliary switch arrangement to a contactor is possible with simple means.
  • This is achieved in that the contact slide of the auxiliary switch arrangement can be connected to the contact slide of the switching device when it is coupled to the switching device by the interlocking of extensions and recesses formed on the slide and that a latch is provided which is connected to the contact slide in such a way via a lever connection
  • Auxiliary switch arrangement interacts to prevent the switching device from being switched on when the auxiliary switch arrangement is incompletely coupled, that when the auxiliary switch arrangement is coupled, it is automatically fixed to the switching device and that this fixing can only be released when the switching device is switched off.
  • auxiliary switch arrangement is provided with a molding consisting of two towers which can be inserted into a correspondingly shaped recess in the switching device, the housing ribs delimiting the recess ensuring that the towers fit in the recess without play.
  • lever connection comprises a strip-shaped lever provided with a recess into which an extension of the contact slide of the auxiliary switch arrangement projects when the switching device is switched on.
  • lever connection comprises a strip-shaped lever provided with an extension and the extension projects into the movement range of the contact slide of the auxiliary switch arrangement when the auxiliary switch arrangement is not properly coupled.
  • the usual arrangement of voltage damping on the protection need not be dispensed with in the auxiliary switch arrangement according to the invention if a recess is provided on the auxiliary switch arrangement for receiving a voltage limiting circuit provided with electrical connectors, the recess on the auxiliary switch arrangement corresponding to a recess of the same type in the switching device. If no voltage control is used, the recess on the auxiliary switch arrangement can be covered by a device identification label. A mounting device for the device identification label is provided on the voltage attenuation.
  • the auxiliary switch arrangement and the switching device are provided with a plug-in coding.
  • the latching pawl is provided with a rising surface which braces the housing of the switching device and the auxiliary switch arrangement with one another when it is latched. It is advantageous if the latch is designed as an eccentric.
  • a return spring acts on the contact slide of the auxiliary switch arrangement on the side facing away from the switching device. By means of such a coupling of the return spring, the means to be moved, which are necessary for the switching process, are always on one side against the stop, so that the slack in the coupling and in the guide is switched off practically without any further effort.
  • the contactor 1 shown schematically in FIG. 1 is connected on opposite sides to the connections 2 and in between to a recess 3, which is closed off by a cover 4 in FIG. 1.
  • a further recess in the cover 4 is closed by a further cover 5.
  • the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 is equipped with a molding 7 which can be inserted into the recess 3 after the cover 4 has been removed.
  • the upper part 8 of the auxiliary switch arrangement provided with the connections 2 is cubic and narrower than the contactor 1, so that the connections 2 of the contactor 1 remain accessible after the auxiliary switch arrangement has been applied.
  • a recess 9, which can be closed with the cover 5, is provided in the auxiliary switch arrangement 6.
  • an RC element, varistor or diode 10 for voltage damping can be snapped into the recess 9.
  • the electrical connection is made by inserting the contact blades 11 into the counter-head contacts 12.
  • the counter-contacts 12 end in contact blades 13 which can be inserted into counter-contacts 14 on the contactor 1 when the auxiliary switch arrangement is put on.
  • the mating contacts 14 are connected to the coil connections of the contactor.
  • the cover 5 can be attached to the RC element 10 as a label by means of a receptacle 15. If the cover 4 remains on the contactor 1 and the cover 5 is removed, the RC element 10 can be connected directly to the contactor via the mating contacts 14. Projections 16 on the molding 7 of the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 are used for coding.
  • the molded part 7 can consist of two towers 17 and 18, which bear against housing ribs 19, 20 as a limitation of the recess 3.
  • the housing ribs 19, 20 can be designed as scraper ribs, so that a play-free fit of the molded part 7 or the towers 17, 18 is ensured in the recess 3.
  • a detent projection 21 of the contactor 1 projects between the two towers 17 and 18 and, when the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 is in the fitted state, comes into engagement with a rotatably mounted detent pawl 22.
  • the radius 23 is asymmetrical to the center of the axis of rotation, so that the clamping surface 24 acts as an eccentric.
  • the latch 22 is spring-loaded in the closing direction via the spring 25, so that the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 is automatically locked and also braced when it is put on.
  • An arm 26 of the latch 22 protrudes into a slot 27 of a lever 28 which is displaceably guided in the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 and is accessible from the front of the auxiliary switch arrangement, so that the latching connection can be released by pressing the lever 28 against the force of the spring 25.
  • the lever 28 is further provided with a recess 29 into which an extension 30 of the contact slide 31 of the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 projects when the switching device is switched on, so that it is not possible to release the latching connection when the device is switched on 6 is also not possible since the extension 30 cannot be inserted into the recess 29.
  • the lever 28 thus indicates whether the attachment is completely attached. It is also not possible to remove the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 when the device is switched on.
  • the embodiment variant of the locking lever 28 shown in FIGS. 9 and 10 has an extension 37 instead of the recess 29, which prevents the switch-on movement by the extension 30 of the contact slide 31.
  • a detachment of the attachment when the device is switched on is also not possible here, since a displacement of the lever 28 in the detaching sense is not possible; because the extension 30 of the contact slide 31 lies in the path of the extension 37.
  • the coupling between the contact slide 31 of the auxiliary switch arrangement and the contact slide 32 of the contactor takes place via the extension 34 of the contact slide 32 inserted into the recess 33 of the contact slide 31.
  • play-free coupling can take place via compensating ribs.
  • An extension 35 of the contact slide 31 serves as an indication of the switching position.
  • the extension 34 of the contact slide 32 serves as a position indicator when the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 is removed.
  • the contact slide 31 is constantly held in the off position by the return pressure spring 38, so that it is not possible to mount the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 when the contactor 1 is switched on, since the extension 34 of the contact slide 32 does not fit into the recess 33.
  • auxiliary contactors according to DIN EN 50011 and motor contactors according to DIN EN 50012 it must be ensured that only suitable auxiliary switch arrangements can be placed on special contactors.
  • the coding projection 16 is arranged on the molded part 7 of the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 such that the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 can only be inserted into the recess 3 according to FIG. 4.
  • projections 36 are provided in the recess 3.
  • the auxiliary switch arrangement according to FIG. 4 cannot be inserted into the recesses 3 according to FIGS. 5 and 6, since here protrusions 36 protrude into the recess 3 at the point where the projection 16 is present.
  • the attachment 4 can be used, for example, as an attachment for an auxiliary contactor, so that the terminal designation according to the European standard DIN EN 50011 is met.
  • the embodiment according to FIG. 6 is intended, for example, for a motor contactor, so that the terminal designation according to the European standard DIN EN 50012 is fulfilled.
  • the standards are not taken into account, since the attachment 4 can be used in any way.
  • FIG. 11 for coupling an auxiliary switch arrangement essentially corresponds to the embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3.
  • the tower 17 lies on housing ribs 19 as a loading Boundary of the recess 3, which should cause a play-free connection between the contactor 1 and the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 with respect to the housing.
  • the coupling between the contact slide 31 of the auxiliary switch arrangement and the contact slide 32 of the contactor takes place via the extension 34 of the contact slide 32 inserted into the recess 33 of the contact slide, which can also take place via compensating ribs.
  • the recess 33 is coaxial with the extension 35 of the contact slide 31 formed on the opposite side of the contact slide 31, which additionally serves as a switch position indicator.
  • the spring 38 is provided here in the region of the extension 35 of the contact slide 31, is supported on the one hand on this and on the other hand on a surface 39 of the housing of the auxiliary switch arrangement 6.
  • the contact slider 31 is rotated more or less about the coupling point - extension 34, recess 33 - counterclockwise, so that when the contactor is switched on, the left turn resulting from the acceleration of the contact slider 31 occurs as a result of the tolerances in the guidance of the slide and the coupling is already anticipated between the two contact slides, ie the switching path for the auxiliary switch arrangement 6 can be fully utilized.
