Abstract

A partition which constitutes one wall of a shower stall has a fixedly mounted upright wall member and an upright door member which is pivotable relative to the wall member about a vertical axis between a closed position in which one upright marginal portion of the door member is adjacent to the inner side and overlies the adjacent upright marginal portion of the wall member and at least one open position in which the door member extends outwardly beyond the outer side of the wall member. The door member is coupled to the wall member by several hinges each of which is secured to the door member as well as to a discrete horizontal bar which can serve as a towel bar, which is adjacent to the outer side of the wall member and which is slidable relative to and is releasably connected with several bearings mounted on the wall member by distancing elements. One of the bearings can be anchored in or separably affixed to a further wall of the shower stall. Slidability of the bars relative to their bearings renders it possible to compensate for manufacturing and/or assembling tolerances.

Description

The invention relates to a partition for shower with at least one fixed wall part with a door, the wall part is anchored and has a carrying device for carrying and holding the door and the door is preferably made of glass and the carrying device on the one hand on the wall part and via a hinge on the other hand engages the door and the carrying device or its hinge part with the door is attached by means of a substantially horizontal rod to the area of the hinge facing the door, which is adjustable transversely to the pivot axis of the door hinges.

Such a partition is known from FR-A-23 91 341. The rod is designed as a dovetail part fastened directly to the door, which can be moved on a fixed profile in a corresponding groove. Particularly when the position of the fixed wall part is shifted from its anchoring side, there is a risk that splash water can escape between the fixed wall part and the closed door when using the shower.

There is therefore the task of creating a partition of the type mentioned, the arrangement of which allows the door to overlap the fixed wall part in all adjustment positions in order to prevent splash water from escaping from the shower cubicle when the door is closed and the door is nevertheless relatively closed to be able to adjust the wall part parallel to the plane of the wall part.

The solution to this problem is that the fixed wall part is also preferably made of glass, that the support rod is mounted displaceably and lockably in its longitudinal direction in at least one sleeve or clamp attached to the fixed wall part and has an arcuate or angular change in direction in the door-side area and thus grips the door-side edge of the fixed wall part at a distance and engages with the end of this arch or angle on the door itself, the hinge in the area of this arch or angle or in front of or behind it by dividing the support rod and connecting the two parts by means of a particular vertical hinge pin is arranged.

Thus, the carrying device includes at least one sleeve and the matching support rod, the possible relative movement of which allows the adjustment of the door for its adjustment relative to the fixed wall part in a simple manner. Elaborate dovetail guides, which could also tend to become dirty, are avoided. Above all, this arrangement allows the door to actually overlap the fixed wall part in order to prevent splash water from escaping from the shower cubicle when the door is closed and to be able to adjust the door relative to the wall part parallel to the plane of the wall part. The greatest possible adjustment distance results from the clear distance between the fastening point of the support rod on the door and the edge of the fixed wall part in one extreme position. The other extreme position is that this distance is almost zero.

It is particularly expedient if the holding rod belonging to the carrying device engages in the use position in two mutually aligned sleeves so as to be longitudinally displaceable and lockable. This results in good statics and support for this handrail.

The hinge-side edge of the door can overlap the fixed wall part on the side facing away from the support rod. As a result, the aforementioned relative movement of the parts to one another is made possible without changing the sealing effect when the door is closed, which can optionally be supported by appropriate sealing strips. With an adjustment movement to compensate for on-site tolerances, only the degree of overlap is changed.

The holding sleeve close to the hinge can be continuous and the second sleeve can be closed at its end. This results in a stop for the holding rod on the inside of this second sleeve in order to limit the displacement during adjustment to a maximum value. If, under certain circumstances, a larger displacement is required and is still possible on the opposite edge of the fixed wall part, the support rod can be shortened if necessary.

In addition, the sleeve, which is closed on the end face, has a hole or the like in its end wall for attaching a fastening element that can be anchored in a building wall. If this sleeve is firmly connected on the one hand to the fixed wall part and on the other hand to a building wall, the fixed wall part is simultaneously anchored accordingly. In this case, this sleeve thus has a double function.

Ausgestaltungen der Erfindung insbesondere hinsichtlich der Form und Ausbildung der Muffen und auch der Tragstange sind Gegenstand der Ansprüche 6 bis 15.Embodiments of the invention, in particular with regard to the shape and design of the sleeves and also the support rod, are the subject of claims 6 to 15.

Especially when combining one or more of the features and measures described above, there is a partition for showers, which can be used both in a corresponding wall niche on its own and in combination with several right-angled shower walls and an adjustment to different tolerances or the like Inaccuracies, especially with their swing door allowed. In addition, especially at the upper edge of this shower wall, not even guide rails or the like. Profiles are required, so that problem-free cleaning is possible, especially when made from glass. Also the overlap area of the door and the fixed wall part can be easily cleaned, for example, with the door open, without fittings or profiles hindering this, because the support rod can also engage on the door with a certain distance from the edge of a corresponding perforation of the door, as is the case for the holding sleeves on the fixed wall part of the case is. In a manner known per se, these glass surfaces can have perforations and holding elements that penetrate them in order to keep the edges free of profiles. The use of bolts penetrating the wall part or the door also has the advantage that these fastenings can also be released again, so that one or the other part can be replaced if necessary.

The fixed wall part 2 is anchored in any way and has a support device 5 to be described in more detail for carrying and holding the door 4. Wall part 3 and door 4 can be made of glass and yet be practically frame-free, so that the cleaning of the various Surfaces even in the edge area is hygienic and easy.

The carrying device 5, the function of which can be seen in FIGS. 2 and 3 and the clear configuration of which can be seen in FIG. 4, engages on the wall part 3 on the one hand and on the door 4 via a hinge 6 on the other hand. In addition, the carrying device 5 or its hinge part can be adjusted together with the hinge 6 transversely to the pivot axis of the door hinge 6, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, in order to enable a relative movement of the door 4 with respect to the wall part 3 to compensate for tolerances on site.

The support device 5 for the door 4 has an essentially horizontal rod 7, on the area of which the door 4 faces the hinge 6 is attached and which is horizontal and parallel to the longitudinal direction of the hinge 6 or clamp in at least one fixed to the fixed wall part 3 in its longitudinal direction Level of the wall part 3 is slidably and lockably mounted. Especially in Fig. 4 you can clearly see the support rod 7 and two fixing them, but also a longitudinal adjustment permitted sleeves 8 and 9. Here, the support rod 7 belonging to the support device 5 engages in the use position in these two aligned sleeves 8 and 9 but longitudinally displaceable also detectable. With fixed fastening points on the wall part 3 and on the door 4, the adjustability of the door 4 relative to the wall part 3 results from this adjustability.

In Figures 2, 3, 5 and 6 it can be seen that the door 4 overlaps the fixed wall part 3 with its hinge-side edge 10 on the side facing away from the holding rod 7. By means of the adjustment movement mentioned, this overlap area can now be enlarged or reduced in accordance with FIGS. 5 and 6, if tolerances on site make this necessary at the door opening. The difference between the largest and the smallest overlap is the largest possible adjustment.

In order to implement this construction and function in a simple manner, the support rod 7 in the exemplary embodiment has an arc-shaped or angular change in direction 11 in the door-side area, with which it engages around the door-side edge 12 of the fixed wall part 3 with more or less distance. With the end of this arch or bracket 11, it engages on the door 4 itself, the hinge 6 being arranged in the area of this arch or bracket 11 or behind it or according to the exemplary embodiment in front of it, a division of the rod 7 and connection of the parts by means of a vertical hinge pin 13 is, so that the hinge 6 results at this point. Its function can be clearly seen from FIGS. 2 and 3, where the solid line shows the door in the closed position and the broken line in the swung-open position.

Diese Verankerung gilt für die Ausführungsform nach Fig. 2.The holding sleeve 8 close to the hinge 6 is continuous, while the second sleeve 9 according to FIG. 7 is closed at its end. This frontally closed sleeve 6 has in its end wall 14 a perforation 15 for attaching an anchored in a building wall 16 fastener 17. Since this sleeve 9 also acts in a manner yet to be described on the fixed wall part 3, it receives a double function because it with contributes to anchoring this wall part or causes this. In addition, the wall part 3 is fixed in a manner known per se to the shower base 18 and possibly with other anchoring means. This anchoring applies to the embodiment according to Fig. 2.

In Fig. 3 it is provided that the sleeve 9 engaging in the end region of the support rod 7 has an angled leg 19 departing from it on itself or on the fastening element 20 to be described, for fastening to the fixed wall part 3 and for connecting to a crosswise to it fixed wall part 3 oriented further wall 21. Thus, this sleeve 9 also has a double function in that it on the one hand connects the holding rod 7 in a longitudinally displaceable and fixable manner to the fixed wall part 3 and on the other hand contributes to its anchoring.

Especially in FIGS. 4 and 7, it can be seen that the sleeves 8 and 9 for receiving the support rod 7 engage on the fixed wall part 3 via spacers 22 and by means of a bolt 23 which engages in the interior and pierces the wall part 3 at a predetermined position are connected to it, wherein on one side of the wall part 3 the spacer 22 and on the other side a rosette 24, a screw head or the like is provided. The sleeves 8 and 9 can therefore be assembled in a very simple manner even by a layperson.

A not shown in the drawing, only indicated in Fig. 4 for the sleeve 8 and its spacer 22 embodiment can consist in that the spacers 22 of the sleeves 8 and 9 relative to their storage 25 on the fixed wall part 3 eccentrically and in the release position of their Fastening element, namely the bolt 23 are rotatable relative to this eccentric bearing and thus also adjustable in height and to a certain extent laterally adjustable. This enables additional adjustability of the door even in the event of irregularities in the lower door area in order to prevent the door from jamming at its lower edge. With this measure, the door can be adjusted and adjusted not only in the lateral direction, but also in a pivoting direction.

In Fig. 4 is also indicated that the support rod 7 can be fixed and secured in at least one sleeve, expediently in both sleeves at least with a clamping screw, preferably a grub screw 26.

The angled part 11 of the support rod 7 is placed with its end face on the door surface and detachably fastened by means of a bolt 27 (FIG. 4) penetrating it at a distance from its edge 10. This arrangement makes it easier to arrange the door overlapping the fixed glass wall 3 in the intended manner and the edges of the door of profiles, fittings and. The like. To keep free, so that they can be cleaned well in the open position in the area of this edge 10. The good accessibility of this edge 10 for cleaning when the door is open can be seen particularly clearly in FIG. 3.

In the exemplary embodiment, the holding sleeves 8 and 9 on the support rod 7 keep a distance from one another such that the part of the support rod 7 located between them is a towel holder. Because of the stable anchoring of the support rod 7, this area can also serve as a handle, for example for a disabled person. Such a handle directly on the outside of a shower cubicle 1 is also advantageous because moistening the surrounding floor is often unavoidable when getting out of the shower, so that it then becomes smooth.

The support rod 7 is fastened on the side of the fixed wall part 3, on which side the door 4 can be swung open, as can be seen in FIGS. 2 and 3. The door is preferably pivoted outwards, that is, the support rod 7 is provided on the outside of the shower cubicle 1. The door itself then overlaps the fixed wall part 3 in the closed position on the inside. The support rod 7 can, as can be seen in the comparison of FIGS. 5 and 6, be adjusted until it runs close to the edge 12 of the fixed wall part 3. This is one extreme position of the adaptation to on-site tolerances, while the other extreme position is shown in FIG. 5. In this case, the angled part 11 runs past the edge 12 of the fixed wall part 3 with the greatest distance.

The support rod and the sleeve could have projections and longitudinal grooves that match each other in a manner not shown in more detail as a rotation lock, in particular for support rods 7 which are circular in cross section and internal openings of the sleeves 8 and 9, which cross-sectional shape is also provided in the exemplary embodiment. This could relieve the clamping screws of this function. In this case, it would be particularly expedient if the support rod 7, which was made of solid material or a tube, had the longitudinal groove and the sleeves 8 and 9 had the appropriate projections.

Another possibility of securing against rotation is that the outer contour of the support rod 7 and the passages of the sleeves are polygonal to each other.

Overall, there is a partition 2 for showers 1, which not only makes it easy to adapt to different inaccuracies in a swing door, but also allows an elegant appearance due to the frameless mounting of the parts that belong together. At the same time, this promotes cleaning and the carrying device 5 for the door, which also allows its adjustability to compensate for inaccuracies, can also be used as a handle or towel holder. Furthermore, this support device 5 gives the opportunity to give an aesthetic special touch by appropriate shaping of the cross section and the curvature, the sleeves and the color of a shower cubicle 1 and additionally to make visible, especially when using clear glass parts, where these parts are Avoid user collisions.
