Vorrichtung zum Zählen und Sortieren von Münzen eines MünzenkollektivesDevice for counting and sorting coins from a collective of coins
The invention relates to a device for counting and sorting coins of a coin collective according to the preamble of claim 1.
In a known device of this type, a single outlet opening for the coins is provided behind the sorting opening in the direction of movement of the coins. The width of the sorting opening in the direction perpendicular to the leading edge can be adjusted. Unsorted coins are conveyed onto the coin plate of such a device by means of a known vibration chute. The width of the sorting opening is adjusted to the diameter of the largest coin to be sorted and counted, so that these coins can pass through the sorting opening and only fail as the first sorted coin type through the subsequent opening opening. All other coins already drop out through the sorting opening. They run along the leading edge under the effect of the conveyor belt and are thus with one edge on the leading edge. However, since the width of the sorting opening is larger than the diameter of these coins, they are pressed into the sorting opening under the action of the resiliently mounted conveyor belt. Then the sorted but unsorted coins are again placed on the vibration chute, the width of the sorting opening is set to the next smallest coin type in diameter and the process begins again. The process is repeated until all the coins in a coin collection are sorted and counted. With each pass, the total value of the coins is determined and displayed by the coin recognition device. This can consist, for example, of a Liσhtleitfadenanordnung, as it is known from DE Patent 25 47 685.
It is also known to carry out the above-described process for counting and sorting coins of a coin collective in a single pass. For this purpose, a discharge opening is arranged along the guideway for each coin type of a coin collective, starting with the discharge opening for the coins with the smallest diameter and ending with the discharge opening for the coins with the largest diameter.
In both types of devices, which operate at high counting and sorting speeds of up to 3000 coins per minute, there is the disadvantage that coins of foreign currencies which correspond in diameter to a coin type of the coin collective to be sorted and counted.
Ersafebfatf
Ersafebfatf assigned to the respective coin type and also counted accordingly in terms of value. In diameter between the diameters of two types of coins to count and sort Lying foreign coins are sorted into the next largest coin type in diameter, but are generally not recognized by the coin recognition device, so that there is no incorrect counting, but the incorrect sorting can lead to coin stack packaging which is incorrect in terms of its value. Both known devices are thus capable of counting and sorting coins that do not belong to coins of foreign currencies and coin-like disks and the like. The like. indistinguishable from the coins of the desired coin collection and, in particular, not to be separated from the guideway behind the coin detection device even at the high working speed.
The invention is therefore based on the object of separating out the coins recognized by the coin recognition device and not belonging to the desired coin collective at high counting and sorting speed, and also to improve the quality of the recognition of the coin recognition device.
The solution to this problem results from the characterizing features of claim 1. According to the invention, those coins and coin-like disks which do not belong to a coin type of the coin collective to be sorted and counted, that is to say coins of foreign currencies and counterfeit money, by the Diverter element derived from the leading edge, along which they are guided under the action of the conveyor belt, at least by the width of the guide bar, on which the edge region of these coins would come to rest near the leading edge.
Ersatzblatt
Since these coins are no longer supported by the guide bar in the area of the sorting opening, which is arranged directly behind the diverting element, these coins fall into the sorting opening under the action of the resiliently mounted conveyor belt. Thus • can not belong to the desired coins collective coins of foreign currencies and coin-like discs certainly aus¬ be sorted before it the failure of opening an ent speaking, belonging to the coin collective coins places or failure opening for all belonging to the coin collective coins at high sorting and counting speed be fed.
Deflectors of various types can be used as deflection elements. It is essential that these can derive the recognized foreign coins and counterfeit coins by the distance from the leading edge which corresponds at least to the width of the guide bar. Deriving or rejecting ^ must take place against the action of the conveyor belt, which tends to take the coins along in the conveying direction and at the same time press them against the leading edge. According to the invention, a vertically movable pin is provided as the diverting element, which can be moved from above onto the guideway or from below into the guideway. The pin can also be pushed or pivoted laterally through the leading edge into the guideway. In a particularly preferred manner, the pin is supported at the end of an L-shaped lever arm directed transversely to the guide edge. To achieve a high working frequency, which is necessary at the high counting and sorting speed of 3000 coins per minute, it is actuated by an electromagnet, in particular high-speed magnet, which is actuated by the coin recognition device.
Further, the discharge element can be formed of a soft manner pivotable from ¬ part of the guide rail. Furthermore, an element for introducing the coins derived from the leading edge, in particular those of large diameter, is arranged above the sorting opening into the sorting opening. Coins of this type tip into the sorting opening 'under the action of the resiliently mounted conveyor belt, but can jam under the conveyor belt at high speed at the end of the sorting opening. A cone is preferably provided as the introduction element, the axis of which is directed transversely to the conveyor track and the tip of which is directed against the leading edge.
According to the invention, it is further provided that a coin stop which can be actuated immediately by the coin detection device with the drain element is assigned to the diverter element when it enters the guideway. This stops the flow of coins into the guideway simultaneously with the actuation of the diverting element and directs the other coins back onto the coin plate or prevents them from entering further. This prevents a real coin immediately following a foreign coin to be separated out from being gripped by the diverter element and passed into the sorting opening. The stop consists, in a manner known per se, of pins inserted into the guideway from below, which are arranged directly in the inlet to the guideway.
Da diese Münzen nicht von der Führungskante abgeleitet werden , können diese Münzen auch das Einleitblech frei passieren und in eine Sortieröffnung einfallen , in welcher somit nur die gewünschten DM 1,— und / oder DM 2,— Münzen gesammelt werdenFinally, an umbrella-shaped curved inlet plate is provided as the inlet element, the lower edge of which is arranged at a distance from the leading edge which is somewhat larger than the thickness of the thickest coin, and the lower edge of which is curved in the direction of movement of the coins in such a way that the horizontal distance the lower edge is initially larger than the diameter of the largest coin and then decreases continuously. When the diverting element is in its active position, ie diverting all coins from the leading edge by the amount of the width of the guiding strip, all coins are safely introduced into the sorting opening by means of the introducing plate. There is then only a counting process, but no sorting process, since foreign coins also remain in the unsorted amount of coins. The combination of discharge element and inlet plate has the particular advantage that one or more specific types of coins can be sorted out of the unsorted amount of coins, such as DM 1 or DM 2 coins from the German coin collective. After the recognition process, these specific coins open the diverting element by the coin recognition device, so that these coins can pass freely. Since these coins are not derived from the leading edge, these coins can also freely pass through the inlet plate and fall into a sorting opening in which only the desired DM 1 and / or DM 2 coins are collected
In order to improve the recognition quality, in addition to the element for recognizing the diameter, which consists of an optical fiber strip, the coin recognition device is provided with at least one further recognition element for coins. According to the invention, an inductive head for detecting the alloying of the coins is additionally arranged in the direction of movement immediately behind the component for diameter detection. The attenuation of a high-frequency field by the coin is measured with the inductive head. The electrical conductivity and permeability serve as parameters, from which properties the alloy of the coins can be determined. According to the invention, another inductive KODf operating at a different frequency can be used to separate the two parameters, which serves to test for steel content.
According to the invention, a further inductive head is also arranged at a distance above the guideway, the alternating field of which is also damped according to the two parameters of conductance and permeability, but additionally also as a function of the distance to the surface of the coins. The value determined is divided by the value determined in the alloy detection. The distance between the inductive head and the surface of the coin is determined from this. Since the installation height of the induct ¬ tive probe is known about the guide track, thus the thickness of the coin can be calculated. In a particularly preferred manner, the knurling of the coins moving along the leading edge is scanned with a bundled light beam in the direction of movement behind the component for determining the thickness of the coin. The probe for the knurling lies behind the leading edge. The focal point of the optics lies in the plane of the leading edge. During the movement of the coin, a characteristic reflection of the light beam arises, which is evaluated. Because of the possible contamination of the coins, the strength of the reflection is not measured, but only higher-frequency signal components are evaluated. Since the speed of the coins is almost constant, knurling can be concluded from the frequency components. A smooth coin provides e.g. B. frequencies of about 200 to 500 Hz, knurling provides frequencies of about 3000 Hz, the latter for example for a 5-Penσ_e piece. These frequencies result from the fact that the coin has a smaller diameter in the area of the knurling and therefore migrates from the area of depth of field of the optical light beam reader and in particular because the light beam is constantly reflected in other directions at the edges of the knurling. In a further embodiment, the edge can also be scanned mechanically. The signal determined is piezoelectrically transformed and evaluated in the manner described above.
Finally, the device is' downstream structure for the recognition of knurling a device for detecting the-surface-. The surface of the coin is scanned for embossing with a miniature inductive head. The measuring principle corresponds to the thickness measurement, the measurement evaluation corresponds to the knurling measurement. Alternatively, the surface structure can be carried out optically, as in the case of the knurling measurement.

Schließlich kann eine Ermittlung des Restmagnetismus der Münzen erfolgen , da alle Eisen -(Stahl-)- Münzen einen gewissen Restmagnetismus haben , der mit einem Hall-Generator gemessen werden kann .rsafzbf Finally, the residual magnetism of the coins can be determined, since all iron (steel) coins have a certain residual magnetism, which can be measured with a Hall generator.
Falschmünzen der Anteil an aussortierten echten Münzen kleiner wird .The method of recognizing foreign coins is based on checking a group of characteristics of the coins, i.e. Diameter, alloy, thickness, knurling, embossing and / or residual magnetism. As a result of each individual test, a value is obtained which indicates how likely it is that the coin tested is a real coin which belongs to the desired coin collective. These probability values obtained in all individual tests are then converted into an overall probability value using a calculation algorithm, which leads to a false / correct statement for the sorting out. It is particularly important that the individual tests do not lead to false / correct statements, but only the total value makes a false / correct statement. This means that the individual tests do not have to be carried out with high accuracy. If only the number of individual tests is high enough, the result is a very high accuracy due to the probability calculation. This leads to the fact that with the same high sorting out of foreign or. The proportion of rejected genuine coins is getting smaller.

The distance between the outer edge 24 of the sorting opening 16 and the guide edge 9 is smaller than the diameter of the smallest coin 11, 11 'to be counted. In the direction of movement of the coins 11, behind the coin detection device 14 and immediately in front of the sorting opening 16, a diverter element 18 is movably mounted, which in the embodiment shown is formed from a pin 19 which is at the end of an L-shaped, transverse to the leading edge 9 Directed lever 20 mounted and actuated by an electromagnet 21, in particular high-speed magnet. In the embodiment shown, the L-shaped lever 20 is attached to a pivot shaft 23 mounted in a pivot bearing 22, the other end of which carries a lever arm 24 to which the push rod 25 of the electromagnet 21 is articulated. Die Funktion des beschriebenen Ableitelementes 18 ist folgende:The function of the described diverting element 18 is as follows:
The coins 11 then rest with an edge area on the narrow guide bar 17, which extends immediately next to the guide edge 9, and can thus pass through the sorting opening 16 if the diameter of the coins 11 is greater than the distance between the outer edge 24 of the sorting opening 16 from the leading edge 9. Only coins 11 whose diameter is smaller than the distance between the outer edge 24 of the sorting opening 16 and the leading edge 9 are separated out through the sorting opening 16.
As soon as the coin detection device 14 has determined a coin 11 'that does not belong to the desired coin collection, the diverting element 18 is actuated by the coin detection device 14, ie the electromagnet 21 is energized. This pivots the L-shaped lever 20 out of it Position in FIG. 3 to its position shown in Fig. 4, wherein the pin of the discharge element 18 now projects 19 in the guideway 8 of the coins 11 J and not to the desired Münzen¬ collectively belonging coin 11 'is derived from the leading edge 9. Since the front edge of the pin 19 is arranged at least at a distance from the guide edge 9 at a distance of the width of the guide bar 17, the edge of the coin 11 'not belonging to the coin collective loses its hold on the guide bar 17 so that the coin 11' can be sorted out through the sorting opening 16, even if the other edge of the coin 11 'projects beyond the outer edge 24 of the sorting opening 16.
The diverter element 18 formed from the pin 19 according to the illustrated embodiment is movable vertically from above onto the guideway 8. In a manner not shown, the pin 19 can also be arranged to be movable vertically from below through the guide track 8 into the movement path of the coins 11 'to be sorted out. The pin 19 can also be mounted laterally displaceably in the guide rail 10 forming the guide edge 9. Finally, the diverting element 18 can also be formed from a part, the guide rail 10, which can be swung out in a switch-like manner.
Das : Einleitelement 36 ist aus einem Kegel 26 gebildet, dessen Achse quer zur Führungskante 9 und dessen Spitze gegen die Führungskante 9 gerichtet sind und der am Ende eines Federarmes 27 gelagert ist, welcherIn order to ensure that even larger-diameter coins 11 *, which do not belong to the coin collective, fail after being diverted from the leading edge 9 by means of the diverting element 18 through the sorting opening 16, there is an element 36 above the sorting opening 16 for introducing the means of the diverting element 18 foreign coins derived from the leading edge 9 or counterfeit coins 11 'of larger diameter are arranged. The: introduction element 36 is formed from a cone 26, the axis of which is directed transversely to the guide edge 9 and the tip of which is directed against the guide edge 9 and which is mounted on the end of a spring arm 27 which

At the cone 26 abut the coins 11 ', which have lost their hold on the guide bar 17 due to the deflecting element 18 pivoted into its active position, so that these coins 11 are then separated out through the sorting opening 16 under the action of the resiliently mounted conveyor belt 12 become. The remaining coins 11, which are conveyed against the guide edge 17 against the guide edge 9, can pivot the spring arm 27 and thus pass the cone 26 and be fed to a downstream sorting path by means of the conveyor belt 12. Associated with the diverter element 18 in the inlet 7 into the guideway 8 is a coin stop 29 which can be actuated immediately by the diverter element 18 from the coin detection device 14 and which stops the flow of coins into the guideway 8 simultaneously with the actuation of the diverter element 18 and the other coins 11 back on conducts the coin plate 3 or prevents their further entry. The coin stop 29 consists of pins 30 which can be moved from below through the guideway 8 into the path of movement of the coins 11 and which are arranged in the guideway 8 in front of the coin recognition device 14 in the direction of movement of the coins 11.
Das Ableitelement 18 hat somit die voranstehend beschriebenen Funktionen :The diverting element 18 thus has the functions described above:
Carrying out a pure counting process, foreign coins 11 'being separated out through the sorting opening 16 and real coins 11 being collected as an unsorted quantity of coins in a drop shaft introduced into the guideway 8 behind the sorting opening 16.
The execution of a counting process with a subsequent sorting process, the foreign coins 11 'again being separated out through the sorting opening 16 and the real coins 11 being sorted in a sorting path inserted into the guideway 8 behind the sorting opening 16 from a plurality of drop-outs, each assigned to a coin type . The further development of the invention described below, which is shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, enables two further functions. Arranged above the sorting opening 16 is an introductory element 40 for introducing the coins 11, 11 'derived from the leading edge 9 by means of the diverting element 18 into the sorting opening 16, which introductory element 40 is designed as a shield-like curved introducing plate 41, the lower edge of which 42 is arranged at a distance from the guideway 8 which is somewhat larger than the thickness of the thickest coin 11, 11 ', and the lower edge 42 of which is curved in the direction of movement of the coins 11, 11' in such a way that the horizontal distance 43 of the lower edge 42 is initially larger than the diameter of the largest coin 11, 11 'and then decreases continuously. The smallest distance 44 corresponds approximately to the diameter of the smallest coin 11, 11 '.
With this further embodiment of the invention, the following additional functions are made possible:
The performance of a pure counting process, with the diverter element 18 being constantly in its active position shown in FIG. 4, so that all coins 11, 11 ', that is to say the real coins 11 belonging to the desired coin collective and the foreign or counterfeit coins 11', are by means of of the inlet plate 41 are passed into the sorting opening 16. The outer edges of all coins 11, 11 'abut this screen-like inlet plate 41 when they are derived from the leading edge 9 by the amount of the width of the guide bar 17 and the contact surface for the at the leading edge by means of the diverting element 18 in the active position 9 Lose the inner edge and tip into the sorting opening.

The execution of a counting process and the sorting out of one or more specific coin types, for example the DM 1 coin from the German coin collective. This 4th function corresponds largely to the 3rd function; However, as soon as a coin 11 of the desired coin type, for example a DM 1 coin, is recognized by the coin recognition device 14, the discharge element 18 is raised into its inactive position according to FIG. 3, so that this coin 11 both the discharge element 18 and the inlet plate 41 can pass freely since the inner edge of this coin 11 rests on the guide bar 17 and this coin 11 does not tip into the sorting opening 16 and thus does not abut the lower edge 42 of the guiding plate 41.
The coin detection device 14 initially comprises a component 31, which is installed transversely to the guide edge 9 in the guide track 8, for detecting the diameter of the supplied coins 11, foreign coins and counterfeit coins 11 ', which is designed as a light guide detection device according to German patent 25 47 685. In this case, at certain, small distances from one another transversely to the guide edge 9, light guides with their scanning point ends are arranged within a light guide holder inserted into the guide track 8 and connected at their other end to photocells, which in turn are connected to a counting device. The inserted into the guideway 8 Set free ends of the light guides are illuminated by a light beam element, a scanning gap being formed between the ends of the light guides and the light beam element for the coins 11 to pass through.

Light guide detection device 31 arranged a component for detecting the alloy, which is formed from an inductive head 32 inserted into the guideway 8 with a flush surface, which measures the attenuation of a high-frequency field ■ by the coins 11, 11 '. Behind the ' inductive ' Head 32 for alloy detection, a further inductive head 33 for detecting the thickness of the coins is arranged above the guideway 8, the alternating field of which due to the electrical conductivity and the permeability of the material of the coins 11, foreign and counterfeit coins 11 'and additionally depending on the Distance to the surface of the coin is damped, the distance between the inductive head 33 and the surface of the coin being determined by dividing the value determined by the value determined from the alloy determination and the thickness of the coin then being determined based on the known installation height of the inductive head 33 above the guideway 8.
The. Coin recognition device 14 further comprises a component 34 for recognizing the knurling of a coin 11, 11 '. The Beuele ent 34 is arranged within the guide rail 10 and scans the coins 11, 11 'moving along the guide edge 9 by means of a bundled light beam, the reflection. of the light beam is evaluated. In a manner not shown in detail, a mechanical scanning device for the knurling of the coins 11, 11 'can also be provided, which scans the vibrations generated by the knurling of the coins 11, 11' via an electrical or electronic vibration sensor for evaluation.
Finally, the coin recognition device 14 can also have a miniature inductive head, which is attached above the guideway 8 and which scans the surface of the coins 11, 11 'in an embossed manner. The coin detection device 14 can also have a component for detecting the residual magnetism of the coins, which is measured with a Hall generator.
All components 31 to 34 of the coin detection device 14 are connected to an electronic coin detection device (not shown in more detail) and also to the electromagnet 21 for actuating the diverter element 18.
