Description

The invention relates to a system for producing structured textile velor needle felt webs from a pre-needled fleece made of staple fibers, which consists of a non-woven machine, a pre-needle machine and a velor needle machine. Plants of the aforementioned type have already become known. The most problematic part of such systems is the conventional velor needle machine. The velor needle felt webs produced by means of the known systems leave a lot to be desired in various respects. In particular, the uniformity and freedom of orientation of the product image cannot be achieved with their help. Furthermore, the strength of the needle felt web is not sufficient and finally the machines used hitherto require a relatively high amount of energy, which in turn means that the fibers are damaged or torn to a greater or lesser extent.

For the pre-needling of pile or fleece webs consisting of several layers, it has been proposed to use a pre-needle machine in which the stitch underlay consists of an endless conveyor belt which is covered with bristles. However, such a machine does not work to full satisfaction, since the needling is relatively uneven and, in particular, streaking occurs, which are due to the design. Therefore, such a machine cannot be used as a velor needle machine at all.

The invention has for its object to provide a system for producing textured velor needle felt webs with the lowest possible basis weight, which are characterized by a great uniformity and freedom of orientation of the product image and a high strength of the needle felt web, and the operation of which requires the lowest possible energy consumption .

To achieve this object, it is proposed according to the invention to design the system in question in such a way that at least the velor needle machine is equipped with an endless brush belt carrying the fleece to be needled and serving as a backing pad, which is composed of a plurality of brush plates carrying the tufts of bristles is, the outer edges of which are formed in a zigzag shape such that the edges of adjacent brush plates engage in such a way that the bristle tufts along the outer edges have the same distances from one another as those in the inner region of the brush plate, that the bristles of the bristle tufts are conical at their free end or are ground in a wedge shape, that the hold-down plate rests on the nonwoven web and is pressed against it, and that crown needles are used for the three-dimensional structuring of the pre-needled nonwoven.

Advantageously, the nonwoven needle machine is equipped with at least two needle bars arranged parallel to one another, either both needle bars being moved by a common drive mechanism or each needle bar being assigned its own drive mechanism so that the work cycles are offset from one another.

Furthermore, it is advantageous to switch on a nonwoven drafting machine between the pre-needle machine and the velor needle machine, which is particularly suitable if the end product obtained is to be subjected to deformation by deep drawing or embossing in the course of further processing. By stretching the fleece, fiber orientation is achieved with the aim of imparting better isotropic elastic properties to the goods.

Even if the velor needle machine designed according to the invention is particularly suitable for bringing about the three-dimensional structuring of the originally smooth non-woven fabric in order to obtain the desired uniform product with a homogeneous, in no way oriented pile and high strength, the pre-needle machine can advantageously also in the same way be designed like the velor needle machine, but without this being equipped with crown needles. The stitch pad in the form of an endless bristle band evenly covered with bristles over the entire surface offers an excellent prerequisite for a largely uniform, homogeneous pre-needling of the pile of the pile web to a pre-needled fleece of particularly good uniformity, which was previously not achievable. This allows the quality of the end product to be further improved, particularly with regard to its strength in the final state.

In Figures 1 to 3 of the drawings, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated by means of a preferred exemplary embodiment, which is described in more detail below. Show it :
  • Figure 1 is a side view of the system for the production of structured textile velor needle felt webs, which is designed according to the invention.
  • Figure 2 is a plan view of a section of the endless brush belt composed of numerous individual brush plates.
  • Fig. 3 is a side view of adjacent brush plates, from which the brush band is composed.

As can be seen in FIG. 1, the system in question for producing structured textile velor needle felt webs consists of a fleece laying machine 11, by means of which the large-volume nonwoven web 12 to be pre-needled is formed by superimposing a plurality of pile layers. Downstream of the fleece laying machine 11 is the pre-needle machine 13, by means of which the Nonwoven web 12 is compressed. The pre-needled nonwoven web 14 treated in this way is finally fed to the velor needle machine 15, in which the smooth nonwoven web 14 receives its three-dimensional structuring through an orientation-free pile formation.

In certain cases, a nonwoven drafting device 16 is connected between the pre-needle machine 13 and the velor needle machine 15 in order to impart certain desired properties to the end product by treating the nonwoven 14 in this drawing device, in particular with regard to easy and clean deformation of the goods. The pre-needle machine 13 can have the usual construction of the machine used for such purposes. However, it is particularly advantageous if a brush belt is used as the stitch support and transport means for the web 12 or 14, as the velor needle machine 15 necessarily has.

In the velor needle machine 15, a brush band 21 serves as a stitch pad for the crown needles 23 seated on the two needle beams 22. The brush band 21 consists of numerous brush plates 24, which are regularly arranged with bristle bushes 25, as can be seen in particular in FIG. 2. The outer edges 26 of the brush plates 24 are formed in a zigzag shape, so that respectively adjacent brush plates 24 can mesh with one another, so that the distances of the outermost bristle tufts 25 along the outer edges of adjacent brush plates 24 have the same distances in every direction as the bristle tufts 25 in the inner region of the Brush plate 24.

The brush plates 24 are provided on their rear side with retaining strips 27, which are provided on opposite sides with a groove 28, into which the legs 29 engage from fastening rails 30 which extend across the width of the brush band 21. The fastening rails 30 are fastened to endlessly rotating conveyor chains or belts or the like.

With such a design of the brush plates and arrangement of the bristle tufts 25, an absolutely uniform brush band 21 is obtained, which is a prerequisite for an absolutely uniform end product.

In order to avoid the occurrence of a so-called fungus formation when the needle tip hits a bristle, the bristles are either tapered or wedge-shaped, which ensures a longer service life of the brush belt 21. However, this measure also avoids the formation of burrs at the tip of each bristle, which has the effect of a barb, by means of which the nonwoven fabric or individual fibers of the same are undesirably retained. Thus, the aforementioned measure also serves to improve the quality of the product.

In the previously known needling machines, the hold-down plate, through the openings of which the needles are pierced into and through the pre-needled nonwoven fabric, is firmly arranged. This has the consequence that the nonwoven web performs an undesirable filter movement during the passage, which can be avoided by letting the hold-down plate rest on the nonwoven web, preferably under light pressure, which is possible because the bristles of the brush band supporting the nonwoven fabric 21 have a certain intrinsic elasticity. This measure can improve the quality of the end product and in particular its surface.

The proposed use of crown needles for the purpose of three-dimensional structuring of the pre-needled nonwoven fabric gives a voluminous velor needle felt web of extraordinary uniformity and structural freedom, which was previously not available with any of the previously known machines. The crown needles are such needles in which the notches on the needle shaft are all distributed over the circumference at the same distance from the needle tip. Experience has shown that the fork nadein commonly used so far produces a relatively lean pile of goods.

The consequence of the crown needles to be used according to the invention is that the puncture forces are considerably lower than those which occur when using fork needles, so that the energy requirement of the velor needle machine is considerably reduced. However, this also means that the damage to the fibers by the needles is substantially less, which in turn increases the strength of the velor needle felt web.

On the one hand because of the low energy requirement, but on the other hand because of better product quality, the velor needle machine 15 has two needle bars 22, as can be seen from FIG. 1. However, it is also possible to provide further needle bars, the movement of which can be controlled in such a way that the working strokes follow one another.

If the velor needle felt web is to be subjected to a more or less strong change in shape, for example by deep drawing or embossing, which is important, for example, with regard to certain equipment elements in automobile construction, then a needle felt web is desired which has elastic properties that are as uniform as possible in all directions. For such applications, it is advantageous to switch on a nonwoven drafting device 16 between the pre-needle machine 13 and the velor needle machine 15, as shown in FIG. 1.

The system designed according to the invention makes it possible to obtain extremely evenly structured textile needle felt webs, the appearance of which is characterized by great uniformity and freedom of orientation as well as high strength even with low basis weights draws.
