- the batteries or accumulators 4 are arranged in a compartment 6 of the case 1,2 which is closed by a removable cover 7 of which a part 7a is foldable to allow the exchange of batteries 4 without completely removing this cover 7.
- the side walls of the case 1 are slightly conical to allow their disassembly and the end face 8 of this case 1 has ribs 9 of increasing thickness constituting feet allowing the case to be placed on a horizontal surface in a vertical position as illustrated in Figure 3.
- This case 1, 2 also has a groove 10 having in cross section the shape of a dovetail, formed in its bottom and extending parallel to the long sides of this bottom. As will be seen later this groove 10 allows the fixing of the lamp on the case which then forms a base or support for the latter.

- the lamp 3 proper is formed of a foot 16 provided with means of attachment to a support, a telescopic arm 17, 18 and a lampshade 19.
- the foot 16 of the lamp came from a workpiece, by molding, with the lower part 17 of the telescopic arm of the lamp.
- a plastic hinge 22, formed by a weakening of the material, extending perpendicular to the longitudinal axis xx of the foot 16 allows the arm 17,18 to pivot relative to the foot from a position for which the lower part 17 of the arm is in the extension of the foot into a position for which the lower part 17 of the arm is folded against the upper face of the foot.
- This foot comprises at its rear end, close to the hinge 22 connecting it to the lower part 17 of the arm, two pyramidal projections 20 whose external faces are each located in one of the lateral faces of the foot and whose internal faces cooperate with the external faces of two pins 21 of the lower part 17 of the arm.
- These pins 21 have beveled faces 2la to guide their entry into contact with the internal faces of the projections 20. The friction between these pins 21 and the internal faces of the projections 20 is sufficient to allow the arm 17,18 to be immobilized in a position angle chosen by the reader.
- Passages 24a made in the foot 16 give passage to the pins 21 to allow the arm 17, 18 to be completely folded against the foot 16.
- the stand 16 also includes means for fixing to a support such as the cover page of a book for example.
- These fixing means are constituted in this embodiment by two lower blades 23, located in the same plane but separated from each other, each embedded by their rear end in one of the projections 20.
- These fixing means comprise another upper blade 24, the rear end of which is integral with the two projections 20.
- This upper blade 24 is slightly wider than the free space between the lower blades 23 and covers it.
- the underside of this outer cutter 24 is located in a plane approximately parallel to the plane containing the upper faces of the lower blades 23, 25 a stop integral with the upper blade 24 normally comes in contact with the upper faces of the lower blades 23. Thanks to the inherent elasticity of the blade 24 and / or of the blades 23, an elastic clamp or trident has thus been produced which can be threaded over the cover of a book and pinch it sufficiently hard to hold the lamp in the position chosen by the reader.
- the lower part 17 of the arm 17, 18 of the lamp has for the most part a tubular shape of square or rectangular section whose external dimensions correspond to the internal dimensions of the part su 18 of this arm so that it can slide with friction therein.
- the length of the arm 17,18 can be modified at will by the reader, the friction between the two parts 17,18 being sufficient to ensure the maintenance of these parts in the position chosen by the user.
- the upper part 18 of the telescopic arm came from a molding part with the lampshade 19 and these parts are connected by a plastic hinge 30.
- This plastic hinge extends parallel to the plastic hinge 22.
- the internal faces 31 rear projections 25 rub against the side faces 26 of the upper part 18 of the telescopic arm to allow the relative position of the lampshade to be fixed on the arm as desired by the user.
- Inclined planes 27 at the end of the rear extensions 25 ensure a smooth and progressive engagement between these parts and the upper part 18 of the arm,

- the back of the upper part 18 of the arm has a mile formation 32 of dovetail cross section intended to cooperate with the groove 10 of the case.
- the lamp when the case 1 is placed in a vertical position ( Figure 3) the lamp can be fixed there by the introduction of the formation 32 in the groove 10 so as to produce a portable table lamp. In this position, the foot 16 is folded against the lower part 17 of the arm.
- the female formation can be constituted by an opening made in the pa king of the case 1 and the male formation by a tongue carried by the back of the upper part of the arm.
- FIG. 5 illustrates a variant of the leg 16 which comprises fixing means constituted by a clamp formed by an upper plate 33 integral with the projections 20 and a lower plate 3 4 connected to the projections 20 by an elastic member tending to apply to the upper plate 33 against which it normally bears by means of a stop 35.
- lamp can be powered by batteries or sectors and when not in use it can be stored like the adapter, in a case containing the batteries or accumulators. Finally, as it can be fixed on the case which can be placed vertically, the lamp can be converted into a table lamp.
- the arm can be made in a single piece from manufacturing with the base and the lampshade to which it is connected by plastic hinges.
