Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electronic time switch with the electrical connection device arranged directly on the housing of the time switch, in particular with a plug and with a socket provided coaxially with the plug, with a digitally displaying, optoelectronic display module and with a keypad consisting of several buttons for programming the Switching times and for setting the time.
  • time switches which are connected in particular with the plug integrated therein in the time switch housing directly to a spatially permanently installed socket which is not always ideally positioned in terms of operation and are mechanically fixed in a releasable manner, it is expedient if the respective switching time and / or the time are above a larger viewing angle range can be read on the display module.
  • the display area of the module runs essentially parallel to the front or socket side there.
  • this is a very considerable disadvantage for a large number of applications, particularly when using so-called LCD display modules, especially since the viewing angle for a correct reading of a display is relatively small there and essentially only satisfactory reading from the front, ie limited to the front of the time switch or the side of the time switch socket.
  • electromechanical socket time switches which are provided with a switching disk with programmable switching tabs arranged on the circumference and with a dial provided on the switching disk for displaying and reading the switching and / or the times, it is known to show the front with the Switching disc ie with the display horizontally towards the back of the time switch at a small angle of max. 15 ° inclined to arrange. This angle of inclination is permanently integrated in the housing.
  • these versions for improved reading of the display compared to the known time switches mentioned above can also be read off only to a limited extent.
  • the invention has for its object to improve the reading or viewing angle on the display of the display module in a time switch of the type mentioned in such a way that the switching and / or the times or other displayed on the module Information from the most frequently occurring angles of view, even with a spatially unfavorable arrangement of the time switch on a socket, can be read directly and without distortion.
  • time switch is not only the already mentioned ideal adjustability of the display area of the display module to the most appropriate viewing angle by rotating, or pivoting or adjusting the display area of the module in relation to the electrical connection device in general, but also the resulting from this solution expedient and user-friendly housing shapes for such time switches, in particular by the division of the housing of the time switch into two partial housings provided in a further development of the present subject, at least the electrical connection device being accommodated in one partial housing and the display module being accommodated in the second, in particular smaller, partial housing.
  • Another advantage is the simple and clear structure, in particular the easy spatial separability on the one hand of the low-voltage electronic components in the area of the display module in the one partial housing, of the high-current components, the electrical connection device, a required load switching relay and / or AC-DC converter on the other hand other part of the timer.
  • the time switch shown in FIG. 1 shows in detail a housing 1 with a square cross section on the front and a rectangular cross section on the side.
  • the electrical connection device with a plug 2 and with a socket 3 provided coaxially with the plug 2 is directly integrated in the housing 1.
  • a digitally displaying optoelectronic display module 4 is arranged, which is covered by a transparent cover 5.
  • the display module 4 in particular an LCD module, can be rotated, pivoted and adjusted in the horizontal plane by approximately 90 ° about the axis 6, and also in the vertical plane by approximately 90 ° around the axis 7 rotatable, swiveling or adjustable. I.e. based on the horizontal rotatability, the angle is 0 ° if the display surface 9 of the module 4 is parallel to the front of the timer or to the so-called socket side 8 (optimal readability from the front). The readability of the display surface 9 can now be changed upwards by approximately 90 ° relative to the side 8 by the particularly stepless rotatability about the axis 6 until the display surface 9 is perpendicular to the side 8 in this position.
  • the angle is, for example, 0 ° when the display surface 9 of the module 4 runs parallel to the side 8 with respect to the course of the axis 6.
  • the module can now be rotated by approx. 45 ° on each side (optimal readability from the set side from the front or from above, even if a horizontal setting has been made).
  • the respective horizontal and / or vertical setting of the module 4 can be fixed in position if necessary.
  • the respective position can be designed to be latchable or infinitely lockable.
  • the rotatable adjustment of the module 4 or its display surface 9, which can be effected manually, is expediently carried out from outside the cover 5.
  • provision is also made for an adjustment of the module 4 or its display surface 9 both horizontally by acting on the cover 5 as well as in the vertical is possible.
  • the cover 5 with the module 4 mounted there on the inside can be rotated or adjusted horizontally about the axis 6 up and down and also vertically about the axis 7 to the side 8.
  • the housing of the time switch is formed from two sub-housings 1 a and 1 b.
  • the electrical connection device is provided with a socket 3 and a plug which is provided coaxially with the socket 3 and is not visible in this figure.
  • This partial housing 1 is in particular rectangular, upright, elongated and is connected on its upper side to the partial housing 1 via a hinge 10.
  • the display module 4 and advantageously also the keypad 11 for entering the switching times and for setting the time are arranged in the partial housing 1 b, which in the present embodiment only corresponds to approximately 1/3 of the volume size of the partial housing 1 a.
  • the display surface 9 of the display module 4 runs parallel to the front of the timer or to the socket 8.
  • FIG. 3 shows that the sub-housing 1 b with the module 4 can be rotated or pivoted, or adjusted, by approximately 90 ° around the horizontal axis 6, so that the reading angle of the display can be changed continuously upwards from the front is.
  • 11 there designates the single-row keypad for data input into the watch electronics.
  • the hinge 10 provided between the two sub-housings 1 a and 1 b is, in particular, tubular there.
  • a battery chamber for storing a supply battery or a corresponding rechargeable battery for operating the electronics of the watch is expediently provided in the tube interior.
  • the hinge 10 is particularly equipped with means for determining the respective position of the partial housing 1 b to the partial housing 1 a.
  • the creation of the two sub-housings 1 a and 1 b not only fulfills the purpose of making the reading of the display surface 9 individually adjustable to the side 8, but it is also possible in a relatively simple manner to use the relatively high mains voltage in the area of the electrical connection device of FIG separate the low voltage required for the operation of the electronics of the watch. It is therefore provided that, in addition to the electrical connection device, a power switching relay and / or an AC-DC converter as the mains supply for the electrical system is also required in the partial housing 1 nik the clock is arranged. In addition to the display module 4 and the already mentioned keypad 11, the entire remaining electronics of the watch are expediently arranged in the sub-housing 1b.
  • the two sub-housings 1 a and 1 b are expediently formed from two half-shells which are made of plastic and in which all bearing points for the arrangement of the individual assemblies are provided in one piece.
  • FIGS. 2 and 3 show a somewhat further developed time switch with the most important features of the embodiment according to FIGS. 2 and 3, but with the considerable difference that the sub-housing 1 b with the module 4 and the keypad 11 also arranged on the front of the module 4 Socket side 8 out and this can be folded down completely covering. 5 clearly shows this. This design is useful if the socket 3 is to be closed for safety reasons when the socket 3 is not in use. 5 also shows that the sub-housing 1 b with the display module 4 can also be inclined at a certain angle to the rear or plug side of the time switch (sub-housing 1 a).
  • FIG. 6 shows an embodiment of a time switch in which the two sub-housings 1a and 1b are connected to one another via a connecting element 10a which can be subjected to bending.
  • this connecting element 10a has the function of the hinge 10 described above.
  • This connecting element 10a makes it possible to change the position of the display surface 9 of the module relative to the socket side 8 of the partial housing 1a.
  • the connecting element 10a is expediently made of a metallic material.
  • the connecting element 1 Oa and thus the partial housing 1 a to 1 b can be bent in a certain angular range of approximately t 15 °.
  • the two sub-housings 1 a and 1 b provided can also be coupled to one another via a so-called plug-in connection, with which likewise the spatial position, in particular in the horizontal of the surface 9 to the side 8, can be changed in particular in steps.
